A "life" sentence, but if she's "good" in prison she gets the possibility of parole after 15 years? That is sick. Shouldn't matter how you act after the fact, the sentence should represent your crime.

Usually when minors get convicted they get released on their 18th birthday. It seems like they were tried as adults but the judges will often give lighter sentences if they’re minors. They’re also pretty little white girls, that shouldn’t have anything to do with it but statistically it does.

here's what I'm gonna say. Skylar wasn't a bad person. she just hung out with the wrong crowd. also, if you didn't like her, then end your friendship with her. you didn't have to kill her you know. it ain't that hard girls. just stop talking to her and let her know. you too are just bloodthirsty and you don't know calmer ways to end things. you've always got to be dramatic.

There comes a point in each fight, that you become primal and are not able to slow yourself down enough to think rationally; therefore you end up acting out rather than thinking, and it typically results in something bad.

    • @AmandaDixson

However- with what them confessing to be premeditated, means that they planned to kill her. Over an extended period of time. It wasn't sudden.
So realistically, we can't take the dramatic heat of the moment. They said what they said.

@@AmandaDixson impulse control is a thing. Not having it & not being able to regulate intense emotion is a sign of something being very, very off. ( I did child psychology as part of my teaching degree). It's telling the parents knew something about Sheila was 'off'. Also, the real motive was stopping Skylar telling people the other two were sleeping together. A recent study of every murderer on Death Row found 96% had at least 3 of the following: childhood abuse, bullied/socially isolated, mental health issues, head injury resulting in personality change ( the brain's frontal lobe controls emotions, empathy & impulse control).

I have been to the memorial that her parents created for her. It was very shocking hearing the horrible details about this crime. By the way the friend that I mentioned who went missing is still missing to this day, his name was Luke David Stout. Speak for yourselves.
My parents have always had something off about them from the earliest childhood memories of them I have ever recalled (in the sense that they only seemed to do certain things for me beyond the parental requirements society would expect for any parents because they felt like they had no other choice, and almost never because they genuinely wanted to). Despite having been often bullied at every stage of my childhood before I began the 10th grade, most cases I would tell my parents about how a bully had victimized me (including all cases between me starting the 5th grade and me finishing the 9th grade) would result in 1 of 2 typical situations (depending on which parent I first spoke to).
I will only refer to the typical responses I got when neither of my parents had known the bully’s name or had never heard me say the person bullied me before.
The most common response I got from my mother in those situations after I told her the story exactly as it happened with no incentive to lie or not include any details I knew of was (and I will replace the first name with “the other person” here): “Well there must be something else to the story that you did and that you’re not telling me that would make the other person believe the way he/she acted towards you was more reasonable.”
That common response from my mother was more often than not the first sentence she would say after hearing the story I had told her, and it was just a nicer way of her saying there is no way my version of events could be completely true because I must have done something to at least deserve part of the response those bullies gave me.
And as appalling as my Mom’s average responses were, they were still the responses of the parent I actually had the right to view as MORE reasonable overall.
My Dad would almost always respond in one of two ways: 1) He would use certain details of my story about the Bullies that I had only been made aware of after the specific interaction I had told him about had already happened to imply the person who bullied me actually acted in an appropriate way, or 2) He would 100% believe my version of events and then proceed to say he saw no issues with how that bully acted (to suggest me overreacting is the only issue in the situation).

Heartbreaking. My daughter, at 17, lost her beautiful bestfriend to cystic fibrosis. It shattered her. It shattered all of us tbh. My amazing daughter went on to plan and partially pay for her funeral for the distraught parents, gave the eulogy, even redid the friend's makeup that the makeup artist messed up because her friend had made her promise to "not let her look stupid" in the casket. Yes, she knew she was about to pass away. She called my daughter her "hardcore bestfriend" and that's exactly what she was. She formed a charity in her name for meeting personal needs of other kids with cf, raised thousands in a different charity benefitting cystic fibrosis research in her friends name, and is currently going into medical school to one day be a pediatric cf doctor in her bestfriends honor. THIS is how a bestfriend should be, this is the type of bestfriend everyone should have. It breaks my heart most dont but to be hurt and m#rdered by your supposed besties....unfathomable.

The mental gymnastics it takes to do all the twists and turns necessary to make a teen murder somehow about you and fishing for compliments and praise. You are going to deny that this is true when you read this, but honestly take a moment before you press send on your next lengthy "story" that you are about to post and look and see if that post is all about you or somebody you know and how great you are or how great something you did was. Antivenom Adams Lord have mercy! I hope you know I meant no disrespect I was genuinely shocked & curious is all. My son was to be blunt, from the pit of Hell as a youngster! He was extremely colicky as a baby, as a toddler he just didn’t listen at all! I couldn’t take him anywhere without being embarrassed by him, no one would babysit him, he would get out of his car seat jump all over the car, throw his sneakers or sandals out the window while I was driving… I could go on & on!
His pediatrician past away from cancer unfortunately who was also his older sisters too so he saw a new physician and she on his first visit with her told me that he had ADHD. Naturally she suggested medication but I said no for mine & my husbands own personal beliefs but that’s our choice for our son and o each their own because no one knows your child better than you do!
Thankfully my son is today and for a long while now a great kid! He’s thoughtful, well mannered, smart, funny, and very quick on the uptakes! He just had a lot of energy as a child and his own way of doing things while being stubborn as all hell! And once we channeled all that properly it worked out. Glad to hear your son is also better.

For the young generation this isn’t the first time this had happened. In the 1980s, a girl by the name of Missy, was killed by her friends over a boy in the woods. One of the girls behaved like sheika helping and comforting the parents all the time knowing she killed their daughter. In the 1990s, Shanda Sharer was killed by four older teenager girls cause one was jealous and thought she took her girlfriend. They lured Shanda out her home, beat, stabbed, slashed, sodomized her, beat her over the head with a crowbar, then poured gasoline and set her on fire in the woods. It seems every decade this happens. Only advice I can give is anyone ask you out at night or want to take you out in the woods, run as fast as you can, don’t go.

I remembered this when it happened. It was outrageous and both girls were clearly insane. Shelia got diagnosed a psychopath and used to love hitting animals with her car, had a cold demeanor and loved manipulating everyone around her. Rachel showed sociopathic traits and was dramatic, impulsive, and showed signs of narcissism and aggressive behaviour. These two coming together couldn't have been more of a ticking time bomb ready to go off. Unfortunately poor Skylar got in the middle of it and was cruelly taken away from her life and parents. Rachel recently confirmed that she WAS in a secret relationship with Shelia and that they were scared it will get out. Unfortunately aswell Rachel will most likely be out in 2028 at the age of 32 after just 15 years in prison due to good behaviour. I still can't believe she will get out early enough to still have a life, career, or family when Skylar didn't get the chance to. Still RIP Skylar xx

Obtain a fun childhood or adult good ol’ days picture of yourself, get a copy of it as an 8x11 size photo, and keep a copy near you in order to look on your eyes and feel that positive love energy. Tell yourself “I Love You”. Do this everyday, and say uplifting things about that person in the picture. And you will value yourself, and not succumb to wanting acceptance from outside of you!

Our human brain need connection and bonding to remain healthy. Even if certain individuals think they don't need it, they do and are just kidding themselves. When I was 16 in high school. My best friend’s friend started to hang out with us more. It all started slowly, at lunch and then before long we had become this trio. I wasn’t comfortable with her, she was not nice to anyone except my bf and she liked to gossip a lot. She would bully me and take advantage of my kindness , call me poor behind my back and tell my bf to cut me off coz I dint contribute much. I was poor, and my friend really did help me out a lot, but I never asked. She always offered. I’m a very proud Leo , I do not ask for help ,but somehow my best friend saw through my tough exterior. Anyways so this new girl tried to separate us, my best friend told me everything. I was angry, she was angry. We concluded we both did not want to be friends with her .
So we came up with a plan. I couldn’t do it, I got very anxious at the thought. But she convinced me. So I accepted. So later that day, we called the girl to our room (I was in boarding school). She was happy hyper ..clueless. I was a nervous wreck. Finally my best friend did it.
She told her , and I quote “we do not want to be friends with you”. Mic drop. The girl looked at me, with tears in her eyes. I knew she was hurt. I couldn’t keep eye contact It felt wrong. My bf then told her all the bad things she had been doing to me and basically said because of how bad she was to me, she can’t be friends with us. When The girl left our room, I started freaking out. I felt guilty, I saw how hurt she had been by the break up. My bf said , it’s better to be honest and hurt , than lie and hurt...
point is, we did not murder or physically hurt anyone. If you don’t like someone don’t hang out with them.

while this story thankfully isn't anything like what happened here i do have an example of what a toxic 3 friendship pairing i've witnessed growing up. i used to hangout with these three girls katie, alexa, and danielle. all three of them were always together and boy crazy and it's all they worried over. being 15 at this was myspace days so there wasn't any other kind of social media yet but these girls always found ways to target each other and get other people in our group to try and pick sides. it was so chaotic to keep up with them one day they are making up lies about each other saying how they were never friends to begin with and the next day they're sisters for life! as they got older it only got worse they started to take nude pics together or steal each others off one anothers phones and send them to people or keep as blackmail.they'd cheat on each others boyfriends just because they felt like it. their entire friendship was maybe 10% harmless and caring and the rest was betrayal, backstabbing, and a competition. as far as i know none of them are friends now (we're all 30 at this point) but knowing who knows maybe they're still the same as ever. as i got into my early 20's i realized all three of them were toxic as hell and got away from that fire because they were a mess and drama happened everywhere! they were fun girls but you wouldn't want to be "close" to them. obviously this didn't end up in tragedy but it goes to show how jealous and fake some friendships can be.. people who dispose others easily may say they have trust issues but you should still take a closer look at them. this girl unfortunatly dealt with lunatics who took things to another level than just a catty girl fight.

I'm still not sure whether I feel sorry enough for her to ever be released though. But with Sheila, there's just no way in hell that I think she should be released. She's just pure evil. I feel like they bullied her and she started to be an outkast to them. Even the pictures Skylar has with Shelia and Rachel she seem like an outkast. I do believe Rachel and Shelia did have sex and Skylar was there bc on Dr.Phil show one of the friends said Skylar told her that Shelia and Rachel had sex with each other in front of her. It's a mixture of things but all in all it was wrong for them to do that. Shelia called Skylar's parents the next day after what happened and said she snuck out. So they was known as the last ones to be with Skylar before the tragic murder. Plus the friends at school were suspicious most importantly the parents were suspicious also. If you don't like someone just don't hang out with them simple as that its no reason to kill someone

The dark in them hated the light in her so they did the ultimate to extinguish it the devil & his minions are real I pray for GOD to comfort her parents until they are together again ….. this is prime example of exactly where the world is and where it’s going

I've heard this story multiple times but there was some new details in this video. Such a sad story. For some reason girls can't hang out in uneven groups. I remember from highschool that three always had fights.... usually catty stuff. Boys seem to not care. Then as raising boys and then a daughter....again girls got catty. These girls just lost their grip on reality. They took it to an extreme.

But the fact the tweet was tweeted on my little sister’s birthday. It’s so sad how people even teens can be this evil. She NEVER deserved to die, she was a beautiful girl and i bet she was a wonderful girl ✨💗

Rachel is unfortunately eligible for parole in 2 months. That psycho shouldn't see the light of day ever again.

Its truly horrifying how some of the people closest to you, your best friends can turn out to be you worst enemies and you have no idea until its too late.

I will never begin to understand the sickness of those who commit these murders, then turn around and have the AUDACITY to act all caring ...helping with searches etc. Rachel & Sheila, Chris Watts (just to name a few)

I first heard about this because me and skylar had similar twitter tags and I kept getting tagged in posts and comments about her. Makes you not want to trust anyone ever again.

I had no kids but if I ever have one, I'd encourage them to watch documentaries like these. Just to let them know that it does happen to anyone and they aren't invincible even around close friends. What more strangers :(
