Pretty cool upgrade. I bought my first NVG30 when they were $350 and since added another with the really nice bridge mount offered. A really great piece for the money
Already have dual nvg30. Although it looks good especially the external battery port, it doesn't outperform the 30 enough to justify switching to it. I guess I'll have to waiting for the nvg70😅
@@Steezy.gunz_ for helmet mounting, i prefer the NVG30 bc it's like the pvs14 housing, so you don't have any problem to upgrade to binos set up.... If you want the NVG50 in a bino set up, you will have a problem with the ''standard'' bridges out there. The only bridge that worked well and aligned with your eyes, would be the one from the same manufacturer.. The one that has no articulation.... NVG50 it has that problem because the battery compartment is above the tube, and that makes it very low to ur eyes... but for gun mount is ok.
@@rodrixs1232 thank you for the feedback. I guess I’ll go with the 30s because I didn’t see the new ones having that built-in compass option either but yeah I want the door set up because I wanna start building a helmet.
@@Steezy.gunz_I have the nvg30 and I'd keep it over this new version too. The battery on the nvg30 makes more sense to me, you can still run it off a battery pack with a USBC cable and the compass does come in handy. Plus it looks smaller than the nvg50.
Is it the same IR illuminator? How visible is the red glow from illuminator? Battery run time? If you are running Bino, how does the battery pack connect to both?
Yeah no standby unfortunately. Focusable IR would be cool. Most helmet mounted night vision devices have a short range flood style beam. Helmet or rail mounted options tend to be much better for long range.
Id like it a lot more if the IR light was more purple or red as a update for the full color mode how much brighter is it compared to the 30 thats the real question because im not gon drop the $500 for the same thing when the thermal really is the shit next to the 30 anyway 🕳️

There are a lot of different use cases for the NVG50. People are using them for airsoft but they are also using them for self defense applications. While they aren't as good as a pvs14, they are a lot better than no night vision at all. Lots of people using them for hunting, property management, surveillance, hiking etc..
yo wyf shit what you mean this shit a damn mystery i got the 30 damn that mf hella good wit a thermal next to it big dawg i use the AGM 160 binocular next to the 30;on a bump helmet its nasty AF shit im doing better than most 😂 i see a PIP within a PIP and the PIP on top u know wtf i mean

If we can get NVG50 or 30 to go past 40 fps to 60 fps or even 144 fps would be great
Pretty cool upgrade. I bought my first NVG30 when they were $350 and since added another with the really nice bridge mount offered.
A really great piece for the money
Slight upgrade from the NVG30 was hoping at the very least the upgrade would be 60fps*
I dunno..60 fps would drop the low light sensitivity pretty bad. I can use 40 fps just fine but i get not everyone can process 40. Maybe 50 fps
i dont really understand the point over the nvg30

Minor upgrade. Should be called NVG30 Pro
I was thinking the same thing, now I’m not sure witch to get

Thanks US! I might need to get this one. Thanks for the review and your comparisons!
Awesome! You won't be let down by the performance, its exceptional! Hope you have a great weekend and thanks for keeping up with the channel Greg!
Yawn, lemme know when it gets a thermal fusion overlay
is there any upgrade where someone can make it a circular field of view?
Could you please made a comparison video of NVG30 vs NVG50? would love to see the differences side by side!
Yep! Should have that video published within the next week or so!
You said a bino NVG video is coming. Would you be able to address or talk about setting these up in a bino config?
Small difference im wondering about. The nvg30 has a compass, does the nvg50?
Yes the NVG50 also has a compass.
If it can connect to a pick rail can it handle recoil?
Its all about the firewall at this point where is the Web site u can upload updates on this thats what we need
Still no standby mode?? I wish they provide focusable IR for longer range.

You guys should do a review on the hrs-31 it's a pretty cool digital night vision device it has both thermal and night vision.
I reached out to them to see if we can work something out! Thanks for the tip on that, looks like a really cool unit!
@UrbanSurvivor yeah no problem I want to get a pair here soon!
They seem cool but 30FPS is just too hard to use wish they'd use a minimum of 40 FPS.

That's not bad at all for $500. Impressive.
Yeah it's a very impressive unit for the price! Thanks for watching and have a good weekend!
Great review could U please tell me what it laser aiming device is please

I normally don't comment on other commenters posts but in your case, perhaps you should add english subtitles on your post.

It looks bigger than the nvg30 to me. Either that or you have kid hands. Lol
Not worth it imo over the 30
I literally paid 495.00 with the 10 percent discount. Same as the NVG30.
