that first play defensive mistake is perkins fault . he has to attack the center and force the running back outside . jordin gilbert was going to get blocked by masson taylor so the outside corner was going to have to come down and make the tackle . it would’ve been a 3-6 yard gain instead of a chunk play
On the first play Penn cannot jump out of his gap until lacy passes the center and Perkins has to slide and cover A to B. Not the other way around. He guessed wrong.
Yeah it’s tough not knowing the call. I actually cut out quite a bit on the first play. I’m guessing Penn needs to stay there but it’s hard to really know
