- this... is one of my favourite scenes in the adventure zone.
there was a narrative version posted on tumblr (edited by / tagnus ) and my impulsive ass said "lets make a fucking animatic"
it's sketchy and i did it in one night but i'm proud of it, i guess! - Фільми й анімація
Me, crying all over again: .... this was supposed to be a comedy podcast..........
Still not as bad as Travis' backstory.
All Comedy is based on Tragedy
Sherrif Isaak is the prime example of why Lucretia didn't want the relics out there. A man, who otherwise would never kill a friend, was so enticed by the Temporal Chalice that he murdered his friend just to get it. That's why Lucretia didn't want the relics out there. Mind you, the barrier would not have helped either, but she still had a point. The Relics would have doomed that world.
This was the moment that everything changes for me while listening to The Adventure Zone. This moment made me realize how incredible the show really was and how deep it could be. This was the best show of Griffin's story-telling ability and I couldn't believe what power it had over me. I never would have expected that TAZ would become as incredible and intense and emotional until this moment. Thank you so much for making this.
I mean Griffin made a series about a Car Simulator Game have an emotional story....he's basically a storytelling God at this point.
Yeah, you just don't expect that about someone. It's crazy what he's capable of making someone feel and the context within that.
My first moment was the deaths of Sloane and Hurley. Since then, there's been a hell of a lot more - Magnus's backstory especially. This was supposed to be a comedy podcast, bud god *damn*, it's better like this.
I couldn't agree more. This is sincerly without a doubt in my mind the best story ever written or told full stop. Literally nothing has the same kind of power over me, I'll think about lucretia, or this speech, or our capacity for love and just cry out of nowhere. It makes me sad that some people won't ever get to experience it because they cant get past that it's a dnd podcast by the funny men of the internet.
When the music picks up after Taako says Junebug!!!!!
THIS. THIS MOMENT. You can just... urg. AAAAAAAAh.
That moment when he's so stunned by how well Griffin's put together this story his jaw drops and he has to pick it up off the floor before he can say "junebug."
Good lord I wish I could write that well. It makes you wonder how many of the best stories, the best plot elements have come out of games like this, projects like this. Out of someone's desire to really screw with their friends heads in the best way possible.
The two beats before revealing June’s situation killed me
"...Junebug."
It gives me mad chills every goddamn time
It's good that taako got a skill that lets him read 10x faster than normal or this scene would've ended much differently lol
My guess is he did't read all of it out loud. You can read really fast in your head.
I JUST STARTED CRYING BECAUSE THIS WAS SO WELL DONE, AAHH.. One of my favorite narrations in the whole series.
THANK YOU SO MUCH... i feel the same!!!!
timothy lawrence im very inspired to do my own animatics so bless you for doing one!
Jaylestial you definitely should!!! its hard work but it's so fun!!! and imho it's rewarding
I never really pictured June would be dad like that. I guess I never really thought about how June would feel in that situation. Tears in her eyes as one of the few people she trusts murders the her best friend, frozen in time as a reminder to Isaak of what he's done. That shot is hauntingly beautiful. Wonderful job!
MooseEatsBear actually, Isaak murdered June's father, which makes it arguably worse. thank you so much though!
this was the first time I knew what power the relics have over everyone
Oh wow I really enjoyed this. And I appreciated how you edited the audio to give more oomph to Roswell reforming. And the shot of the statue when talking about Jack and June! So good!
BostonTerrierLOVE actually I'm not the one who edited the audio! I put the link of the person who did that in the Description.
but!! thank you. Im glad you liked it!! that was one of the choices I made that I really liked.
YOU GOT THE BRACER!!!!!!! ON THE CORRECT ARM!!-!!-!!---!!!!!!!
this is so amazing!!! god every time I listen to this part of the eleventh hour (and every part of it tbh) im just reminded of how completely amazing griffin mcelroy is. like the adventure zone was his first fictional creation as far as I know and he knocked it right out of the park
The music makes this
Hey there, i'm the blog who posted this audio!! This is so amazing, holy cow!!
HELLO!!! i'm glad you like it!!! thank you so much!!! ^o^
i cried. damn you, griffin mcelroy
this is awesome
i remember when i listened to this for the first time. i wasn't that emotional, but this version... i can feel it physically lol. the music and everything just go so well with your amazing drawings. everytime the beat drops and it syncs with the video i get chills.
it's April 7th 2018, I listened to this a year and a half ago, I know what happens, I know the ramifications and how everything turns out...and im still sitting here openly sobbing...god damn it Griffin
this was so.... good. ive watched it over 5 times in a row now bc this is one of the scenes i simply cant get over. youve done it so much justice. its gonna go in my list of animatics ill watch years after ive finished TAZ.... so so so so well done. amazing . im completely in awe
THANK YOU SO MUCH
Recently, I finally started watching TAZ. I just finshed the Eleventh Hour arc. All the characters in that arc were perfect, but my favorites were Sherrif Isaak and Roswell. And this moment. The moment where the entire situation gets flipped on its head. The entire arc was an uphill climb, and the journal was the final piece the Tres Horny Boys needed. The rest of the arc was them assembling the puzzle Griffin laid out for them, and the final moments (or at least what we thought were the final moments) of Roswell killed me. Wanting to know he saved Refuge, wanting to know he did a good job. God, it killed me. But you did a great job with this
nailed it
...also, best scene in the entire Relic arc
A powerful scene and a great animation to match. Truly Griffin put a lot of time and thought into TAZ, for which I am so grateful for. Thank you for animating this incredible scene
This is absolutely gorgeous, really really well done
PrettyOddVices thank you so much...!!
God Griffins story telling skills are just fucking ridiculous
this is one of my favourite narrated moments, and my absolute favourite soundtrack so far! just the whole end/resolution of the 11th hour arc is my favourite!

Oooo I really like this! I forget about this scene. Well done!!
I'm listening to TAZ for the first time, and I just hit this episode today. This moment was so freaking good.
This was one of the first videos I saw before throwing myself into TAZ... and I've JUST gotten to this bit, where your images flooded back into my brain, and on my drive home from work, I was super moved with context. Thanks for making this and helping to pique my interest into The Adventure Zone :)

The first time I heard Taako say "Junebug"...not sure why...but I fucking lost it. Cried so hard...just big wracking sobs. The desperation, the sadness in his voice...so damn good. This animatic...also so amazing :)
