    I feel so pathetic sometimes 🥺🥺that this quality content made available for FREE without any single min wasted in promotion and advertisement remains unrecognised 🥺🥺💔💔 it's heartbreaking.
    But sir really, Khan academy makes one of the best videos with top teachers and top content for students and I bet on that bcaz it's been 3 years I had been learning ONLY ONLY from youtube. I hv done majority of my high schooling from here and I bet u You're absolutely one of the BEST ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
    Thankyou🙏🙏🙏🙏

    God bless yu INFINITE 🙏🙏🙏❤️❤️❤️❤️
    The idea of understanding it from "gravitational potential" perspective is the best! I could understand and relate to it soo well

    The quality of these videos is so high that they should replace the standard english lectures on khan academy. These are simply upgrades.

    An alternative definition that caught me off guard was instead of 'work done by external force' they used 'negative of work done by gravitational or Electrostatic force' which are essentially equal since the forces are equal and in opposite directions...

  • @TheMeezanUrdu
    @TheMeezanUrdu 3 роки тому +5

    How can we move the object if both forces are equal and opposite in direction? Doesn't that mean the object should remain motionless? I mean, don't we need at least a nudge in the upper direction to make it start moving?

    • @KhanAcademyIndiaEnglish
      @KhanAcademyIndiaEnglish  3 роки тому +4

      Yes! Theoretically, you could assume the upper nudge is infinitesimally larger than the downward push.
      More practically, even if you give a large upward push, to accelerate it you would have to compensate that by giving a large downward push to decelerate and stop, when it reaches the required height. The work done by these residual forces would cancel out!

    Sir I have a doubt
    If external force and gravitational force are equal and opposite , then the body must be in rest only know ? And how to does it move . Please explain me

    • @furiousarpan7473

      External force is more than gravitational force, it's just a constant external force so there is not any acceleration.

    SIR AT 10:18
    If we put s force exactly equal to electric force then wouldn't those 2 get cancelled and wouldn't the particle stay at that point?

    • @niranjan7457

      @@VG__ it's not exactly equal. A very very tiny extra force to be applied to make it move very very slow (without acceleration)

      Well you need just a little bit more force in the beginning to start moving the particle then if u apply the same force as the electric force u will continue moving the particle ore the charge with constant velocity

    1 doubt sir. If F by electric field = external force. How they move upward to infinity. Didn't they just be stationary bcoz both forces cancel out

    • @BYashSinojia
      @BYashSinojia 2 роки тому

      its not completely equal you are applying small amount of force so that the body moves very slowly without any acceleration:)

    • @digitalbook8503
      @digitalbook8503 2 роки тому +1

      @@BYashSinojia u r wrong bro actually when both force become equal then it means that charge has no net force on it.since,intially, charge was actually moving so it keep moving due to inertia (it is actually a consequence of newton first law which states that a moving body keeps on moving as long as net force on it is zero) since charge was moving when net force become zero so it keeps on moving due to inertia.... Just to clear things up
      Sal Khan is the founder of khan academy. In this video Mahesh sir has explained the topic .
      He is the physics educator of Khan academy India.
      Khan sir also makes videos .They are not featured on this channel and he covers mostly US syllabus. I strongly recommend watching his videos too ( since most of the 12th class portion is not available here )Both Khan sir and Mahesh sir are amazing teachers though
      Done with my ranting
      Take a chocolate for making it this far 🍫

    SIMPLY PUT:
    Electrical "Potential" is merely the "Ed" bit of QEd or Electrical Pot Energy where E = Electric field or acceleration and d = distance. Electric Potential is also called Voltage or EMF.
    Similarly gravitational "Potential" is merely the "Gh" bit of MGh or Gravitational PE where G = gravitational field or acceleration and h = height
    Work is mere TRANSFER of Energy from one body (donor) to another (receiver).
    You are welcome!
