This could have been EVO Grand Finals this year and it would have been one of the best sets in history. Amazing gameplay and tech on both sides, the pros are very geared up for EVO
Not the biggest fan of V but Tokido's EVo 2017 run was probably some of the best Akuma high level play we have ever seen and arguably some of the best competitive street fighter gameplay we have seen too. Daigo's Redbull moment number 38 against problem x was pretty impressive too, probably the 2nd best he has ever done for now ( we all know what number one is change red bull to Evo and subtract 1 from 38 )due to not involving V-trigger, however due to how V works he could block a lot of special moves.
Pointers for those who are fighting Mena and BigBird this EVO Watch out for: down L.p checks. you can't really go all out on mena or big bird cuz they're not afraid doing down L.p checks and especially mena, they'll do dp no problem. Be patient, especially be patient against mena and observe for an opening hit, mena is a baiter type fighting style, you must have strong mental resolve. reference video would be infiltration vs bigbird, infiltration is aggressive but bigbird still find opening being patient mena does a long distance bait, just walk in normally, and then play the neutral game against mena unless you got a solid game plan long distance against mena big bird you have to bait his maressa power hit and then perfect parry or counter it with a footsies check from a distance, don't let her get too close, her power hit think of it like its her fireball, jump over it and ensue combo's.

This was a crazy hype set that I have ever seen, probably moreso than SF5 & 4. I was expecting Menard to go with the Luke against Marisa but that Blanka gameplay was god like into the last round. Great set from both phenomenal players.👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏

Literally as soon as I checked, these two guys were sitting down in their chairs to play. Needless to say, I had a hard time getting to sleep because I was so full of energy by the end of this set. As soon as it was done, I said, "This is going to be one of those sets people are going to talk about for years."

Well it's still early , and we haven't seen alot of matches between Asian countries vs the rest of the world. EVO will be the tournament to make statements when that's finished.

MenaRD is probably the #1 pick to win evo but after watching several of his fights, his biggest weakness seems to be Guile. It would be interesting to see him run into a highly skilled Guile player in Evo
Honestly, this match could’ve gone either way. Big Bird showed he belongs among the top of SF6 players. You can tell that even as MenaRD stood up, there was a feeling of relief and accomplishment, because he knew he fought tooth and nail to win this match. I really can’t wait to see what both players will bring to the EVO stage.

You could tell in the last 2 rounds both their hearts were racing not connecting combos like the earlier rounds. All that blood pumping to the brain there is so much the nervous system can process. As a cardiac rehabilitation specialist, it would be very interesting to have them play connected to a rtEKG.
I remember when Big Bird won the Red Bull Kumite, there were some people who said he only won because the players there weren’t really of a very high caliber. I wonder what they think now that he stood his ground against MenaRD, who is arguably the top contender for winning SF6 EVO.
Surely Big Bird could have DR cancelled those jabs into a kill combo or at least more damage and guess for game? What an insane set regardless. I couldn't imagine the mental fatigue setting in playing at that level for 19 games straight after a long flight
Off those jabs all she gets is a hard knock down but mena had no meter or super so All he had to do was connect the hard knockdown into DI on his wake up and he would have won

The commentator didn’t mean that the scaling didn’t come into play then. It’s just that Big Bird was so efficient in his play that he drained a huge chunk of MenaRD’s health in such a short amount of time.
