- HOI4 MP or HOI4 Multiplayer can be a chaotic affair, so today we lean into that an ask the question what if each division was controlled by a seperate player? That's right, we're playing Italy in HOI4 as HOI4 Italy is a bit of a joke sometimes. Italian high command will be fairly represented as I use my discord to put together a HOI4 mp game where 20 people co-op one nation! Surely we can't be as bad as historical Italy... right?

I don't how well it'll go but trying recreate the Imperial Japanese Army / Navy rivalry with a set-up similar to this sounds funny
Maybe if the navy is only allowed to do naval invasions, while the army is forbidden from doing them
You need at least three players - one plays as the civilian government, one plays as the Army and one plays as the Navy.
- The civilian player gets to pick things like national foci, national spirits, decisions, handles production and construction.
- Have it so the Army cannot use Navy equipment and vice versa. Make duplicate variants of everything except infantry and support equipment. Army templates cannot use Navy equipment, and Navy templates (e.g. marines or SNLF) can't use Army equipment. Especially when it comes to air.
- The two branches have to compete for favour with the civilian player so that they will pick focuses, spirits, decisions for their goals. They also have to convince them why they should give their stuff more factories or dockyards, or building things for them.
- I think Japan starts with 4 research slots in vanilla and gets a 5th easily. Give the Army and Navy two each. Fight over the 5th, or the civilian player can use it.

EDIT: Bonus points if you have more players. You can keep dividing the branches into more infighting groups. The Army can split with a Kwantung Army player who does whatever he wants over in Manchuria, like invading China or testing the Soviets.
You can split the Navy into the battleship and carrier advocates too.
Everyone fights over what to build and research.

The ideal would be that he can't call vassal troops, and has to get the players to raise their own forces and join his army.

Dude this is a cool idea, he can only use his own troop so he must convince his vassal who is each a player, to raise their army and then he must coordinate them all

I like how this was actually kind what italian generals were during ww2 they were just bickering about who should have the most men and the people who should get all the glory

If only hoi4 had the Corp level of command I think you could do a really good game with this concept with the players commanding armies and pleading on different strategic directions.

Honestly this is a funny format. Each sub player a general/admiral/sky marshal, you decide what troops they get to command.
Or playing as some kind of weird faction like a liberated Africa and you all play together as an African Union to conquer the world!

We should make a tournament like this, with Dankus vs Bo and other generals fighting it out. But maybe give each player a core of 3-5 divisions instead of just one

So you basically made generals, generals don’t control vast armies, those are major generals, generals like basic generals command divisions, and the give orders to their men, officers ensure those orders are done and etc

This is Day 43 of me asking you to do a mega campaign from ck3 to hoi4. (Wait for the Vic 3 to hoi4 converter)
It is day 153 since I asked you to do the challenge with Croatia in VIC 3 but in one of the videos, a good person named Andraip (Thanks for all the help) said it has a few flaws so it's time to correct them. So when you start playing as Croatia you have 15 years to get your independence, after that you cannot ally, get in a defensive pact, and you cannot be under any kind of protection and you must rival these powers as soon as possible: Austria, Russia, Serbia, Montenegro, Ottomans, and all nations from the Italian boot. You also must embargo all those nations and cannot enter their custom union nor can they enter yours. You cannot be in an alliance with any of the top 10 nations, including a defensive pact custom union, or protectorate, but you can trade with them. AI must be put on the default settings in case it isn't. If you ally let's say Portugal, and later on they get into the top 10, you must break the alliance. You also must stay monarchy all the time. Form the Danubian state with Croatia following these rules. (FYI incase I didn't make it more specific, you cannot join anybody's custom union you must always at all times have your own market)
