I didn’t think it was possible but I reckon you’re riding better than ever on the new steed Joe! And looks like you’re having a blast while you’re at it!! Very excited for you with this new venture with Hope and I’ll be merrily following along as you go 🤗
Thanks for the fun video and the elaborate bike check 👍
Nice video joe, would love to see some more pov and vlog style videos of you’re locals and adventures👍
Love the tunes as always
I think the finish on the main frame has to be about the nicest out there, looks stunning!!! ( even better than my Raaw Madonna)
Looking sweet. Hope a tasty fashy supper was had post ride.
Dude this bike is the muts 🥜. Seen fergs in person and omg👌 you make the bike dance with ease🕺🏻. And cut the tree down as could have been very nasty 😳🤦♂️ keep the videos coming please
perfect again!
Feel like they’re missing a trick if they don’t make that special lever a standard option!
sick bike
Sponsors dream this lad!
I have a life in general question…… how come they make round pizzas, put them in square boxes and make you eat them in triangles?
Had to sit down reading this. Gets the cogs going. A great mystery I’m thinking
improved Cooking, improved transport, improved handling, in that order. Gotta love the internet for those toughies!
No one disco dances a bike like you Joe 🤙🏻🤙🏻🤙🏻
1. When will Jesus be returning to a video?
2. When will V.R make a return to a video?
3. Do you like the Smiths?
4. If the answer to 3. Is yes can you fit it in a video?
Hey Richard,
Yes, Jesus will surely maketh a return.
No plans for V.R. at the moment but never say never.
The Smiths have so far eluded me. But I'm aware of the classics.
cheersh,
joe
Ayee!
NIIIIICE.
How much more powerful are the tech 4s than the tech 3s, and also will there be interchangeable levers for them as the tech 4 normal lever seems quite long in some pictures? Sick video and love the steeeeeed
The lever feels quite different. They have managed to get it really light and sensitive. Wild how the sensitive feel comes with loads of power right there.
I am not sure the percentage increase but the all round package is more poke and lighter feel. As far as I am aware there is 1 lever shape to get going. But for a company like Hope throwing new lever shapes together is easy so quite possibly.
@@joebarnes_hazzardracing2913 I had the same question actually. I already have a set of 2016 E4s which have been refurbished recently by Hope. Just wondered how much of a difference there is performance between those and the new E4s. Bike looks mint!
Wish those gold adjusters were available to the general public
That is one sexy British stead sir
Is the jacket fire resistant? If so, handy. Good choice.
Highly flammable. Dangerous combo with this bike.
E4s paired with 180mm rotors front and rear? I'm struggling to get decent power out my E4s and I'm running 203mm!
50mm stem? Quite long isn't it...but also seeing brands spec this length as standard (used to be more like 40 I believe). Any reason why longer?
I tried a 35mm and 40mm in the past and just found the steering to be very light and not as controlled. I also run quite a bit of back roll on the bars that can make a big difference to the effective stem length so this maybe makes a difference to why I liked it better at 50mm.
Where are you getting your fantastic jumper selection from?
Got this one for ma Christmas. So in this case Santa.
Do you play with Bar width at all relative to your reach when it changes from bike to bike?
I haven't adjusted this too much as I like where I am at here. However, last year I went up a frame size to test and I had to run a narrower bar to be able to ride the bike effectively. The longer reach and my usual 750 didn't allow me to get into the shapes I needed too quickly enough. Particularly sudden adjustments I felt too slow to react until I went down to 735. I think if anything it showed me the reach was a bit too long. There is probably some correlation there but I think if things are with-in reason then sticking with a familiar bar width is probbo best.
How about trying a loofah in the water bottles as "eco" Moto foam. It's the right shape.
Any reason for going e4 vs v4?
First SES race at FW, you will know better than most whats key to racing there? And 165 crank only 5mm shorter than standard, is bottom bracket higher than old bike?
FW SES is always a good one. A mix of trail centre and v techy sections. Th key is pushing hard on both styles of riding(hard when it changes style multiple times in a stage). I like the 165 cranks for a smidge more clearance on pedal strikes. And I like how it is easier to get a spin of the cranks in out of a turn. for me there is no disadvantage. My new bike is a bit lower than last years but only marginally.
@@joebarnes_hazzardracing2913 cheers for taking the time to answer 👍🏼
Nice build!!! Do you know the weight?
That build worth more than my car
Did you also try an air shock in this bike ? And why did you went with the coil?
I went straight for Coil on recommendation from Hope. It has been such a good set up I am really happy with the rear suspension. I have an Air shock ready to test on my big bike so I will feel a good comparison once I start testing on this. That'll be an interesting set up comparison I will share the findings
How do you fancy this compared to your longer travel hope bike joey?
This one is a proper trail bike. Efficient to get about on and so much fun but deffo gets quite spicy at times. To be honest this is ideal for the trails round me. The longer travel bike Hope have made is much more DH biased not just travel but also head angle. Really good once the speeds increase. I am just waiting on my size to be finished then I'll be able to make a proper comparison. I spent a couple of weeks on the big bike but it was a touch long for me. Still blown away with initial feels.
Is that a mudhugger up front there Cap'n? Cheers! 🫖
Yo, it's a muckynutz one 👍
@@joebarnes_hazzardracing2913 Ahh thankya boss! Lookin swish!
How long do you boil an egg for?
What’s the toolbox 🧰 you have got at 7:00 called? Is it any good?
How much do you weigh joe? For your coil choice?
70kg suited and booted 👍
what sciency hacks you done to the bike and bring back the BALLY HATS !!!!!
I agree. The Ballys need back
Do U feel a Difference in Power compared to the Tech 3 lever?
Yes, very noticeable. Very light lever feel and noticeable increase in power. I was taken aback. They still have the smooth Hope feel that dousnt grab you so ideal👍
No heated grips?
Not yet. But the first Scottish enduro is pretty early so I might crack them out to keep the fingers working for that.
How tall are you mate?
173cm
tidy
