We saw young dolphins in a boat trip from Gran Canaria, after two diff boat trips off Tenerife we only saw the pilot whales.
You should listen to the bit where you walked passed Mogan beach when you described the recycling bins as recycling toilets 🤣🤣🤣

Enjoyed the video and was happy to see how much you enjoyed GC! I myself live in Las Palmas and have been here for 6 years now . I work here and am not here for all the tourist attractions but we obviously appreciate the climate and we live our lives around the beach ! We sometimes visit the South of the island and it does feel like a holiday destination . Just spent Christmas in Fuerteventura, a must ! The beaches are amazing !

It looks like you both had a great day! Gran Canaria is such a beautiful island and the landscapes are really diverse, so everywhere you go has a different feel. Meloneras and Puerto de Mogán are some of my favourite places. If you visit again, I'd recommend exploring some of the north and centre of the island, like the capital Las Palmas and some of the smaller towns and villages like Teror and Tejeda in the mountains. The north is greener and more traditional than the south, which is quite touristy. I guess it's a bit like the contrast between the north and south of Tenerife. I did a year abroad on the island a few years ago teaching English and was based in Las Palmas - the old town is a great place to stroll around, with the cobbled streets, cathedral and some lovely traditional cafes and restaurants, and Las Canteras beach on the other side of town is a great spot if you just want to chill out in the sun for a few hours.

Hi to you both, that's great to hear the FredO cat ferry is 80 mins, I always wondered. Tell Laura Puerto Rico isn't flat for most of it, it's steep like cardiac hill is in LosCris. Also a lot of the dunes is sand blown over from Africa and GC is the first land it hits.

Our second home! Have been going with my husband for the past 15 years and usually spend mid January to mid April. You need to go to Las Palmas, the capital and Las Canteras beach. There is Christopher Columbus’s house in las Palmas. Also you need to check out the Yumbo centre at nighttime in Maspalomas/Playa del Ingles. Where you were on Puerto Rico is very touristy. 😎

I’ve been there 5 times since 2017, coming back in two weeks. That’s my place on Earth.
Mogan has been developed and built up quite a lot over the past 15years or so, we went with our son and granddaughter for a day while staying in Rico a couple of years ago and were massively impressed with the new resort as is, it might have changed since then but the only fly in the ointment was that according to the Irish bar owner on the marina we spoke to- the nightlife finishes early on behalf of the local residents nearby. Unless anyone knows different that is

I agree Mogan is beautiful. Melonarares you were near my hotel I stayed in. You must go back to Gran Canaria. I loved my week there and your blog brought so many memories. The sunsets are amazing.

Really enjoyed that vlog. Love both Tenerife & Gran Canaria, don’t feel the need to choose between the two. However, if you go again, you should definitely go to Las Palmas, it’s bigger and better than Santa Cruz IMO 👍

Stunning views from the mountain. Puerto Rico looked very hilly too hilly for us. Loved Puerto mogan. Would you consider staying overnight if you returned. Another great vlog.
For many years and also for 2023 my yearly Canary roundtrip : in March 8 days in Los Cris Tenerife (H10 Big Sur). in May 10 days in Meloneras Gran Canaria (H10 Meloneras) and end of August 18 days in Playa Fanabe Tenerife (Jardines de Nivaria). Yes indeed Meloneras can be compared with Playa de Duque and Playa Fanabe . Playa des Ingles with Las Americas and Los Cris. The capital Las Palmas GC is also very nice with history. Next time in GC do the walk to Roque Nublo and afterwards to Pico del Nieves (highest point of GC)

stayed in Taurito and got the bus into mogan on market day.lovely way to spend a day there and pleased to see you guys showcasing the resort. you must go to amadores next time you're there. the white coral beach, hotels and beach club are stunning.

Brilliant vlog we have been to Tenerife and lanzarote numerous times but we really do find puerto rico in GC the best place to stay out of the islands.. need to try fuerteventura next maybe October

Great video Andrew, not been to GC for 7 years but this has whetted my appetite for a return visit in March, staying in Puerto Rico. Would be great if you do go back to do Las Palmas and some if the mountain villages.

Great to see Gran Canaria - I visited for the first time in June and Im due to go back twice next year. I did a circular tour of the Island in a minibus and the trip from Maspalomas to Agaete was pretty hair raising. If I was driving I think i'd go via Las Palmas and along the road which runs along the north coast to Agaete. Its a much better, flatter road. The are improving the direct road but this involves a lot of tunnelling. If you are missing your Ale Hop fix there is definitely at least one branch in Las Palmas. Please go back and visit Gran Canaria again.

So u worked and lived in porto rico for 5 half years and Morgan was a small fishing town it looks like they have invested money into it also same as porto rico that s amazing blog to see one my home s obviously after the problem for two years it's nice tourist loving life and enjoying life amdorrosse beautiful if you get a chance

Never been to Gran Canaria. Did look last time we were in LC but it was quite expensive and we weren’t driving so a bit awkward leaving on the 6am ferry. Las Meloneras looked lovely and liked the walkway beside the beach. Puerto Rico and Morgan were beautiful too. Those leaflets should be banned.
I recommend u some spots like Las Canteras pormenade, beauiful, then you have San Agustín beach, Anfi del Mar is a little paraide, Arguineguin is like more local vibes, still beautiful.Playa del Inglés is a wonderful beach. In Puerto Rico, go to Mogan mall.

@@TheKnightStrider Yeah. I wish I could take the ferry from Los Cristianos to Maspalomas. Wouldn't be so far I think. Now up to Santa Cruz or North airport then to GC and then down to Maspalomas. Much longer way.
