- The Orlando Magic came into the season with raised expectations after a good finish to last year behind great play from Paolo Banchero and Franz Wagner. Many thought they could be a play in team, some thought they would even make the Playoffs, but few thought they would be in contention for a top four seed with teams like the Cleveland Cavaliers, Milwaukee Bucks, New York Knicks, and Miami Heat this far into the year. Yet, here they are as one of the NBA's best defenses and one of the league's craziest stories this year. They've proved all the doubters wrong and somehow this is only the beginning. I agree, the Magic beat the Nuggets with 8 players and almost beat the Kings in double OT with 7-players . (Got robbed twice by the Kings also) . But they had that all season.

The Magic has been more injured than basically any other team in the east. For the first half of the season they were playing without most of their starters, JI is still in minute restriction (and rarely plays on back to backs), Franz was out for weeks, Harris missed ton of games... With all due respect, you can't use the "the other team is injured" excuse against the Magic...
I dunno about that, knicks were missing like half their lineup for months now: no OG, randle, mitchel robinson, etc
I think our ceiling is the second round. winning a playoff series would just be the cherry on top this season.
Making the playoffs outright without the play-in is the cherry on top. Everything else is gravy.
I think Paolo and Franz gon turn up in the playoffs no cap but could definitely see a 2nd round exit.

If your a magic fan u saw this coming no suprise to me, only thing suprise about it is we have a chance at 50 wins i knew we be good this season but i didn't think we would be a potential 50 win good😂 i was expecting magic to win like 45 to 46 games when the season started that prediction still can come true but we on a good paste for 50 rn..
Exactly. I thought they would be the 7th seed. Prior to the season I believed they were better than Toronto, Atlanta, Detroit, Washington, Charlotte and Brooklyn for sure. It was between them, New York and Indiana for those final playoff spots. Funny that is where we are now except Embiid got injured and Miami has been terrible. So proud of them. Mose for COY. Suggs for MIP and All NBA 1st Team Defense. Paolo for 3rd All NBA.

Injury talk is foolish. It’s Part of the game. The Magic have led the NBA in games missed for the last three seasons. Tough luck, winning is the one & only thing that matters.
The Magic have always dealt with injuries, from the beginning of the season we lost 2 starters , for over a month, and we went and had a 9 game win streak, which no other team has had this season. We also beat all the best teams with their healthy roster. The magic are a problem !! Who ever we see first round , gonna know what its gonna be ! WAR 💪
Celtics have had multiple win streaks over 9 so have a couple others so what r u talking about that no other team has done it

Orlando did have history with injuries especially the hospitality but i hope after these recent years of technologies, Orlando need to keep their players healthy with amount of talent they really good at when drafting

@halftime814 he can find joy in basketball, but not in Orlando. Orlando front office is really big on the character of the player. DLow has shown nothing but immaturity throughout his career.

Trae Young would be crazy on this team but if we had a center that could get the easy put backs, clean the glass AND block shots we’d be legit too. We all like Dell cause he can shoot but the “traditional” parts he lacking. He needs to be a bigger presence in the paint I think that’s what I’m trying to say lol
@maniacslap1623 Wendell best position is at the 4, but there's not that many true centers in the nba to worry about. I think we should trade for Bridges or Simon. Or sign a good veteran in free agency like DeRozan. But I expect there won't be many options in free agency this off season

Saying Paolo was the consensus number 1 overall pick and that everyone was expecting Orlando to take him is some crazy revisionist history.
The expected order was Jabari Smith at 1, Chet at 2, and Paolo at 3. It was only at the last moment right before the draft that Woj suddenly flipped and started saying that the Magic were taking Paolo.
Also, the Magic spent a lot of years in the middle of the pack in the playoffs? We made the playoffs twice with Vuc. Is that a lot?
Maybe I’m nitpicking. I think your video is pretty good otherwise.
One thing that might be hurting Franz is he hasn’t had an offseason since he joined the league. He’s either been playing NBA or FIBA ball. And that will be true again with Olympic Basketball this offseason.
If he had a full offseason to work on his 3 point shooting like Suggs has had every season then maybe it wouldn’t have taken such a nose dive this year.

@@chefstirston yeah that’s what I mean. Paolo has talked about how he thought he was going to the Rockets at 3 and then like 10 minutes before the draft his agent starts telling him that Orlando might be taking him at 1.
I don’t think there was any consensus at the time on who should be 1. All three of the top guys were seen as pretty equal to each other.
This a great opportunity to for the magic to grow I just moved to Orlando and so have a lot people and there kids it’s so many if they could win something don’t get stuck behind a school bus 😢anyway and keep it going they could really build something and get that ship they been to the finals twice and they built both ways they need to go all in this FA and try and contend don’t waste any time with Pablo

He wont. Its not that he isnt good. The problem is he just doesnt fit the magic mold.. our entire identity is length and defense now. Mac has neither. Unfortunately. Plus he isnt a good enough ball handler to be a viable rotation pg to give fultz,cole,ingles a break.. also hes much smaller than all of them. He just doesnt match what we are really looking for. Hes athletic he can shoot. But hes too small to be a pg that can see over other defenders.. (anthony black was literally drafted for that exact purpose, 6'7 lengthy and can defend)
