[Solved] How to fix stop 0x0000007b Blue Screen error
1) First go to bios setting via f2 button
2) Next step go to advance settings and change ACHI to ATA option under SATA Operation
3) After select ACHI to ATA options press f10 button and next step click on yes button after that your system is reboot
4) After that your problems solved!!!

Mate , this Usmanali too guy is a wizard! I was trying to install XP Pro on a HP desktop, talked to a least 5 people at HP, and they told me it's a memory problem, followed Usmanali's instructions, fixed in five minutes!

Amazing, it worked! I tried to start an old laptop which was packed for 10 years or so, and got this blue screen and pc didn't start. Tried to do what suggested on screen chkdsk, and antivirus by booting from a cd, but nothing solved this problem. Only the solution suggested here solved it immediately. Thanks

Guys I know the solution. I had the same problem. After starting my laptop this annoying blue screen kept showing, so I took out ever component in my laptop (you don't have to, I only did it to check if something was broken) and nothing was broken. So I knew Windows messed their shit up with a update or something like that. I took a USB Stick and downloaded Windows 10 (trial version but who cares at least my laptop works again, even if I'm the bottom right it said activate windows) from my brother PC (you can download Windows 10 at a friend's house or a relative) then you just have to stick the USB in your broken PC or Laptop and download Windows 10. Only bad thing that didn't even bother me was that after deleting Windows 7 everything will be gone. But seriously who cares just download it anew instead of buying a new one. This is only for the people who tried everything (like me) and nothing worked. Just watch a video on how to download Windows 10 ( or whatever version ) with a USB or DVD and then how to boot your pc afterwards.
Hope this helps, because I know this video didn't for me.

Different boards have different names. Search for 'Sata type' under every option.
Then change from Ahci to Sata or Ide.

Wow, this really worked for my windows 7 machine but I just had the option to change from ACHI to compatability. I selected that saved changes(f10) and it worked , thanks :)

Actualy it is working, maybe U have different bios or just don't know how to do it bro... I was installing win xp on my mate old laptop and had blue screen, but after that tutorial I've fixed everything and now it's all fine. If I could post here screens step by step U would findout that it's not that hard to do it...

Depending of your's notebook motherboard, SATA Operation option have AHCI or IDE. Names are the same like a IDE/ATA.

if blue screen shows 0x00000070 or 0x0000007e. config_invalid error that must be 0 space in harddisk try boot from live CD then make some space in H.D.D

Amazing!! I thought my hard disk is corrupt. I saw it in advanv3 setting. SATA CONTROLLER i changed it to ACHI from Enhanced option. Thanks bro!!
And if I choose ide when I try to load it the Intel logo shows and restarts

Same here. I have the Dell Precision T3400 on windows xp and I have the latest BIOS version. AHCI is not an option as i remember

I am facing repeated bsod messages.
Why would avast install drivers and assidsagent.exe in my PC all the time without my permission.
Avast is no 1.
Now giving me the message to allow avEMupdate registry entry.
