Such a great idea to hold tournaments for these old games. I only got into tekken with the latest entry so it's super interesting to see how these older titles look and play. I'm specifically really surprised by how entertaining Tekken 3 is to watch. It feels like there's no filler, just pure action. Namco might be able to learn some things about how to build a great spectator e-sport going into the next installment.
Watching the Jin's go at it is fun. But Im here for the high level Gon matches. This was a great idea. Older game tourneys are always interesting with nostalgia and hindsight.
Oh man that was super sick! Gah I could watch something like this all day. This entire tournament was so fun and the grand finals didn't disappoint. Gg to both players. Thanks for organizing this Arya. I look forward to this month's tournament.
Big fan of Super Akouma. Was really holding my breath on both mirror matches. It was pretty tense and close! Thank you for making this whole Tournament possible. I even rewatched some matches later with the VoD. Hope one day we will be able to play older Tekkens via Fightcade. Though T2 is going to be my main choice then tbh
If I was there, definitely would've picked ogre and destroyed everyone, since I'm doing the same in local scene. And yes we still play tekken 3 for some reason 😌
Loving the tournament with the old tekken games!!! Its crazy seeing jin with some of Asuka's (or Juns) moves! Honestly I loved that they merged his father's offence style with his mothers defensive style. My favourite Jin by far.
Devil Jin takes from the style of this Jin , the Mishima Jin. Basically, there is no Jin in Tekken 3. Only devil Jin with no lasers. The karate-Jin first appeared in Tekken 4.
YES. I was super late to tekken 3. I jumped from Tekken 2 into Tekken Tag. luckily, my cousin went to the Philippines and got us a modded PS1. I finally got to experience the story and understand where the hell all the new characters came from. before tag, they touted tekken 3 for having state of the art CG. I feel a wave of nostalgia watching this. obviously, we weren't that good to have complex juggles or the execution for consistent electrics back then, but we used to try everyone's 10 hit combos. can't wait for the tag matches
that one fighter madara is my brother, really cool seeing how much work he puts into this game, i remember him introducing to tekken 2 and tekken 3 like 15 years ago
The 1,1,2 looks strangely inconsistent. Like even if it's done as a punish the last hit just passes through someone's head without doing anything sometimes. I actually just saw a video on IAMOP's channel about some of the jank in this game I never knew about, like generic slash kicks being guard breaks, generic down 4's being safe while having dumb pushback, and unblockables that might as well be homing moves.
A lot of moves had very small hitboxes in this game. Flash Punch Combo was really inconsistent in this game, along with Ogre’s Hunting Hawk against small characters like Xiaoyu. Speaking of stuff like this, if you haven’t seen it, I highly recommend TBS’ Tekken 3 Retrospective video. It’s honestly really good, I still go back and watch all the retrospectives from time to time.
This is going to be good, thanks for all the great content can you do a video on how tekken has always had moves that were NOT on the move list and not even in the office strategy guide
I think if you told someone when tekken 3 released that people would still be holding tournaments for the game in 2022....... Well I doubt they would believe you. Very cool that this is a thing!
My go-to T3 combo with Jin was the 3-Ring-Circus, I'm honestly surprised you guys didn't try that one more often. I managed to get the drop on most opponents with that! 🥋🥊
I think that series needs more love along with BT2, but there are channels that are covering the games well like Battle Budokai and Hippo GNT4 though the second one is focused on Clash of Ninja mainly.
@@andreaverone9377 Sure, but we can't expect him to champion a game that he likely hasn't even played (to a high level) and would likely get punished by the algorithm for showing off. It would be great if him, Max and the like did all the work but that's highly unlikely for an old licensed game with no EVO legacy. Heck, I'd be surprised if he covered FighterZ which has a good chance of performing well.
It's really weird how much of a degenerate cretin T3 Jin is on paper, but somehow I didn't even care about idiotic garbage like quasi-safe hellsweeps while I was watching this. It hardly felt like it influenced the outcome of the match compared to how much mileage the players got from movement and space control.
I would imagine it's an emulator with a network connection, so you can connect 2 emulators and it will see it as 1 system playing a local versus match. I'm not sure just guessing
They should remove Jin from the game, he's not a Tekken character, he breaks the game with his electric uppercuts, wavedash and damage. I'd rather have totally fair and balanced characters like Ogre, Xiaoyu, Law and Heihachi. And also combos are for bad player and cheaters because it's not fair :( and superakouma is bad at Tekken because he doesn't play true Tekken characters. /s
@@UltimateBallaPOM Mate,I saw those matches live. They are professionals ,what does he mean by saying that they're not that high level? Super Akouma and Madara are top level tournament players.
Jin vs Jin. Talk about a BORING matchup. I wish Xiaoyu, Lei and Yoshimitsu were the top tiers in this game. So much flashier, so much more interesting than this shoto-without-fireballs crap.
