Great comments from everyone! While not in my personal top 3 from "77," I didn't hear anyone mention either Nazareth's "Expect No Mercy" or Golden Earring's famous "Live" album. Those are both great listens in my opinion and deserve to be in the conversation about 1977.

"Draw the Line" and "Kings and Queens" IS my Fav. A-smith track of all time!!!! Thanks Butch!!!!
3: Meat Loaf: Bat Out Of Hell 2: Electric Light Orchestra: Out Of The Blue 1: Blue Oyster Cult: Spectres
Being born in 1971, my favorite album in that year, at the time, was the STAR WARS soundtrack. Best track was the cantina...I had several cantina figures and the cantina playset.
Born in 70. Still have them, in the box. I collected as a kid more then I played. I enjoyed setting up scenes over playing. Plus Sears was huge, so I got alot of those oddball sets
My most recent favorite '77 album has been Riot's debut Rock City. Desperation, Overdrive, Tokyo Rose. So much HEAVY stuff for '77.
one that didn't get mentioned: Rattus Norvegicus by the Stranglers
Seems only Martin loves punk. RATTUS is a great album
As a Norwegian i am offended to be looked upon as being a rat (sarcasm ).
Great album.
@@anfrankogezamartincic1161 I don’t really consider The Stranglers as punk and neither did they, but they get lumped into that with their early albums.
@@sspbrazil Because they definitely were punk to start with. And a dominating force in punk in the UK that should have been held up in the same light as the sex pistols, the clash and the ramones.
Pink Floyd - Animals
AC/DC - Let There Be Rock Blue Oyster Cult - Spectres
Honorable mentions -
STYX - Grand Illusion
Kansas - Point of No Return
Aerosmith - Draw the Line

Great picks, man. Glad to see love for that Damned debut (which is way more interesting than the Sex Pistols, if you ask me), The Wire album is awesome, and The Clash album is cool (even if I personally like the sprawl of London Calling a bit more.) Also good to see The Stranglers.
@@knightvisioniixv oh man, did I forget Styx? 😜 yeah, London Calling is great. There are so many good albums from this year it was hard to choose. Bowie’s “Low” or “Heroes” could have made the list too. I do like “Music For Pleasure” album by The Damned and agree it’s underrated by Damned fans. I also agree the first Damned album is more interesting than NMTB.
@@sspbrazil Yeah, love the two Bowie albums (with Low being my personal favorite of the two), the other Damned album is good, too. On the subject of Punk, both Ramones albums from that year are good, too (not sure if you're a Ramones fan.)
@@knightvisioniixv yep, I like The Ramones, “Rocket To Russia” could have made my list, in fact, that Yessongs and Genesis Live were the first 3 LP’s I owned and then “The Specials”.

Queen - News of the World
Pink Floyd - Animals
Sex Pistols - Never Mind The Bollocks
The 8-track-only guitar solo on Animals is actually played by Snowy White.
The only official re-release was on a Snowy best of CD. Great stuff. Think there's a track with Gilmour on there too.
Hey, Mike, I hate science fiction and Rush is one of my top three bands! 😀 I tried watching the first Star Wars once many years ago, but I fell asleep after ten minutes, lol.
Damn, Pete mentioned Out Of The Blue right at the end and I gave myself a slap on the head - how could I forget ELO...! I was trying to think of a top three while listening to everybody's picks and that one would definitely be included. Brian Eno's Before And After Science ( such an apt title atm... ) is also great, kudos to Martin for mentioning it.
1. Yes - Going For The One
2. ELO -Out Of The Blue
3. Locanda delle Fate - Forse le lucciole non si amano più ( Italian prog rock band, excellent album if you like keyboard heavy prog! )
Kansas's Point of Know Return - #1

Alan Parsons Project's I Robot- #3
Excellent show good people, Everyone has picked some winners.
