I was in Walton 97 to 98 I was aged 35 kept my head down n knew 1 gym screws quite well on the outside as drank together in Southport so he got me a job on bin round once I'd withdrawn from alcohol my experience is some screws were thugs n bullies others was just a job n couldn't care less n a minority were really good n v helpful who I got on v well with but overall it was a shit hole no tvs in cells in them days
Them singular people make a big difference though, Ive had a few in my life, Many not around anymore sadly but i wish i could of told them what difference they had made.

We've been delivering cement powder to full suttons new Super Max prison while that was getting built. Did u do time in Hull prison? Stay well Bill thanks for sharing
Same in police cells if you tell them youre on anti depressants they take all youre clothes and put you in a mad little suicide suit. Ask to see a doctor and get 2 yellow valium every 6 hours, then land in jail and get 6 valium twice a day after you see the doctor and give a sample. Last 10 day remand just flew in back to court community service and fine. Some of the jails are ridiculously easy nowadays.
Your stories always make me laugh and bring back memories of my past being banged up being in reception rattling me tits off trying to get some meds just to take the edge off lol not nice at all but its all character building i guess, you were lucky to get dfs billy all i got was lofexidine paracetamol and a couple of zoppies at night for me troubles 😆 keep the stories coming pal 👍

Christopher Conway I was in Castington December 82 - November 83. It was paradise after being in risley for 7 months & Walton for 7 months. We had a stopover at Durham for 5 days,that was a shithole. Had to get all ya kit boxed off with strips of fkn cardboard for a governers inspection on the Saturday 😂 It was a hell of a journey for my family to Castington from north wales every couple of weeks for a visit Ended up in Durham another 4 times on ship outs on other sentences up until 96 which was my last sentence
