+Short Round Haha, very true! As long as you have a Sauna close by I will go for a swim. Not as brave as those that just swim!

I thought that i mention few observations. Gloves: Seem insufficient. Base layer is handy i'm sure but the top layer should be something where you can keep fingers together (not separate). If you need all your fingers then take the top layer off.Socks: Wearing wool against your skin would feel much warmer as soon as your feets get sweaty. Wool feels warm even if it is reasonably moist. Regular wool is ofcource a bit itchy untill you get used to it. Problem here is that those expensive merinowool socks may wear out fast. One recomendation i had was to put a sports sock under as a base layer then merinowool sock and lastly a proper old fashioned wool sock.

is all this modern clothing really warmer than what our ancient ancestors wore? is this not just cheaper materials?

Possibly cheaper (value of money and income has changed so it is difficult to judge), but certainly lighter. Also, ancestors would keep themselfs warm by keeping active. Layering the clothing is handy as you can remove some when you are working or doing exercises or something.

I always buy my winter gear on a heavy discount in Spring and keep it till the next winter. Usually, save 60% off in the Spring sales on winter gear. Also, the video was filmed in 2016 and I'm still wearing the same gear. Really is a solid investment and will last forever as long as you wash and maintain it all correctly. Cheers.

    Finland is not scandinavia.

Finland is not part of Scandinavia!!!! Scandinavia = Sweden, Norway, Denmark. Nordic countries = Scandinavia + Finland & Iceland...

You missed out Faroe Islands and Greenland, even though they're part of Denmark they're considered Nordic. Estonia also considers themselves Nordic but I think that's an interesting debate. Åland is also Nordic but they're part of Finland with a Swedish connection so that's a middle road for Scandinavia vs Nordic debate. Nothern Europe works I guess.

Dave Brett i didn't forget those I just count them in when I say Denmark... I also count Ahvenanmaa to be part of Finland so I do not mention that either
