What's especially dumb about this ending is that the BWL had no contingency. Basically his ENTIRE plan to remake the multiverse came down to whether or not he could convince Diana to join him against the Hands. Did he seriously expect to pull that off? After all the atrocities he'd already committed? That's a level of arrogance and stupidity that I find difficult to fathom for a Batman alt. Like, he planned for every other possible outcome except the one that both mattered the most and was least likely to go his way ?
I fear they will use this issue to bring back the BWL, saying that he had expected this outcome all along or some shit
That's what happens when they write their villians to strong. All of them. I stopped following comics and just watch these videos every now and then. But as a DrDoom fanboy. I noticed this dude CAN destroy everybody as easily as everybody else. So what happens when he starts to win? Some dumb arse excuse comes out of nowhere and he loses in the next panel despite a very long build up. And this applies to everyone.

Wasn't his plan to kill the hands and Diana was never part of his plan and was just in the way. Then as they started fighting he decided to try to convince her to join him. It was better than just fighting her as he realised that wouldn't be so easy.
They hit a road block with BWL and didn't know what else to do, so just ended it quickly.
The problem is that DC keeps making these events bigger and bigger, which makes them seem smaller and smaller. There's no appreciation anymore for the power of mystery or restraint.
The legendary hand at the dawn of time? The architect of the whole DC multiverse? The ultimate mystery? Turns out it was just another forgettable cosmic supervillain. Perpetua. Cool name, right? Enh. Time for another crazy galaxy-destroying Uber crisis. Fill the pages with crashing planets and armies of superheroes and villains doing battle in a starry maelstrom. Another apocalypse, another hopeless last stand, hope perseveres, make sure to mention how legendary it all is. Must be Tuesday.
The fight was cool, but it lacked substance. It lacked meaning.

Agreed but at least this universe went out with a bit of a bang before we got the reboot, honestly I wouldn't mind reading the old plot points of justice league stops villains from taking the world.

Glad it's over. I do appreciate everything that went into it. It just got a little overplayed. At first, I was like oh the BWL is an awesome and interesting villain! Then on the 978th contingency plan... I was like "Um... please no more!"
It's Batman contingencies are his gimmick 😆 but on a setious note I personally didn't mind since this guy's been planning this nonsense since before his inauguration into his presidency as lord of the multiverse so I give it a pass, it kept me entertained watching him troll everyone.
@@kronasmotivationaldrink8342 Clearly a lot of people loved this entire arc, personally, I just couldn't get into it. I came from the NEw 52 series where there was more focus on every character being able to contribute something meaningful and often. Sure some of the details for characters were changed but overall I wasn't bored like with this run. With this I was just so tired of Batman this, Batman that, and Superman while Wonder Woman goes to get their tea. I enjoyed watching this series unfold through videos like this, but just never felt compelled to purchase any of it like I had in the past.
This ending felt complete and it'll age well.

@@denkerbosu3551 I liked that the NEw 52 was an effort in the actual notion of trying something new. A Superman that wasn't just best at everything, a Wonder Woman that was more like Thor in the sense she could actually do more with her powers that just punch stuff, A Batman that actually struggled with almost not getting the answer right all the time.
It was just more compelling to read as I couldn't automatically tell how, when, or what was gonna happen based on a previous story. Sure the good guys win but I didn't know how the characters would react.
I liked seeing them grow into heroes instead of them already being best at everything and it just basically being Batman & Superman are good at everything and oh yeah, we let Wonder Woman do stuff from time to time for merchendice reasons sorta universe.
BUt yeah, I totally get why people didn't want something New they wanted the traditional, sameness, in thier mainstream comics forever.
I sorta moved on to more compelling material but it was nice to be challenged by the stories and to say. "Huh? What the fuck? Why would that happen!" and not have an answer until the next issue or maybe... for months at a time.
"You mean to tell me the Amazons, capture men, sex them up for babies? Then kill them? HuH! Well, I guess that makes sense they are immortal and come from a time in which that wasn't a horrible thing to do because yeah, they are magical warrior babes who haven't evolved with the times not only in tech but in social norms as well!"

I mean they weren't all hits, but I liked being tossed around as it kept me engaged as writers seemed to be drawing from a different well of ideas and not just dusting off old tried and true ways to get your money.
@@gunchar06 Yeah, that's what I'm talking about, that's where my thought came from. Previous versions of Wonder Woman had items like a temporary energy shield that could manifest like a massive tower shield that would give her more protection against frontal assaults. She was more decked out with magical items that would pop up here and there depending on who she was fighting. Kinda like James Bond has Q to provide him with various weapons depending on the mission, she had items kinda like a DnD character that she'd whip out on certain types of monsters.
These things were provided mainly because she was a princess and had the ability to commission certain items or quest for them. It made her pretty awesome. While nothing was obscene like Tony Stark Hulk Smasher or Batman Hellbat armor, it was nice to see that she was decked out like some hero out of a greek odyssey.
Then you had her on and off again goddess powers that could commune with the fates, see possible outcomes, and commune with the earth and all sorta stuff pulled straight from myth and legend.
The current Wonder Woman can punch stuff.... hard. It's just not the same. It's like all the other Justice League mainstream members have genuine skills, abilities, and powers that would be hard to replace if they weren't around and would be sorely missed. The current version of Diana just doesn't bring much to the table and could be replaced by anyone who can fight well and punch good.
Anyways... stay safe out there!

There's so many inconsistencies and flaws with this. The Darkest Knight who is basically Batman Who Laughs with Dr. Manhattan's powers and Crisis energy, is powerful enough to defeat Perpetua who created the multiverse. They were literally throwing planets at each other. Yet, a yellow star like the Sun, is enough to incinerate him?
Same thing kinda happened in Bayonetta, she punched God, or was is Jubilas, into the sun and it killed the thing.

They did call it the Death Sun, which has absorbed all the matter in the universe. So it's probably much, much bigger than our yellow sun.
That is not just a sun it is the beginning of creation and the end when all energy that exist everyone gathers in a single point the big bang of the multiverse that went on to create countless universes that "star" is literally the hottest thing that has ever and will ever naturally exist.
This not just any sun if your read it here or in the comic is say it the sun at the beginning of everything
They have seriously ruined BWL. He got off to a terrifying start as the anti batman who easily took down his world's heroes and villains. Why could they just leave him as grounded human villain? Why not just create him as a terrifying version of Batman who enjoys tormenting Bruce and the rest of the bat family? A true hybrid of Batman and the Joker. This cosmic, universe bending shit is so over the top. Why do DC always feel the need to have constant creation threatening crisis? It's never grounded or scaled. It's Infinity Crisis being repeated over and over again every few years..always the same formula.
They were going too far with batman who laughs for a while now. He had plan after plan after plan and it turned out such an unbelievable mess.

@@santhiendomail905 Honestly, the concept of an multiverse-destorying being is a good one. But I think it reflects a greater issue that the power scaling of Superheroes has always been ridiclously ounbalaced- and considering the same formulas were used again and again, eventually the power balance would get to a point where things like BWL wouldg et the way they are. I think comics just are reaching their expiration date, personally.
What u said already happened in emperor joker . Then if you are talking about the formula base is same almost 99% of the time cause there are a lot of critics and authors are afraid to go after that 1%. Only difference is the ingredients apart from base. This story was decent, yes it got into a bit of a mess in between but they did BWL all right in my opinion. He was not a hybrid like many people assume, he became something much more deviant. So there's character development , unfortunately if the story could have been clearer simpler minds could have connected well.

I try to stay positive on Fernando's channel. He's a small UA-camr who puts a lot of work into great content. That said, batman who laughs is so stupid at this point. It is way past overkill. They need to stop using him; full stop. None of this exists in my head cannon.

They ruined the horror aspect of good being corrupted when they turned him into a god. Huge L here man, it’s supposed to show the consequences of light embracing the dark and they gave us this cheap he becomes a god shit. It not only takes over the human aspect of him that is destroyed but rips away from the corrupted part of Bruce and becomes more of a separate thing. This is honestly why I tend to like marvel better, but hey marvel does fuck up sometimes too.

Bringing him back after Dark Nights Death Metal makes the victory in this event feel almost pointless… but atleast he hasn’t showed up ever since he went in the Fortnite Universe… I do belive it’s for the best (even if he’s still alive anyway). At this point I’m not even sure if he should come back anytime soon, but if he does I just hope they manage him well

If he did then he wouldn't be so skinny and pale. The only reason he is somewhat strong is because the writers pull stuff from their ass when they don't know how to make things work. Alfred is the one who feeds batman and takes care of him, so getting rid of him would mean that batman becomes very malnourished and weak which is exactly what bwl is. His starved robins are malnourished children who will get knocked out with one kick. He has none of the brains which batman has since he only like to play short minded pranks and those contingency plans are also pulled out of the writers ass. He is the embodiment of bad writing, plain and simple.

This storyline could have been a catalyst for ongoing evolving comics rather than stagnant immortal comic-book characters the build of crisis energy toward being destroyed by anticrisis I really thought that was where this was going to go. No more resets just dealing with the fallout of all crises at once and moving forward. but nope just another big giant reset at the end and right back we go except with other universes in close proximity now. The power of Anticrisis is nothing compared to the power of capitalism.

It was easily one of the worst things I've ever read in comics. Amazing that the same year can produce such highs and lows as X of Swords, which was fantastic, and this garbage which basically ruins DC.

Whenever someone says "objectively" it really annoys me. It'd subjective. Your opinion. The story isn't "objectively terrible" if others enjoy it. I know I did. Sure it had its flaws. TBWL did reoccur too many times, forcing a flawed, super-powered death. I woulve have preferred him being in Gotham with Batman Prime imprisoned. Just like Bane, Joker and others occasionally he could cause mayhem. Anyway, point being, saying a work of art is objectively bad is fallacious. Perhaps it is to you, but not everyone.

If you graded papers in a literature class is it just random and taste or is there criteria that separates a well told story from a poorly told story? It can be terrible and you still enjoy it. There are many awful stories I still enjoy. That doesn't make them good.

He said that when his power was greater than hers. After Diana refused his offer to join him and she started fighting back, it was explicitly stated that he was getting weaker and Diana was getting stronger.

This whole book felt like an out of place 90's event. Sure it stopped 5G from happening, but all DC did was steer thier continuity from a train wreck into a car wreck.

In other hand, was nice see Diana taking the main show. DC overuses Batman and Superman to main events, while could make a lot more sense to: Wonder Woman, Shazam, Dr. Fate and Raven face godly and cosmic level beings because their backgrounds.

I don't know bro superman was kinda getting put slowly in the background sense 2011 or 2014 while batman was getting most of the attention and love its got to the point that some writers were admittedly stated that they prefer to write batman stories instead of superman's because he's old fashion, not compelling to kids these days Yada Yada.. While ww was slowly getting more attention and starters to take the main show. They literally made her in some instances take the one thing that define superman in the trinity which is hope even in the movies. They made her go toe to toe with darkseid although in that same comic a much weaker darkseid beat the crab out of zeus which ww doesn't scale to at all and we all know darkseid can take the entire justice league by himself the made her one of the most powerful beings in all of creation in witching hour and they made her lead the trinity and basically all of dc characters and made her so powerful that she fought perpetua and then she gets another amp and fight the darkest Knight how he stated that he is more powerful but plot armor lol she beats him and for everyone who says ww doesn't get love in superman whole history he arguably never reached this level of power lol

Basically continuing the trend of having zero patience for keeping a good villain around, and instead of running up into the ground cause everything has to be a BIG crossover event. Not saying Metal didn't have its good points but crossovers have been done so much it no longer matters if they're good cause it's exhausting to deal with one after another without a break in between. The universe and/or multi-verse has been reset/reinvented so many times I doubt even the gods themselves "truly" care.

I thought superman was the center of the metaverse and everything was built around him. Why Diana? What's the purpose of Doomsday Clock and Sixth Dimension having Superman as plot generator?
Because we're tired of Superman and Batman, while Diana always got overshadowed, now she can shine as the main character in the new omniverse and new era, as Superman did for 80 years already.

@@P.G13 Doomsday Clock was a Jeff Johns event and idea. they (Dan Didio mostly) screwed him over and ignored the whole event. Johns is no longer in power at DC. he's doing movies and TV shows for DC mostly. and honestly, Doomsday Clock kinda ruined Watchmen

I’d much rather have had SBP be that villain cause the BWLs was just way too much just plot armor for me, he beat beings that are supposed to be omniscient, how do u make plans for beings u don’t understand and are omniscient? I got no clue but somehow the BWLs did, he’s supposed to be a insane super smart human, way too much weird plot armor to accomplish all of this shit.

As ridiculous as this story gets, call it "it's the big battle for existence" in general lmfao. That one moment that will ever happen where desperate times call for desperate measures and everyone becomes allies because they all wanna live. The Joker can't envision the world burning under his hand if somebody else does it. This one moment is where it all matters. They will do their part so that they can continue to live another day so they can continue doing their shit.
Well about time the Batman who laughs is finally defeated. He was a horrfying yet amazing concept and all but his OP invincible arc was being milked dry abd stagnated so guess its a wise move for DC to finally lay this beast to rest.

At least Thanos has powers... is many thousands of years old, and from a race of beings with incredible cosmic knowledge. Batman is a human in a bat suit. Both things are over the top but Batman is so, so much worse.

Epic, but strange. Let me tell a few arguments about this comic.
First, I don't think that Batman who laughs could be killed this way in his current condition. Doctor Manhattan himself said that he walked the surface of the Sun. Batman now had the powers of Doctor Manhattan plus the crisis energy he absorbed from flashes and Mobius' chair. Becides, old red Sun may be bigger, but it should be much colder than our current yellow Sun. Not to mention that the fact of a creature who can create the whole universes dying because of a single star sounds as strange as death of a whale bitten by mosquito.
Other thing that annoys me (no offence, Scott Snyder) is the idea of anthropo- and geocentrism, that is too storng in some late comics. I understand that Earth has certain role in DC Universe, such as being a home for White Entity, but still, there are many other worlds and species - Mars, Xarnia, Thanagar, Thamaran, Oa, Apokolips and New Genesis, lost but remembered Krypton and many more. So why does everything comes only to Earth and to humankind? And why is death of a single star, even though it is our Sun, is "the end of everything"? Also, why are not most of these aliens joining in the final battle? The same question is about most of the gods, demons, angels, the Endless, Presence and emotional entities like Butcher, Parallax or Ion.
Another thing is that even the role of most humans is too little. Despite my love for superheroes this fact continuasly annoys me. From what I see in the final battle, some good ol' USMC soldiers or russian paratroopers or even sivilian, but brave and properly armed people would prove useful against Dark Multiverse's evil heroes. Have none of the common people survived for this battle? Have only supers remained?
No... only superheroes survived if you couldn't tell from the whole series. Secondly, it wasn't a star. It was the end. In the same premis that the big bang is the biggest explosion the sun that BWL was thrown into was the black hole if you will, that forms when the big bang completes itself.
So it wasn't a star. It was... the burning mass of everything that ever is and ever was.

On the first point, scientific simulations predict that as the sun expands, it will become bigger and hotter. Which means that the surface of the sun will get hotter, and will only start 2 cool down when the outer layer is shed, forming a white dwarf star, so ur first point is ultimately false

If this final fight was to be accurately shown in a movie, I wonder the goosebumps it'd give off. This, and the crisis on infinite earths series. I mean yeah, its sorta same and repetitive but the fights get it going up to some extent. Hope the plot had some more substance tbh. They do make the events real big and expansive, but it often ends up in confusing the readers and they leave with many questions unanswered. That speech as the fight started radiated its meaning even as I was reading it. "All right people this is it; we fight as one army, one planet... one universe(one universe... one universe) together." I know just how epic it'd sound as a movie, bout damn time dc makes a good one.

Superboy Prime basically had reality altering punches, but he needed something physical to apply those punches to in order to leverage that power. So he stepped up to BWL and via punching him was able to destroy the dark realities that BWL was creating.
I personally enjoyed this event!!! I know that not everyone agrees with me but I felt that this was a great way to bring back almost every hero and villain in the dc multiverse to battle so many fears that the creators can throw at us!!! I love how we got to see how important diana was to DC for a change instead of being batman and superman almost all the time. It is true that certain comic book issues could have gone better but you gotta think about how hard they work (especially during the pandemic) to get the story good enough to want more. I mean the dc multiverse is now the DC OMNIVERSE and that's big!!! Earth 0 is no longer the center of the multiverse and that means we are going to have more earths and what if stories to explore!!! Hopefully, we won't need another fate of the infinite earths anytime soon since I believe that we are done with that for a while and that we can enjoy just having minor issue events in flash or superman or batman again and see how infinite frontier goes since I am excited for that!!! Does anyone understand what I am saying?
