“I shouldn’t be comparing but enjoying them for what they are.”, should always be our attitude when we visit places. You’ll find the uniqueness and local flavour when you do so.
Can we just appreciate the cinematography in this? Like, the camera angles, and the music's all beautifully done. I felt like I needed to point that out.
My mom used to take me there as a kid!! I remember it being in way better conditions. It’s a little sad honestly. My family and I fled Cuba 15 years ago, and now we live in Texas. Thanks for the nostalgia.
While many of the pools were empty, the ones they were actually keeping the creatures in seemed clean and fairly well looked after. They seem to be trying their best for the animals
It is partially abandoned. I don't think the title is clickbait because this aquarium was supposed to be fully funded by the government and through the years they have almost completely stopped funding it hence the empty and falling apart aquariums. It's really sad but this crappy aquarium is the only way the Cuban people can see any kind of animal in person.
Am Cuban and that first sentence you said about how you could feel that for some people this was home is one of the biggest truth I’ve heard. I remember going to that aquarium so many times and seeing that it keeps getting worse thru the years is really sad. That first tank you saw with the turtles their used to be sharks their . Where the dolphins show under their is a restaurant where you can see the dolphins swimming under the water and and the end of the video when you went to the coast their is a building where they used to do shows for the kids. Thanks for showing this place again so people from all the world can see what the national aquarium in Cuba is now a days.
I love the energy in this video! Most people would have compared and only saw the negative, yet you shined a positive light on it and saw it for what it was to the natives and not the rest of the world and that’s so hard for the majority of people to do. Keep making great videos, you’re doing an amazing job.

Jessica Brown me too, I watched a documentary recently about dolphins in these places and how unnatural it is for them to be in that straight up position. It causes weird markings on their body from them bending in this unnatural way. And how bored they get they just chip away at the paint on the walls of the tanks.
The mystery Squad that’s really sad, I didn’t realise it was like that. I don’t really know anything about Cuba actually. But It’s certainly not presented this way in the travel brochures. I hope things get better for your country.

I went to Cuba for a senior class trip with parents & teachers. I just have to say it was the best time of my life. We stayed in 3 different hotels so we could fully see the island. If you go, do a tour system where 3/4 of your day is with a guide taking you everywhere. If you don't want to learn and fully experience the culture & history and only want to go to a beach... stay in the U.S... CUBA was a wonderful experience & I hope others can go there & understand (not to party, but to fully soak in the culture, history, and experience)... it was a once in a lifetime opportunity for me

I'm cuban and I have visited that aquarium a few times since I was a kid, and even though it has had better times it has mostly been that way. Sadly my entire country is the same situation, not just there. If you go now you will find more street cats than fishes. The Best atraction are the dolphins and sea lions as you could see. I wish some Day everything changes for the best. Great video. I've been watching them for some time and they are wondeful. I never thought you Would come to Cuba. Great channel.

Matt Altomare Good job on the comment 👍. But I hope you realize you’re the type of person that just has craps on everything all the time to make yourself feel better. Nice comment.
Do you think he doesn’t know that some of the shows mistreat the dolphins? Also you have zero proof that “those dolphins are treated horribly and are starved to make them perform”. The vast majority of aquariums and zoos treat their animals with great care. The only reason for your comment is to make you feel better than someone else.
Haha you definitely work at sea world. Idk how me telling people that these animals are treated poorly would make me feel better and your right idk if these are treated badly but the majority are.
As I am sitting here watching this video on my phone and watching these Cuban people go through out their life style just fine with nothing that most of us are privileged of having is amazing. This whole video touched my heart
There's no *Abandoned* aquarium in this entire video. Empty exhibits never equate to "abandoned", they are simply unused at the moment. In this case over the years due to financial constraints, but as you pointed out- the rest of the aquarium is thriving as best it can. Which, for those of us who pay attention to the animals themselves, you can see depressed and neglected/mistreated animals right away through poor health and lackluster behavior, which is a common problem many wealthy aquariums are accused of quite often globally. I'm not understanding the purpose of the click-bait title...Especially with the message you pointedly portrayed at the end. I think this video and its viewers-and Especially Cuba deserves Better. This really was a great, informative video and I very much appreciate the ability to come along and get a glimpse!
You inspire me more and more. I had a love for aquatic life before but never gave my own time to really learn about all different varieties of fish and sea corals out there.
CoralFish 12g,i wanna say thankyou for making such an inspirational video for us i realy appreciate what u have done for us.And once again thankyou CoralFish12g
Woah, What a beautiful video. The end brought tears to my eyes. I had traveled to this Aquarium in 2011 and swam with the Dolphins. I am just curious, Did you notice if they still have the Camel outside the aquarium still?
I teared up watching this 😢 the way you captured what beauty is left in Cuba is beautiful. I’ve never seen a better put together video of Cuba you got some amazing shots 🤩
Very nicely done man.. thank you as a Cuban it was wonderful to see you showed respect to something is indeed abandoned to some extent but it still shows that it has a lot of people that genuinely care about it. thanks! cool video.

Matt Altomare Good job on the comment 👍. But I hope you realize you’re the type of person that just has craps on everything all the time to make yourself feel better. Nice comment.
Zac how does it make me that person? I’m trying to let people know that even though thoes shows are cool they are placed it bad conditions
An amazing Aquascaper with a great story teller, it was so calming to watch, Thank you and keep up the good work..
I cant live without wifi but these people are the way i want to live without wifii enjoying ancient times
You inspire me more and more. I had a love for aquatic life before but never gave my own time to really learn about all different varieties of fish and sea corals out there.
Most people commenting say they feel bad for the dolphins and stuff. I feel bad for the people there
CoralFish 12g,i wanna say thankyou for making such an inspirational video for us i realy appreciate what u have done for us.And once again thankyou CoralFish12g
2:00 that looks like the race scene from fast and furious 8 at the begining
Woah, What a beautiful video. The end brought tears to my eyes.
I had traveled to this Aquarium in 2011 and swam with the Dolphins. I am just curious, Did you notice if they still have the Camel outside the aquarium still?
"Abandoned Aquarium"
Not actually abandoned
I teared up watching this 😢 the way you captured what beauty is left in Cuba is beautiful. I’ve never seen a better put together video of Cuba you got some amazing shots 🤩
At least the animals are ok... and not left to die like the sharks in one of ur videos.....

Heartwarming and a truly humbling story. It was the truth and sincerity behind the words
"At the time of this trip, in 2018, getting to Cuba wasn't exactly easy."

Definitely donate to them if you have the finances, help them renovate. They try to make the best of it. Such a beautiful country.
You can’t do that in Cuba
they force these pore animals to do tricks so the dolfins dont have to starve thats sad!:(
I agree
poor animals lol, they are not poor but lucky.
Yeah there poor until they get released until the wild and die within the first week 😕
4:30 “There wasn’t anyone except us in the exhibits.” Clear shot of a girl standing at the end of the bridge.
5:20 is Atlas: Hearing by Sleeping at Last
Auuuu, that segment you made about the significance of the aquarium in the community and how the future is there, but the past is everywhere... Man, you made me cry and I've ever even freakin' been to Cuba - such heart ;u; Keep up the awesome work - lots of love, dudes! ♥
