Personally, I find that there already are enough 2 player head to head games that are beginner friendly. Which is why I'm happy with this being an experience I have to invest in because it offers something different from the much less strategic battle games I would play
Love the production and artistic design it looks so clear and polished but it is a real shame they changed the factions. I kind of liked the multiple Goblin types of the original. Goblins need more love... name still fits though... GOSU: GOblins Seriously Underrepresented 🤣
I'm a huge fan of the game, and I think your review is right on the nose! Really an awesome game with that tcg feel, in a single box, but you need to be willing to invest a bit of time on it, it's worth it.
Glad you liked it! As of right now, this is my favourite iteration of Gosu. Did you try Gosu 2? While I can understand the "not newbie friendly" comment, it's not something I consider a negative. A point of caution, perhaps. I don't think anyone would consider Race for the Galaxy newbie friendly, but that doesn't dissuade people's reverence towards it. I'm not saying this is as good as Race, just that it is similarly a deep game that requires effort and repeated plays to shine. Those who put in the effort will be rewarded.
Fantastic review! I think I am definitely part of the target audience for the game, and you both did a great job highlighting what seems fantastic about it. Will be buying it today so I can prep for the Gen Con tournament.
Just out of curiosity, why did Zee want to know more about this "Generia" but not other board game worlds? Is there a sweet spot for amount of lore for a game?

Whelp! I'm sold. I think I'm going to have to check this out.
Original GOSU was a blast to play. The artwork on the cards was fantastic. Very difficult to find a copy.
Missed out on Gosu, glad it's back but it seems it might not really be back
Nice review, thank you!
It's still called GOSU because it now stands for Goan Sul, one of the game clan's name

This feels like it's going to be an awesome father / son game. Amped.
Huh...... this is...... different.....
another 1 for the buy list
