I love that you cook like I do. It’s the way I was brought up. I was nearly grown before I ever ate a canned biscuit. And hated them. Lol. Me and dad always made biscuits on the weekend and froze them. Cooked them during the week before work and school. I dont think stores even had frozen biscuits back then. That was in the early seventies. You are doing great Noel.
I cook and puree my pumpkin and put it into sandwich bags - each will hold 2 cups, and then put those into freezer bags, pop them in the freezer and use them all year round.
Okay I went down the pumpkin thing already. If its cubed it can cook through it better so there is no botulism but in puree it has a higher chance of growing botulism because its thick and harder to heat thru. And I will tell you can pie pumpkins because Jack- O'-lanterns don't come out very good they are watery after being canned or you have to strain the water out. I decided we liked store bought canned pumpkin better. Great day of meals.
Your reply is correct. Pumpkin needs to be cubed for canning because it's too dense for correct heat penitration when pressure canning. I also prefer store canned pumpkin but if you have pumpkins might as well use them.
I second the density issues is the reason you can’t home can puréed pumpkin, despite it being pressure canned. I don’t know if there’s been extensive testing, or any testing at all, but there’s concerns that the heat isn’t able to penetrate all through to kill botulism spores.
Thank you so much ❤️Thank you for explaining it to me. I did grow sugar pie pumpkins for making the puree and the big pumpkins are for the kids to carve. I may can some cubed and freeze some puree
Cold and raining all day ! Possum thought you had a hotel for him lol . Your soup looks delicious I thicken mine with instant potatoes. The rolls are beautiful . The pot pie mixture would be good on homemade biscuits! Thank you for sharing ! See you soon ! 🌻🍁🌻
Everything looks fantastic. I will definitely make the muffins (both) and freeze them and the Potato Corn chowder. Have to practice on the bread. While your homemade pot pie looks great...my husband is the one that eats it and he likes store-bought. 🤣
Everything looks like cozy comfort! I’m also avoiding turning on the heat. It’s supposed to dip down to 32* overnight and I’m debating whether to pull the rest of the tomatoes and peppers. I still have so many! I’ve dehydrated so many types of peppers so it feels great to be stocked for a full year.
You can't safely can pumpkin puree because it is too dense for the heat and pressure of consumer pressure canners to thoroughly and evenly heat the puree into the necessary temperatures. Industrial equipment can get to higher temperatures and pressures, so they can. When pumpkin is cubed, there is air around the cubes which helps there to be a more even temperature and pressure around each bit of pumpkin.
My mom always rolled out biscuit dough for the top of her chicken pot pie and never worried for a bottom crust since the top of soft and fluffy once baked.
We will too and I am so happy about that. I do not use my heat except at night until December I try to go 6 month out of the year without running heat or air. March through May and Sept through Nov. I just love the fresh air and windows open
Mommas are more important than we are. I seriously mean that. I lost my mom several years ago. If I could have her back I would ignore everything except her. So, in my opinion, you have your priorities in the right place.
Noel I lost my Mom Thanksgiving time 37 years next month It’s still hurts me It something you never get through Your Family is a blessing to have been watching you for 6 years now I remember your other house so well i remember Charles fixing it You .Your Mother is very special Enjoy her Everyday sweet Friend and give hugs 🫂 whenever she visits you Life is to short God bless you all sweet friend Cathy 🙏🏻✝️☮️🎃👻☠️💀👿👹🎃🌺💐🌹💕🍀🙏🏻
Food is looking soooo good! Especially the pot pie, one of my favs. For day 2 I made baked spaghetti. Now, I'm gonna have to freeze it because I'm the only one to eat it. Lol. For the sweets I haven't made because I get sick, but I will. Thanks Noel.
Hello to you and yours i was wondering if you could give me the measurment of milk for the chocolate ice cream my grandy babies would love this thank you for all the videos i enjoy them stay sake and keep warm.
I’m making your blueberry muffins today and I tried to make the crumb topping and it came out goopy and like a cake batter I added more flour but it didn’t help lol what I do wrong ?
You would need a lot more flour if it is goopy. Start off with a Tablespoon of melted butter and a Tablespoon of brown sugar and try 1/4 cup of flour and add more flour as needed . do not stir it just use your fingers in a claw like motion ( like in the game at the store ) and see if that helps.
Ahh, it was so nice to see Luke and Theo today. Luke has gotten so BIG!
Love having these daily videos! Keep ‘em coming, Noel!!!!
Thank you so much ❤️❤️❤️

just put a slice of bread into brown sugar container. It stops the sugar from drying out. Also put bread slice in cookie jar for soft cookies. Brenda
Absolutely Heavenly Thanks so much Noel!!!♥️

It got down to 29 degrees here in Minnesota, but I refuse to turn the heat on in October. Looks like it will be back in the upper 70s next week.
