- Phase Zero host Brandon Davis got to sit down with the stars of the new MCU show ECHO on Disney+, Kingpin himself Vincent D'Onofrio and of course series star Echo, Alaqua Cox, to talk about this dark, gritty take on the MCU...being the MCU's first Mature rated show on Disney+...and breaking down just WHO really does own Avengers Tower...and how does Charlie Cox's Daredevil fit into the entire thing?

You will find this is common for a deaf signer as it tends to add to the communication, much like the tone of voice for a verbal speaker.

I think him buying the tower in an instant makes him a top level bad guy in the MCU. Not everybody watched the Netflix shows, not everyone is even going to watch Echo but they will watch the Marvel movies at the theater and if it's clear in a movie that he bought Avengers Tower they're going to know how badass he is in an instant.

Love seeing this cast! They honestly talk with a sense of passion whenever I see an interview with them, and I'm excited to hear all these great things about the show! I'm looking forward to the release date!
This was so cool to watch the translation and Ms Cox excitement is contagious.
If the show is half good as the trailer it will be quite a ride! I loved Alaqua/Maya in Hawkeye.
Also glad Vincent lost some weight because I was kinda starting to worry about his health!

the camera work in this show was wild. I immediately felt roped into the action sequences. If they can continue/brand that feel into daredevil, spiderman, etc. this next wave of street-level MCU is gonna rock

@moondawwg youre telling me the action sucked? credit where credit is due. pacing wasn't great, but i think they did a decent job of juggling alot of themes and letting Echo stand on her own as a limited series while also soft rebooting Kingpin into the fold. Id rather see more of this direction than another Antman3
Vincent D'Onofrio is incredible. + he is so hot and cool, it makes pretty hard to dislike Kingpin.. lol :d he's such a great actor, and his portrayal of Fisk is amazing. You feel sorry for him, love him, are scared of him and hate him at the same time.. incredible character and incredible actor! I can't wait for Daredevil: Born again. If I'll ever see someone else play Kingping other than him, I'll burn down whole marvel or whatever.
I need to learn Sign Language. It would help be able to learn body language.
I have Autism. Echo, Daredevil, and X-Men are my favorite heroes.

I love how Alaqua Cox and Vincent are passionate and exited in what they're doing. Brad Winderbaum also gave me more excitement about the MCU moving forward especially the series and street level side of the universe.

I was reading online that 6 minute to 7 minute action scene oner is with Echo vs. Daredevil.
Spiderman in ASL is pretty awesome. Henry I can almost follow. Alaqua signs super-fast with excitement (the hands are down here). Kingpin is looking sharp.

King Pin looked more like Kingpin (Spider-Man cartoon 1994) on this show then he did on Dare Devil.

I'm looking forward to the the show, so when you say it's fantastic, do you actually mean it, or are you just being an access journalist? Just as an aside. It's annoying how you guys complain about the mistakes being made in the MCU on a podcast, but when you have the people right in front of you that you can pass the constructive criticism, you say nothing at all.

With Vincent, it looks like the costume team of Daredevil, Echo and Hawkeye did a good job of making him look like Fisk. Though it’s possible that he just put on a good amount of extra weight.
I personally would rather see Avengers Tower become the Baxter Building than Fisk Tower.

Again Disney continues to disappoint. These interviews just highlight the hubris, the arrogance, and the complete disconnect between the source material and their incessive need to feed their ego and their lack of knowledge/understanding and embarrassment at comic books and superheroes. All they had to do is follow the comic book character. She was "diverse" enough, but nope they had to take it to extreme and ridiculous lengths that break the verisimilitude of the character and story. I laughed out loud when Freeland's hands were cutting through the Echo logo (its superimposed on the video) and then she states that they didn't have "10 weeks to practice so we just went for it". Yes, as the released video shows, you definitely "went for it", practice and training be damned.
I feel bad for the actors because they can only do what they are given. As D'Onfrio said, "he can only work with what the script gives him". He was the one that had to add in more of a fatherly relationship so that it explains why she would have feelings for him even though he is a bad person.
This is going to be a glorious trainwreck and another comeuppance for these arrogant "creators".
lol dude, the comic creators themselves did maya a disservice by not giving her indigenous background more depth or at least explicitly exploring her Cheyenne/ blackfoot nation background, they just did a mismash of various indigenous illustrations of various tribes as they didn't much bother to explore her background in the years after her debut in 1999, then seemingly taking a backseat in new avengers when she became ronin in Bendis new avengers run, and once again she became a background character until recently with the phoenix rising run as

@@crowevil4658 that would be relevant only if those creators were involved. Feige and the "braintrust" have jettisoned all those people in favor of these people. Ones so untalented and driven by agenda that they had to scrap the Daredevil and START FROM SCRATCH! It's no secret that Disney wanted to bin Echo but the contracts and others monetary issues prevented that hence compressing it down to 5 episodes and a one day dump. Disney brass wants people to forget Echo as soon as possible.
Bro what. ? Echo’s character is a very very new character. Plus the mcu is is a adaptation it’s not going to be a 1 to 1 from the comics that would be boring. As for the show so far it’s looking really good. Idk why you people hate on Disney just to hate.
