I knew I had heard him executing a perfect trill in one of the recordings on youtube. I love Gobbi singing this piece.

You should also listen to Eugenio Giraldoni, the first Scarpia. He performs the most perfect trills I've ever heard from a baritone in Roderigo's death aria in Don Carlo: ua-cam.com/video/qgQu1peInj4/v-deo.html&si=EnSIkaIECMiOmarE&t=3m44s
Enrico Molinari also had pretty good fioritura, which you can hear in his renditions of "Cruda, funesta smania", "Dunque io son" and through his performances as Di Luna in "Il Trovatore".

My favorite baritone forever... such artistry and interpretation.

He's so respectful of the score, even Caballe would be impressed.

Not one of his best performances.

I've listened to it twice, and I'm still looking for deficiencies, either in execution or interpretation. Would you provide technical analysis to support your opinion?
