Thanks bro. I've been on the fence about this exact mower for my small lawn. Since I also already have other ryobi tools it just makes sense to me. Thanks for taking the time to make this video. Cheers.

This thing works great! Even thick lawns where it had to be trimmed first because it was too thick, the mower cut the grass below and picked it right up. Very happy with this purchase I hope you enjoy it :)

nice price for a used one, I wonder if I can fit those new 8 or 10 Ah batteries inside the box on the mower for next season.

Although I've only used the mower one time and there were probably too many leaves in the yard, I noticed that the mower was leaving patches of uncut grass. I read that it is common and simply making a 2nd pass on any row with issues generally solves it. Have you noticed anything like this? Also, how has the mower held up long term?

I have found over time I have had to be more diligent on more frequent smaller cuts. If I do that it works great. Anything longer and I have to prop open the Shute to prevent it from overheating the battery from constant high speed use. I haven’t had to sharpen the blades as those are doing great, I do wish the mulching was better. Other than that it has done great.

Debating on getting this, got a cub cadet 21 inch gas now. I use it for trimming the ditch (12x60) and a small area at the neighbors (10x14). Will I have any issues? I’m thinking the lighter weight will make the ditch a lot easier

I’m trying to decide between the 18v or 40v expand-it trimmer

I think it really comes down to what hand held tools you have. If you run a bunch of the existing 18v ryobi tools I’d go for that. If not then maybe on the 40v. The 40v batteries are just so expensive. I am curious how well the 40V batteries last

I think my plan is to use fewer larger capacity batteries that far exceed my need (1/20 acre grass) vs swapping out 18v batteries constantly and draining them fully constantly. That way with two 40v batteries I might only use each to 50% charge, minimize overheating and triggering safety mode hopefully and then do full discharge-recharge cycling once every 6 months to minimize digital memory artifacts of typically only charging and discharging to 50%

@@PostprandialTorpor I know I'm over a year late. You can get a 6ah or 9ah 18v battery for much cheaper than the 40v 6ah or larger. If you have lots of 18v tools, this might be the route to go.

@@matthewjbauer1990 ha! Yeah I ended up going 40v mower, trimmer and blower.
Most of my 18v are dewalt

Need to wear a mic. Half the video I couldn’t hear or understand what you were saying.

Sorry about that, do you think just an airpod microphone would be enough?
