  • Can the TKOR foundry melt glass? Join The King of Random and Veritasium melting glass in a metal foundry. This Random Happens features a collaboration melting dr pepper soda bottles. The glass bottle is set in a hot fire and cast in a mold made from dirt. Here’s a hot twist on some cool tricks on how to melt glass using a foundry. In this foundry experiment, Grant Thompson takes glass and bottles to the foundry to see what happens. What do you think will happen?
This melting glass project is also great for those wanting to know how to do other cool things with a foundry: foundry project, melting with foundry, glass melting, how to melt glass, glass recycling, melting glass at home, recycling glass, how to melt glass bottles at home, how to recycle glass at home, melting metal, DIY foundry, homemade foundry melting, glass casting, science projects and more!
If you’re looking to try something new or for an activity such as: DIY foundry project, melting glass, melting fidget spinners experiment, cool science experiments, fun weekend project, metal experiment, STEM project, STEM research, or just a fun project with the family, watch the video to learn more.

i think a smaller crucible with broken up glass will get a better flow, plus make sure its clean of other materials.i really like how you had two propane tanks heating it up,unfortunately i think it might have created an excess because there wasnt enough glass to keep hold of the tempature to keep it liquid because of the extra space in the oversized crucible.

Glass can only be molded at very high temperatures. It completely melts/liquifies at approximately 1400 °C to 1600 °C depending on the composition of glass. Glass is made from a variety of substances, depending on the intent of use. Mostly sand, lime and soda are what most glasses are made of.
