Beautiful and realistic set with the mausoleum and the outside property, along with the wardrobe, acting, hairstyles, makeup, lighting, back ground music. There's probably a million other things I'm not even aware of. Soaps just never got enough respect. I was always blown away that they could put an entire episode on film every single day.

thank u oltl michael Malone Erika slezak and Robin Strasser for such a delicate deeply moving story . I have to say maybe I'm wrong as I didn't see a lot of the tess story but in comparison to this it just doesn't come close . I wish they didn't go there just to make Jessica more interesting g . I know she suffered abuse too but this storyline never shoukd have been replicated again. I did enjoy Todd's d.i.d. and I'm glad he was faking as it was very Toddisn to use his sisters illness to save his ass from prison and that broke viki s heart as she told him " i love u Todd twisted and tormented and closer to my heart than my own children god help me tjats true " viki never really trusted or took to Tina but I believe she took to Todd bc they were truly wounded children born from Victor lord and Todd did suffer from that being given away by both parents and abused by Peter so viki and Todd shared a bond that she couldn't have with anyone else

I'm wondering why none of the other soaps are picking her up.

Why Did Clint Have To Be Her Rug? What If This Was The Other Way Around?Really?!I Hated Viki In This Storyline.Creepy &Disgusting. You Leave Clint For Sloane Because He Reminded You Of Your Molesting Father?🤔😷

It had been well-established that Viki had adored and idealized her father, and had something of an Elektra complex. It's really messed up; but it makes a twisted kind of sense that Viki would be drawn to someone that reminded her of her father.

In this very dialogue she is explaining that sloan reminded her of the idealized version of her father the man her father could have been had he not done all those dispicable things. Before she found out what victor did to her she still loved him so much bc on the surface he was commanding strong brilliant successful I mean anyone would be proud of a dad like that plus she thought he was so loving and good to her when her mother died she adored him for that as well and she literally adored the man who was her whole world. Her mind wouldn't let her remember what he did to her so she literally shattered into pieces to cope or she would have had a mental breakdown as a kid when things about victor and his very creepy sexual nature seducing irene manning seeing the secret room later finding out victor had yet another child in todd by irene again she would flip alters so she never was left exactly well and Dorian telling her exactly what he did she cracked completeky

I want to add I agree clint was treated like a rug but he had raised 3 children with viki and he loved her. I dont get why they broke up clint & viki when sloan died not long after. Sloan definitely was more sophisticated the writers made it and clint was like some cowboy. He had been running a newspaper and living in Pennsylvania for a very long time. It was like sloan was written as this great intellect he was president of the university and a general and malone wrote Clint as this dumb cowboy. He really wanted to dismantle the buchs as they dominated the 80s bo clint cord and asa s roles were changed considerably. Max was kinda part of that crew being from texas and a childhood neighbor of cords with his brother Steve. So the end of the 80s it was all these Texans. Max who was a very popular character was totally ruined esp putting him with luna. I'm not trashing luna although her holier than thou attitude got annoying and her goddess stuff and mother earth craft like her visions and stuff got annoying but max was like a Rhett butler type with the dramatic scarlets his leading ladies in the 80s were 3 if the best characters ever on oltl Tina played by the epic andrea Evan's megan and gabrielle were classic characters that they brought back in heaven ( not sure how Gabrielle got there I guess when they made her a saint with bo at the end) than the recast of max was awful and they brought jdp back in 92 unfortunately for him todd manning burst on the scene . I remember depaiva was so pissed off always trashing the show that the todd show rolled into town and that long haired kid took over. Todd was lightning in a bottle that happens once in a generation. I mean a guy cast as a day player becoming the biggest male character in the shows history. Even when they decided to throw him.and the other 2 boys into a huge storyline he was supposed to leave the show as the typical villain does but I think females went wild for him bc he was cute and young like 23 and could act and won the Emmy within a year I dont think I've ever seen that. Plus the rape story got national news. I think that's when malone with another stroke of pure luck noticed his last name was the same as Tina's mom and vikis best friend that was not planned . So malone started phasing out the buchanans and max & made todd a lord and wanted to focus on the lord side of the family and reignite Dorian and vikis fued. If u watch any episode from the 80s it's all buchanans and viki was thought of as a Buchanan and Tina as well being married to cord. The lord women were with all buchanan men. So malone wanted it to be about viki and Tina being lords and vikis children being lords instead of buchanans same with Tina's kids and adding todd manning as a lord was a big part of the puzzle. It's like everything they did with todd turned to gold. Blair was supposed to be in a triangle with cord and max and it was so brilliant to hook him up with blair. I remember I looked in and out on the show after the rape story and my mom tells me one day omg they are hooking todd up with Blair and I thought that's amazing two bad villains 2 gether that's explosive. I thought todd would have the death like austin Buchanan . He was the last terrifying rapist that the show had. Anyway malone as any writer does wants to create new characters and he wanted to mix them up with the lords and I include dorian as a lord as she kept that name and knew the ins and outside of the family being victors young bride.

It's too bad they didn't actually do a realistic portrayal of DID.
