  • In this video, we discuss SharePoint Document Sets and how to add metadata to them. I explain that a document set is a site collection feature that needs to be enabled and then added to the document library as a content type.
I show how to create a site column for metadata and add it to the document set.
I also explain how to turn on a shared column and create a custom view for the document set.
Finally, I demonstrate how to display the metadata column in the document set view and hide it from the associated documents.

But when you are inside the document set, I see that projectstatus is empty. How do you show the data inside there?

But for me I can't see Welcome Page View in my Document set settings. Why is that? Is there any other way I can create specific views. Thanks.

had the same problem. you first have to enable the "new experience". go to Settings : Advanced Settings -> scroll down and choose "new experience". worked for me (june 24)
