This just popped up in my recommended, I went through the college process, got very lucky with offers from certain schools, and my biggest advice is don't bother going to ID camps if you have never spoken to that coach or school before. The best way to get a real chance to go to a school if you are an American kid at a normal high school and not an academy is to make sure you're on a team that goes to as many college showcases as possible and then before you go to said showcases, email every coach with a personable letter saying why you would want to attend that school and play soccer for them along with your schedule for the showcase. Then you just have to ball out and hope that some of the coaches you emailed came. ID camps are generally fundraisers, and I was disrespected at 4 or 5 before I realized the coaches and staff didn't care about who was good and who wasn't. Maybe I'm wrong, but most people I speak to had very similar experiences.
I've never played highschool soccer, but I am really trying because it's always been a dream. I have a 3-day soccer camp at my dream college, and I'm going to take into account what you say here and try to apply it there, because without the experience I'm sure the other players will have, standing out at a soccer camp will be my time to show my ambition, dedication and passion for the game.
@@JossuLP If your asking me to update you after I go there, I will if you want. I'm going in with no experience, it'll be this summer before my senior year in highschool (July 17th-19th) and trying to get on my dream college's radar or at least get experience before I try out for a public school soccer team. My main position will be a goal keeper with a secondary as a center back defender.
@@JossuLP Your best bet is to try to go to a few soccer or ID camps and have them train you. (The longer the camp is the better) then I would say try out for the college team if they have one. If you don't get on see if they have an imperial team. Try to get onto that, work hard and after maybe a year try to go for the professional college again.
Hey everyone here’s some advice, since some of you are looking in these comments. Make sure you sleep and eat well before, prep is going to make your play better. Show up with confidence to Id camps. In addition, before attending send personal emails or text messages to the coaches. In that personal letter you should ask about positions and spots they have to see if it’s even worth it.
I’m going to a camp at lousville at the end of the month and I go to a D4 school in Michigan so I can’t wait to play with people at my skill level and against people at my skill level. I can’t wait to meet the other guys there
Hi Jordon My son is going into the 8th grade and he plays for Rapid ECRL. His team is going to Richmond Virgina for Nationals. I just need some help picking ID camps. He is a 4.0 student and I just would like to get him notice because I came across your UA-cam channel.
At this age, just enjoy the process - nothing major happens until his sophomore year. Go to some local ID camps to see what they're like - meet the coaching staff and see if he enjoys it.
I don’t know if this is an id camp but I’m a freshman in hs and I’ve gotten a few letters from colleges inviting me to this showcase camp. What should I expect?
Could be an ID camp. Were you individually invited or your team? If you were individually invited, I would treat it like a tryout. Try your best to stand out and be social with the coaches. Ask them questions about what they're looking for in players or what their recruiting period is like. The more info you have the better you will be in the future. Best of luck!
@@jordonsoccertraining Thank you! I guess I could I say I was invited myself as the letters were addressed to me from the head or assistant coach but I believe you have to register on your own.
I just got invited to a camp with multiple colleges and the one I really want to go to will be there. Do you think there is any ways that I can stand out for them? Or is there no way to stand out being a freshman?
Great vid!!! What are ur thoughts jr going into sr year of HS, sending short highlight video? And thoughts on receiving thank u emails after an ID, as well as what to include/say? Thanks
Omar Padilla social media. Most colleges/universities have an separate page for each sport so they will advertise specific events for their sport. Look at local schools or schools you’re interested and then check out their Instagram/fb pages🤙🏻🤙🏻🤙🏻
What about advise for keepers? I think keepers aren’t always able to show their skills in scrumming since they may not get in every scenario that show they are good in all aspects. Are coaches really eval them on the drills aspect?
Hey Daniel, honestly, it depends. Depends on where the ID Camp is, what JUCO it is, and where the D1 school is. You may get some info by reaching out to the organizer and asking if any schools, coaches or scouts will be attending. Another tip would always ask if you can receive the film or how you can get access to your highlights. Best of luck!
Biggest things for a GK at camps ----- I would say, apart from the obvious handling of the ball but a lot of teams are looking for a 'modern' keeper. Being comfortable with your feet and having really good distribution out of the back. Additionally, being vocal and commanding your back line will show confidence and leadership. Just don't overcomplicate your job as a 1. Be smart, play simple and have a clean sheet 👍
@@prettyboadanny1424 Fantastic! Look forward to hearing about it. You always feel like you have the edge if you've been training regularly at a high intensity! Wish you all the luck!
Hey Coach, I´m from México and wanna study in US, I´m searching info about how to get exposure with College coaches, readed about sending emails, attend to ID camps or summer camps, and thinked in other option it is about playing in a club over there (US) to have more easy contact with coaches, but what´s your recommendation, it ID camps are worth it? I´m searching the best "value / price" option
Fuckthathoe Shedontlikeme could be both really...but most (95%) players that go to ID camps are wanting to play in college and ID camp is a great way to meet coaches from a lot of universities
Fuckthathoe Shedontlikeme think of ID as identification. You want to be noticed by other colleges to increase your chance of playing for a university/college. Most players at ID camps are Junior College players or HS players
@@jordonsoccertraining it’s just way too expensive lol, my friend is really talented, but he can’t play travel or camp cuz it’s way too expensive and that’s why America will never be good at soccer lmao
Not sure how that relates to US soccer but my point was about not being totally by yourself. If you're there at an ID camp means you didn't get noticed during regular season, so it's in your best interest to be as social as possible because Coaches are looking to see who best fits their program (abilities and personality).

My question is how coaches contact you. And how much time it takes to contact you ?
If you make profiles on recruiting apps as NCSA u can email coaches and they can email you

If it says I went to a game or anything specific about you or who you play for then its a real one. If it just says your name its just spam
