I just wanted to thank you sir, going through the chords at the end was a godsend which inspired me to try to learn it. I’ve just uploaded an awful acoustic version (after weeks failing to master it) as the lyrics fit so well with my “coming out of the autistic closet”. I truly wish I had your talent sir, I am in both awe and gratitude, so thanks again for taking the time to share :-)
Pete and his broken arpeggio power cord work 😆 love it played upon them myself on my zimgar electric and a sears silvertone drove Mom nuts learning the tumes picking up the tone arm on my philco phonograph 😂😂👍goodtimes👍🎸
Hey James, I just wanted to say your videos are a fountain of knowledge. I have been able to learn many of my favorite songs thanks to you. Keep rockin brother
per the comment on pete's timing:...agreed. Many times, when playing live, his timing is a bit off kilter. I figured out the young vic version of Naked Eye. There's a point during the solo where it just doesn't seem possible to follow his timing because it goes against what feels normal...
Every Time. Im a massive Who fan. But every time i learn a song its the same old chords. Then i end up learning them instantly because im familiar, i need james to move in with me
YES! I love this song and this version is my favorite. The fact that you're doing it on a Cherry Red SG (the guitar it ought to be played on all the time) is great. I've got one just like that. Good show. I can never figure out my amp settings with this one though... Clean sounds too...well, clean, but the distortion settings never get it quite right. I might have to get a pedal and see how that works.
crossroader71 No, it's probably only about 6 on the volume knob. I tend to put more gain on the amp and then dial it back a little bit with the volume knob on the guitar. That makes it more sensitive to pick attack, so you can get crunch when you want it.
If there were any justice in this world, this would've been one of their classics, too.
This song has always been one of my "deep track" favorites. I love the words in the chorus. THanks man.

One of my favourite Who songs, great playing
Excellent you got it good! Thanks!

I posted a live version of Bargain recently and once the soloing started, I couldn't keep track of the timing at all!

Can you play "Can you take me back?" By the Beatles which is at the end of Cry Baby Cry?

Yes! I've been waiting for this song.
Thanks man thus is an awesome tune
Sweet!
That SG is an Angus Young signature? Nice gift from your brother!
Actually Pete is famous for using a red SG from the late 60's through the early 70's too.
Very Nice!

Dude, I need that shirt!
Really good
Do you use delay or reverb in most of your videos? Sometimes I can hear a destiny echo but other times I can't make it out to well.
lol in the thumbnail, the shirt is licking the guitar
Ever played any Rory Gallagher?
Overdrive level is really nice, is your guitar in full volume?

Nice, hey would consider doing, can't live without you,- Scorpions
Are there any tubes in the amp you use? I thought at one time you said it was a Peavey?
sciorts I use a Peavey, but there are no tubes in it. My Marshall has tubes, but I haven't used it in a couple of years.
James James Would that be the Vypyr or Vypyr VIP?
