- E90 Paddle Shifter Conversion with BMS Paddle Shifter Retrofit Wiring Kit! - Toki Media
Hey guys, this is the last part (4) of my steering wheel retrofit series! Finally, after wrapping the steering wheel, restoring the steering wheel trim, and modifying the paddle shifters so that they work as traditional paddle shifters, the installation is finally done!
I used the Burger Motorsports Paddle Shifter Retrofit Wiring kit. It can be found here: burgertuning.c...
This is definitely one of the BEST mods you can do for any car, since you're touching your steering wheel every single time you drive your car, and I would highly recommend it!

I just purchased an E90 BMW. I look forward to keeping up with your upgrades as well.
Awesome man congrats! And thanks for the sub 🙏
@Toki Media Np! I have a question. Removing the shift boot leather like this video. Replacing it without the leather for a more up to date look? Is this possible?
ua-cam.com/video/lJOckmQOkqU/v-deo.html&ab_channel=SavageMotorGears
@@chaddychaddychaddy you sure can, just remove the shift knob first. All you do is pull up while pressing the button on the shift knob and it'll come off
music is a vibe. hella clean man
Tyty appreciate it 🙏
Question - after i retrofit them paddle shifters, can i perhaps get any of the modern paddles and change them? Will it work? Talking about them magnetic ones, or any just prettier looking ones? Thanks
How did you make the left paddle downshift and right paddle up shift?
hello, thanks for the videos.
I have a 2009 model e 60 520 d LCI.
I bought an m tech steering wheel in the making of paddles
I connected the push and pull 3-wire paddles to pin 11 and ground
the paddles upshift, but when you choose to downshift, they don't downshift, on the contrary.
that is, the gears increase in push and pull. Can you provide information on how to solve this issue?
Did you ever figure it out
Hey I am trying to do the same thing to my 545V8I have the same transmission so so it should be able to work
sick video
Hey I like your video but I have to ask you a question I have E 60 545 I have the same exact transmission also i have the paddle shifts already on my steering wheel could i use that to do the same To my car thank you
How did you install the paddle shifter I have a 545i as well wanting to install them
The only thing available on their website is one with two pins
I need a Jacob to help me do thid
Can you still shift up and down with the shift knob aswell after installing the paddle shifters?? Thanks in advance.
I bought my bmw with the paddle shifters already installed , and I cannot shift up and down with the shift knob it’s annoying
@@elnesty4509 I definitely hear you for wanting everything to work, but how annoying can it really be? I’d say it’s way more convenient to use paddles with both hands on wheel than trying to shift an auto trans manually lmao
What steering wheel did you upgrade with?
I couldn't get the BMS cable because they were sold out.
so I had to solder some cables on, it's not hard at all. I might have spent 20$ on wires and tools combined, also you don't need a specific multifunction control module like they said with BMS cables.
Could you let us know here or possibly in a forum post how you got that all to work? It'd be great help for my upcoming project. Regardless, Thank you!
@@jp1696 I’ll post up a video soon, I did it with similar cables I got from eBay instead.
@@Stancedude1 thanks buddy! I figured out mine as well (I believe I ordered the same set) mine were boost monkey or something along the lines of that. I'll be eager to watch the video still!
@@jp1696 sweet glad you got it to work!
