A friend of mine was into tarot and used to do readings for fun. They didn't predict, but they interpreted the meaning of the cards and let the target of the reading apply them as they saw fit. so it was more a tool to start conversations, get fresh perspectives, do something fun. That's the only way tarot makes sense to me. Paying for "predictions" verges on, or straight up is, a scam - depending on the state of the client. £35 for 10 minutes of vague bs is icky. Hi I’m a tarot reader and just wanted to say the tower card represents systems in your life that you’ve put into place that come crashing down to an end. Most of the time it’s things you don’t feel ready for or have been avoiding for a long time even though you knew it needed to happen. I get this a lot in readings when people go sober. I definitely think that fits well in your life this year but not in the way he said. I also think it makes sense in your home life since you very unexpectedly bought a home. It just means systems you are used to and comfortable with will come to an end. It is a card of death but as your friend said with death comes rebirth. I've been reading tarot for about two years now, and I feel like this barely scratched the surface. Instead of reading the future (which is impossible), tarot cards are such a great tool of introspection. I mean sure, I understand why they say not to give info so you don't influence the reading, but I honestly feel like the best way to read someone's tarot is to truly connect with them, ask them what they're seeing in the cards, and then focus the reading on helping them process what the cards mean to them. Some of this might not have been possible through zoom, but so much of tarot is about how the cards make you feel when they're presented to you. That to me is the great joy of tarot - I use it as a journalling/mindfulness tool, and I love encouraging others to process their life in a way that might not have been accessible to them in other traditional ways. I mean take the tower. Had he taken the time to connect with you, he could have unpacked your move, and how unstable things were before buying your flat. And then, as your friend said, rebuilding, which is what you're doing in your new space. You would have taken it from there. I suggest you visit Biddy Tarot's website, you'll find detailed descriptions of each card, and you'll be able to make more sense of them in retrospect :)

Lol as someone who is into tarot there are so many interpretations of the cards depending on their placement, the question asked, saying there's only one interpretation of a card is a weird thing to say!
lol at some of these interpretations. i read tarot more in a reflective light, not a predictive one, but even then, so many of these interpretations feel… not quite right. no tarot card is Good or Bad imo, they all depend so much on context. and we like to emphasize “positive” stuff, but the “negative” stuff is just as key (albeit hopefully in a safe way). it’s cool to try stuff like this out, but i also respect that you critique it as well, cuz like other commenters said, a stranger won’t know your life nearly as well as you do!
Honestly, I love Tarot and I read for myself and do readings with my friends. I don't see the Tower as the worst card either- I genuinely see Tarot as a reflection tool. As a tarot reader myself (like many others in the comments I view it as a conversation with our intuition, not a future prediction) every time you mentioned a card and how he interpreted them just made my head spin! 7 of swords can be a bit of "someone's trying to get away with something" card I guess, but then Knight of Cups and King of Swords are some of the most reliable court cards out there. High Priestess would indicate a need for (or a presence of) some intuition trust and going a bit inward, not to mention the Tarot card as many gave already commented on it. Absolutely wild. This is why I really don't like psychic readings, they feel really icky, closed off, and limiting. It made a great video though!
Weird vibes from tarot readings in general because of how vulnerable people can easily be scammed by them. Ultimately it's just some guy picking cards from a deck and then the receiver deciding on one of hundreds of interpretations based off confirmation bias. Some people find them helpful as a way to be introspective about their feelings/goals but if you're looking for anything deeper I'd suggest steering clear. A tarot reading alone is definitely not something to be basing large decisions off of.

The Lovers card is NOT just about relationships, it's being at a crossroad, having to make a choice, its also about mediation, agreements, compromise. Also, a good reader needs to know details of your life, how else is he going to know the most accurate interpretation? Just like a psychologist or a therapist or a doctor or a lawyer, you need context and communication with your client to give the most accurate and useful advise. The cards are not supposed to be read on a vacuum. Readings are supposed to be done in a specific context.
It would be interesting to have another reading done but this time by a woman (possibly in person), to compare if there is any gender bias in the readings - ie one focuses on business whereas the other would focus on families and relationships. Maybe the whole thing is meant to be generic as the interpretation isn’t necessarily from the one giving the reading but in your own mind.
I'm an amateur tarot reader and I've paid readers too! I personally don't like fixed predictions that much and prefer having and doing readings that are more about where my current actions are leading me - that way it feels like something we can work for or against, which makes me a looooot less anxious 😅 if I had heard some of the things you did on this one, I'd lose sleep! sheesh
I've been into tarot for a couple of years now and I've personally found that the cards give me a lot of comfort, guidance, and insight when I'm experiencing a difficult situation, but that it's not super useful to do long-term readings. A lot can change during a year and in my experience, tarot cards really capture the moment :)

I’m not an expert, but his interpretation of the cards seemed shallow and obviously rushed. You can get better, more insightful readings for free all over You Tube for free. I don’t get why this guy is so popular. There are so many more talented readers out there. The most accurate readings will always be the ones you do for yourself. You just need a small amount of knowledge to do one. ❤
I'm a reader and I hate when other readers say you can't read for yourself. Once you let go of biased opinion it's easy. I agree a lot of readers are better than what I have seen here and missing appointments... Does not reflect well on any professional in any field. Only issue I have with UA-cam readings is that they are not personal.
The minute you told me he did fertility readings I was all out. So cruel to play with people's emotions by letting them believe you have any actual insight into their fertility journey. It's difficult enough! Glad you didn't have a bad experience, but it's not for me!
I enjoy using tarot cards for journal prompts. I don't really have any expectations when it comes to predictions. I have only had a professional reading once and I enjoyed the experience. I have had an encounter with a psychic too (not requested) which I really did not enjoy so I am a bit hesitant about stuff like this. Going to the wrong person can really get in your head.
I feel like a reading like this can be a self fulfilling prophecy. Someone who wholeheartedly believes and got that interpretation of the tower and their relationship could easily start overthinking their partners behaviour etc and therefore end the relationship. I think tarot is interesting but idk if I can respect this kind of reading.
As someone how has been reading tarot for a couple of decades now (not professionally, although I read for other people a lot) I've observed that this type of tarot reader often develops their own shorthand with the cards, which allows them to read very quickly and automatically and without really tuning in a lot. For example, for a reader like that Knight of Cups = charming but deceitful lover. Emperor - male love interest, etc. This is akin to taking a very complex language and whittling it down to a few basic words, and then applying them in every single situation. I will say that it's very hard to comment on a reading as an outsider, because each reader has their process, their relationship with the cards, how and where the cards fell, etc. I will say that the better a reader is at framing questions when working with the cards, the better and more accurate the answers will be. Throwing cards for the upcoming year without much structure can result in a muddled, only partially accurate reading (and trying to do that in 10 minutes is honestly crazy to me). It's always best to have a few areas of focus and draw cards specific to that area. Because each card has so many meanings, even if the reader has a powerful intuition, being more specific with the reading is always helpful. Doesn't mean you have to tell them everything, but at least say - let's take a look at your love life, your business, etc. I'm not surprised you're still with your business partner - Knight of Cups and King of Swords don't typically speak of betrayal (it may be a different story if the reader is using reversals, but even then that's an unlikely interpretation). It's more likely that your business partner came to you with an idea you both bonded over, or that you had a good emotional or creative connection initially, and that they bring a certain level of maturity and a clear, balanced perspective to your business - they may be good with numbers and the small print, as well as legal matters, finances and technology. With the Emperor and Ace of Wands, it could mean a passionate connection with a partner, but to me it spoke more about you taking more ownership and leadership in your life, creating better structures, organizing your inner self and your outer environment and feeling a greater sense of creativity and empowerment. The Ace speaks of a beginning of something that hasn't yet formed, but the Emperor is great about creating frameworks and stabilization - so it looks like you had to be in that Emperor energy to allow for new inspiration, energy and creativity to come in. As to the Lovers - there are absolutely many ways to interpret that card, in fact very commonly it speaks about synergy and choices, and not necessarily romantic ones. The Tower isn't the "worst" card - there is no such thing in Tarot. Every card is important because it's there to teach us something, and sometimes the lessons are harder or easier, but none are "bad". The Tower speaks of the necessary falling apart of something - often a person's belief system or habits, but again, you have to see the context in which it fell. I've had the Tower come up when someone got cancer, when someone's house was literally struck by lighting, or when they had the most transformative experience that changed their whole life for the better. This is why using the tarot in a very limited, rudimentary way leads to limited readings. In general, responsible readers are very careful with predicting death, illness or pregnancy - and similar things - because of how impressionable clients can be, and especially in a general reading like this where you're not really focusing the reading on anything but a long period of time (tarot is notoriously unreliable when it comes to timing, though there are ways of making it more accurate). But yeah, 16 cards in 10 minutes won't get you a lot of depth unfortunately, especially from someone who likely has a very surface understanding of the cards. And never get a reading from someone who boasts to be the most accurate reader ever. A good reader will always be very humble and responsible with how they deliver information, because the aim of a good reading is not to "predict" what will happen, but to help the client make more empowered, positive choices. This way we are supporting the client's agency, first and foremost.

I’m a tarot reader so I love this!!! I’ve predicted lots for clients I’ve read for 😊 and I love seeing videos like this but I never do any fertility or pregnancies readings ! I would interpret the eight of wands of new energy coming quick and new opportunities, but something fast! It’s interesting that he spoke a lot about your business and less about your life which is shocking to me as a tarot reader 😭😭😭 you should get a reading by another reader like elbat did because prediction based readings aren’t the best as someone who reads people and big groups! 😊
I'm not sure what i think about readings, but the "weirdest" thing I've heard to come out of one is from my mum's late partner. Mum found the tape from his last reading before he died and she started listening to it, and in it he asked about mum and the psychic said she didn't see her in his future. but mum stopped listening at that point because she realized it was something she should not be listening to. but to this day we wonder if he knew he was going to die. (it wasn't anything traumatic he just went to sleep on the boat he was skippering at the time and didn't wake up... the traumatic part was we got the call during Christmas dinner (but not on Christmas we were having it early). Ultimately i guessed correctly that it was his breakfast that got him, coroner's report said build-up of fatty acid (usually cholesterol) on his lungs? though it might of been heart, this happened end of 2009 so my memory is a bit hazy and I was 12.)
I'm a new tarot reader since about 3 years ago & only pursued it because when I first decided to try it out, I asked people to be brutally honest lol & they would all say they were shocked at my accuracy. Even though I was a skeptic basically my entire life, tarot just makes sense to me now. Many times, the cards I've pulled for myself too provided answers I didn't believe until they actually happened. As others have said in the comments, cards have various meanings based on images, order, symbols, the readers own knowledge. Your reaction kinda sounds like he doesn't realize how he affects people with what he says or he's just not taking his business serious, not connected to his heartspace to HELP people. Like coaching "gurus" that are only seeking to benefit themselves. On another note, your reaction made me realize that I also tend to get vague messages when doing readings live, because I feel rushed. I think I prefer doing video recordings where I don't know anything about the person or what they look like. For some reason, people on live calls want to explain everything behind what their tarot question is lol which I wish they wouldn't, because then I don't know if the reading is based on what they've said or if I would've gotten the same messages without them telling me. Nor really a fan of physics and readings, I think it can sometimes end up praying on people at their most vulnerable, however, I when I was training to be a counsellor I had a teacher who used to work on a cancer ward. Long story short, she would talk to people who's medical history she didn't know and say "I can feel a fog over here" and it would turn out their cancer had returned. Very morbid but she put it down to just advanced empathy, I don't really have another explanation for it and wonder if that's where it can come from?
Broad predictive readings are less than great. Its best to choose one aspect of your life, like business or romance or family. He focused on business because you gave him that thread to weave. The Tower is kind of like the Death card in that it's a card of change. The Tower in my opinion is all about uncomfortable or difficult change. It may seem like a catastrophe but the aftermath always brings us to a better place. I would say that The Tower in your reading is a great fit with your getting sober. Overcoming that is incredibly hard and a change for the better, but it really feels like your entire life needs to collapse so you can rebuild it. It's like the Phoenix being reborn from the ashes. But yeah, if the reading felt vague, it's because it was done with a vague foundation. I would say, he was two parts cold reading and 2 parts trying to work with his intuition.
Like with so many industries now, success seems to come much more easily for tarot people who are good at social media, especially tiktok. This feels like such a surface level and overly dramatic reading with so little for you to actually work with moving forward. Also I don’t know anyone in the tarot space who charges so much for such a short reading unless maybe they’re at a market or event or similarly intense, fast paced setting. I really recommend readers who are members of TABI (tarot association of the British isles), they also have a rigorous endorsement program and the facility to get free email readings from members.
You got all that in 10mins, I paid 25 for an hour and it was definitely more about everything in my life an not just one thing, also when tarot says baby it may not necessarily mean an actual human baby but a business or something that could be your ‘baby’ I would definitely agree that you find someone that will give a longer tarot reading and give you more information and not focus on one particular topic
I think tarot and all the 'psychic' things are a load of crap sadly, as the idea of them is pretty cool 😅 but also I dislike people who claim to be psychics because they often end up preying on vulnerable people. I have used tarot my whole life, and it is an incredible tool for reflecting and connecting with yourself, but it doesn’t tell you that specific events will happen like a break up or your business partner be shady… I also wouldn’t agree with most of his interpretations of the cards.

Absolutely. Imagine how bad it can be when people pay someone for services like this and take business advice like investments etc. It's awful. If you want to take hold of your life and talk to somebody about it--seek out a life-coach and/or a therapist. It's practical and can help you become more of an agent in your life.
As a tarot reader, I kind of get the impression that he wanted to fit your reading into a general story that makes sense to most people. I generally coach people before I read for them, and I explain how tarot isn't about prediction, HOWEVER if something is highlighted to me that you need to pay attention to in the future, I will tell you. I disagree with some of this person's interpretation of the cards - there's no good or bad in tarot. The cards tell a cohesive story, and the basic meaning of the sun as being the best card makes my blood boil. It's one of my least favourite cards, because when you fly too close to the sun, you get burned. But hey... I didn't do the reading, and I'm not trying to discredit him. Your friend's interpretation of the tower is closer to how I read it. Anyway, it's an experience, I'm sure, and I hope you enjoyed it as a lesson.

I've been into tarot for a couple of years now and I've personally found that the cards give me a lot of comfort, guidance, and insight when I'm experiencing a difficult situation, but that it's not super useful to do long-term readings. A lot can change during a year and in my experience, tarot cards really capture the moment :)

I’m a professional tarot reader for almost 9 years and I can’t watch this because it’s terribly frustrating when I hear about him misleading and miss reading the cards! I would read for anyone and even if I’m a long standing follower/subscriber I would never say things that I already know about the influencer! Also tarot isn’t really for prediction either! okay thank you for saying this! im NOT a professional or even super experienced but i am familiar enough with the basic meanings of the cards that i was like "where tf is he getting this?" lol also if he was indeed just throwing spaghetti at the wall, to instill distrust in both her business and romantic partner is (i was gonna say unethical but) like straight up evil
also the fact that he didn’t use all 78 card, but only 24 of them, like WTF?!

I’m not an expert, but his interpretation of the cards seemed shallow and obviously rushed. You can get better, more insightful readings for free all over You Tube for free. I don’t get why this guy is so popular. There are so many more talented readers out there. The most accurate readings will always be the ones you do for yourself. You just need a small amount of knowledge to do one. ❤

I'm a reader and I hate when other readers say you can't read for yourself. Once you let go of biased opinion it's easy.
I agree a lot of readers are better than what I have seen here and missing appointments... Does not reflect well on any professional in any field.
Only issue I have with UA-cam readings is that they are not personal.
The minute you told me he did fertility readings I was all out. So cruel to play with people's emotions by letting them believe you have any actual insight into their fertility journey. It's difficult enough!

I enjoy using tarot cards for journal prompts. I don't really have any expectations when it comes to predictions. I have only had a professional reading once and I enjoyed the experience. I have had an encounter with a psychic too (not requested) which I really did not enjoy so I am a bit hesitant about stuff like this. Going to the wrong person can really get in your head.

I feel like a reading like this can be a self fulfilling prophecy. Someone who wholeheartedly believes and got that interpretation of the tower and their relationship could easily start overthinking their partners behaviour etc and therefore end the relationship. I think tarot is interesting but idk if I can respect this kind of reading.
As someone how has been reading tarot for a couple of decades now (not professionally, although I read for other people a lot) I've observed that this type of tarot reader often develops their own shorthand with the cards, which allows them to read very quickly and automatically and without really tuning in a lot. For example, for a reader like that Knight of Cups = charming but deceitful lover. Emperor - male love interest, etc. This is akin to taking a very complex language and whittling it down to a few basic words, and then applying them in every single situation. I will say that it's very hard to comment on a reading as an outsider, because each reader has their process, their relationship with the cards, how and where the cards fell, etc. I will say that the better a reader is at framing questions when working with the cards, the better and more accurate the answers will be. Throwing cards for the upcoming year without much structure can result in a muddled, only partially accurate reading (and trying to do that in 10 minutes is honestly crazy to me). It's always best to have a few areas of focus and draw cards specific to that area. Because each card has so many meanings, even if the reader has a powerful intuition, being more specific with the reading is always helpful. Doesn't mean you have to tell them everything, but at least say - let's take a look at your love life, your business, etc. I'm not surprised you're still with your business partner - Knight of Cups and King of Swords don't typically speak of betrayal (it may be a different story if the reader is using reversals, but even then that's an unlikely interpretation). It's more likely that your business partner came to you with an idea you both bonded over, or that you had a good emotional or creative connection initially, and that they bring a certain level of maturity and a clear, balanced perspective to your business - they may be good with numbers and the small print, as well as legal matters, finances and technology. With the Emperor and Ace of Wands, it could mean a passionate connection with a partner, but to me it spoke more about you taking more ownership and leadership in your life, creating better structures, organizing your inner self and your outer environment and feeling a greater sense of creativity and empowerment. The Ace speaks of a beginning of something that hasn't yet formed, but the Emperor is great about creating frameworks and stabilization - so it looks like you had to be in that Emperor energy to allow for new inspiration, energy and creativity to come in. As to the Lovers - there are absolutely many ways to interpret that card, in fact very commonly it speaks about synergy and choices, and not necessarily romantic ones. The Tower isn't the "worst" card - there is no such thing in Tarot. Every card is important because it's there to teach us something, and sometimes the lessons are harder or easier, but none are "bad". The Tower speaks of the necessary falling apart of something - often a person's belief system or habits, but again, you have to see the context in which it fell. I've had the Tower come up when someone got cancer, when someone's house was literally struck by lighting, or when they had the most transformative experience that changed their whole life for the better. This is why using the tarot in a very limited, rudimentary way leads to limited readings. In general, responsible readers are very careful with predicting death, illness or pregnancy - and similar things - because of how impressionable clients can be, and especially in a general reading like this where you're not really focusing the reading on anything but a long period of time (tarot is notoriously unreliable when it comes to timing, though there are ways of making it more accurate). But yeah, 16 cards in 10 minutes won't get you a lot of depth unfortunately, especially from someone who likely has a very surface understanding of the cards. And never get a reading from someone who boasts to be the most accurate reader ever. A good reader will always be very humble and responsible with how they deliver information, because the aim of a good reading is not to "predict" what will happen, but to help the client make more empowered, positive choices. This way we are supporting the client's agency, first and foremost.

I’m a tarot reader so I love this!!! I’ve predicted lots for clients I’ve read for 😊 and I love seeing videos like this but I never do any fertility or pregnancies readings ! I would interpret the eight of wands of new energy coming quick and new opportunities, but something fast! It’s interesting that he spoke a lot about your business and less about your life which is shocking to me as a tarot reader 😭😭😭 you should get a reading by another reader like elbat did because prediction based readings aren’t the best as someone who reads people and big groups! 😊
I'm not sure what i think about readings, but the "weirdest" thing I've heard to come out of one is from my mum's late partner. Mum found the tape from his last reading before he died and she started listening to it, and in it he asked about mum and the psychic said she didn't see her in his future. but mum stopped listening at that point because she realized it was something she should not be listening to. but to this day we wonder if he knew he was going to die.
(it wasn't anything traumatic he just went to sleep on the boat he was skippering at the time and didn't wake up... the traumatic part was we got the call during Christmas dinner (but not on Christmas we were having it early). Ultimately i guessed correctly that it was his breakfast that got him, coroner's report said build-up of fatty acid (usually cholesterol) on his lungs? though it might of been heart, this happened end of 2009 so my memory is a bit hazy and I was 12.)
I'm a new tarot reader since about 3 years ago & only pursued it because when I first decided to try it out, I asked people to be brutally honest lol & they would all say they were shocked at my accuracy. Even though I was a skeptic basically my entire life, tarot just makes sense to me now. Many times, the cards I've pulled for myself too provided answers I didn't believe until they actually happened. As others have said in the comments, cards have various meanings based on images, order, symbols, the readers own knowledge. Your reaction kinda sounds like he doesn't realize how he affects people with what he says or he's just not taking his business serious, not connected to his heartspace to HELP people. Like coaching "gurus" that are only seeking to benefit themselves.
On another note, your reaction made me realize that I also tend to get vague messages when doing readings live, because I feel rushed. I think I prefer doing video recordings where I don't know anything about the person or what they look like. For some reason, people on live calls want to explain everything behind what their tarot question is lol which I wish they wouldn't, because then I don't know if the reading is based on what they've said or if I would've gotten the same messages without them telling me.

Nor really a fan of physics and readings, I think it can sometimes end up praying on people at their most vulnerable, however, I when I was training to be a counsellor I had a teacher who used to work on a cancer ward. Long story short, she would talk to people who's medical history she didn't know and say "I can feel a fog over here" and it would turn out their cancer had returned. Very morbid but she put it down to just advanced empathy, I don't really have another explanation for it and wonder if that's where it can come from?
Broad predictive readings are less than great. Its best to choose one aspect of your life, like business or romance or family. He focused on business because you gave him that thread to weave. The Tower is kind of like the Death card in that it's a card of change. The Tower in my opinion is all about uncomfortable or difficult change. It may seem like a catastrophe but the aftermath always brings us to a better place. I would say that The Tower in your reading is a great fit with your getting sober. Overcoming that is incredibly hard and a change for the better, but it really feels like your entire life needs to collapse so you can rebuild it. It's like the Phoenix being reborn from the ashes. But yeah, if the reading felt vague, it's because it was done with a vague foundation. I would say, he was two parts cold reading and 2 parts trying to work with his intuition.
Like with so many industries now, success seems to come much more easily for tarot people who are good at social media, especially tiktok. This feels like such a surface level and overly dramatic reading with so little for you to actually work with moving forward. Also I don’t know anyone in the tarot space who charges so much for such a short reading unless maybe they’re at a market or event or similarly intense, fast paced setting. I really recommend readers who are members of TABI (tarot association of the British isles), they also have a rigorous endorsement program and the facility to get free email readings from members.
You got all that in 10mins, I paid 25 for an hour and it was definitely more about everything in my life an not just one thing, also when tarot says baby it may not necessarily mean an actual human baby but a business or something that could be your ‘baby’ I would definitely agree that you find someone that will give a longer tarot reading and give you more information and not focus on one particular topic
I think tarot and all the 'psychic' things are a load of crap sadly, as the idea of them is pretty cool 😅 but also I dislike people who claim to be psychics because they often end up preying on vulnerable people. Like, for instance, people who claim to be able to talk to the dead. Just think it's so cruel and manipulative

I have used tarot my whole life, and it is an incredible tool for reflecting and connecting with yourself, but it doesn’t tell you that specific events will happen like a break up or your business partner be shady… I also wouldn’t agree with most of his interpretations of the cards.

Absolutely. Imagine how bad it can be when people pay someone for services like this and take business advice like investments etc. It's awful. If you want to take hold of your life and talk to somebody about it--seek out a life-coach and/or a therapist. It's practical and can help you become more of an agent in your life.
As a tarot reader, I kind of get the impression that he wanted to fit your reading into a general story that makes sense to most people. I generally coach people before I read for them, and I explain how tarot isn't about prediction, HOWEVER if something is highlighted to me that you need to pay attention to in the future, I will tell you.
I disagree with some of this person's interpretation of the cards - there's no good or bad in tarot. The cards tell a cohesive story, and the basic meaning of the sun as being the best card makes my blood boil. It's one of my least favourite cards, because when you fly too close to the sun, you get burned. But hey... I didn't do the reading, and I'm not trying to discredit him.
