I love that they had the balls to put "Sunday in the Park with George" on the field as a marching program. The music is esoteric and most fans of Sondheim will admit that it takes multiple listens to appreciate. It's funny, but as out there as this program was, it (and "Sweeney Todd" the year later) introduced me to Sondheim. So thanks, PCEP for starting a lifelong obsession :)
Thank you for posting this. I've been looking for this show for years. At State Finals it was pouring so all Flight 1 bands were only allowed to do a "standstill" show. I remember when the color guard laid down on the field for their opening set the crowd yelled and applauded because they were wearing white and laying down in a muddy mess. Great memories.
Eh, formations were an afterthough back then. Things got way better when computer programs overtook grid paper drill. BOA was lenient with the visual category in the early days. This won the visual caption with a visual score of 19.3/20!

You're welcome. I wrote all those arrangments back then.
This is brave and beautiful and so meaningful for your students! Thank you!

Bravo! Must share!
astonishing!!
OMG! Its David Burtka and Karen Boudreau!
I'm an ardent, decades-long Sondheim fan, but am having trouble "getting" the marching formations.

Where is 1992 show?
Did you go to this school?
yes
Tyler Steele is this school like TWO schools put together? I never understood the educational “park” thing.
@@bdfan4ever 3 schools... One campus
Not very good alignments and spacing
Good enough to win Grand Nationals...
