He looks pissed off all the time. That's my favorite thing about him
Most of it was an act you know. Debra Harry even says so. In one of the Ramones bio videos there is a clip of him signing an autograph for some guy in suit at the airport. Johnny is acting all nice and is even gracious and smiles at the guy when he gives him the autograph. Then Johnny turns and realizes Marky is filming him and he immediately puts on the classic Johnny scowl. It was mostly an act.
***** Well, show me the evidence because I'm incredulous
***** there no better riff maker in the world other than malcolm young
Johnny Charisma Yes!
That's not "an act". He always didn't like Marky filming him.
Dee Dee and Joey were the heart of the Ramones but Johnny sure was the brains. I always admired him for his discipline, patriotism and sensibility.
I love how out of place the Ramones look in some places
I've never heard a single person even try to imitate Joey's singing style, he was 100% unique from top to bottom. A few bands have imitated Dee Dee's songwriting style, but they generally sound like they're doing a tribute. But Johnny... his chainsaw guitar sound spread like a virus and it's been EVERYWHERE for decades now. IMO he's the one that left the biggest mark, the biggest bruise on rock, the biggest legacy to the world. Too bad his politics were absolute SHIT, but hey, nobody's perfect. =P
@@Druffmaulhis politics were excellent. Punk rock is becoming quite hippyish, with cultish styles and conforming woke/hipster opinions becoming required or … you’re cancelled. That the Ramones existed given the diversity of their views is unheard of today. And there’s nothing wrong with being a patriot. The world needs more patriots instead of woke idiots who complain about their countries non stop.
@@ellimick5958 His Politics were shit, tho, he supported Reagan, arguably the worst president in the history of the United States, and there is nothing wrong with talking shit about your country of birth. Nowadays, in the year 2024, its physically impossible to like any country, its just how it is.
he had such a new york accent
Mike Lomino, of course why wouldn't he! Sorry just making a point
@@videojeffrobetustak5129 hahahHaha. so if he was born and lived in NY.. why his NY accent?😂
Really, he's the Ramone without a heavy accent. Marky has a heavy accent
such a new york accent....for a German
@Yes No it actually was and still is 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Johnny had hair that was as uniformed as his guitar playing...nice! RIP Ramones they may be gone but long from being forgotten..
Seb Web10 atleast they are at a level where they can be remembered pr forgotten. you sir are a person that virtually no one gives a fuck about or will ever!
Johnny looking like he stepped straight out of The Standells in 1966. Such a cool man always.
😂
Very cool very Queens he has his integrity
Haha, Johnny was always so serious. One of the best guitar players ever.
Proof that you only need 3 cords and attitude to write a good song
😂😂😂😂😂 Maybe for his downpicking technique
But that's about it 😂😂😂
It's just that he was the perfect guy for the band.
@@fullskapunkalchemist3471 except barely any ramones songs had 3 chords.. most had way more than 3
@@rackaid14 Yeah, 4... 5...
They were invited back in 1983 but declined. "Were not going to play any more hippie festivals." Johnny. "They offered us a lot of money but we declined." Dee Dee.
John Householder That sounds like something the Ramones would do. That crowd is not for them.
I was there.
Derrick Mims yep I remember both of them but no one talks about the 1982 version for some reason.
wrong
I saw that interview but i cant find it now and its driving me crazy
One of my favs guitar player....miss ya , Johnny.
I love his voice he sounded so cute
jhonny argentina te ama donde quieras que estes!!!!!!!
I'm a big music person and this has to be one of the best interviews of Johnny Ramone I have ever seen, to see him out of the New York setting where they know the fans and the fans know The Ramones and to give a great response to the interviewer's questions is amazing...
Ramones, head and shoulders above any other bands on the bill...
Unless it was The Clash (who i think were more or less finished by then) you are right ,but who else was on the bill?
fu%$in U2? VAN HALEN? The Police? Pfff.
min 2:27 "union of rock and advanced technology...."
WOZ was already floating around the fu%$in IPOD!!! Holy sh$#!!!

He's the most gorgeous man I ever seen.
I remember a little after the event, MTV showed footage of one of their people talking to the crowd in between acts, asking who they came to see. Now, I don't know if it was deliberately hand-picked, or just coincidence, but EVERYONE they asked said they were there to see The Ramones. And going by the footage of the show, they put on a flawless performance.
Nice hat
I wish I could have been there. The video of this Ramones show is on youtube and quite awesome. RIP Johnny Ramone.
Johnny was always angry because he had to deal 24/7 with unique & charismatic (but also problematic) characters like Dee Dee & Joey... ;-)
The way I have always looked at it was that Johnny was the responsible adult in the group. He was the responsible adult working amongst troubled and childish bandmates. Sure, they had a manager...but from everything I have read, he was pretty much the inner or working manager.
@@michaelr.4878 yes and also he took the band as a serious job, he was very involved that's why he didn't like to foolish around or do drugs
@Seth Belfort lololololol!
My favorite Ramone
Heartthrob...
four five six seven all good cretins go to heaven
Honest guy. He says that he's used to playing for Ramones fans and didn't know what might happen at the show, but I've seen the performance at the US Festival and the crowd was bopping around to the music. It was a success, despite tech issues Joey had to contend with!
rip, Johnny
Bring back The US Festival! Freaking 80s The Good Old days!
There's someone in Johnny that reminds me a lot of Neil Young. Can't put my finger on it.
EVEN THOUGH I DON'T REALLY AGREE WITH HIS POLITICAL VIEWS, I STILL MISS THIS GUY.
Being a conservative and a punk. Loved that about Johnny!
Most musicians are liberal not unusual very few are conservative. Johnny ran that band and made all business decisions.
His hair is always straight out of a shampoo commercial. How?? The guy got sweaty every night and lived in a van.
He was a primper lol he was the backbone of the band but he didn't go anywhere without primping in the mirror first.
@@TT-hl5ql
More like he just had great hair.
Nah! He used Pert Plus
How does he managed to looks 18 here is beyond fuckin imagination.
Baby boy haircut but looking badass. Gorgeous.
his voice doesn't go with his look. it would seem like he would have a deep voice. still a cutie
His voice was so cute. I also love his hair ❤
That's every NE rocker. You'd think that about ace too and he sounds like squiggy
@@JBmusicart who is ace?
Omg! I think he had a beautiful face too!! 😍
Yes I can see that also. I was expecting a deeper voice. But he is much younger here
"lawge crawds"
The Stewart Copeland cameo was great at the beginning, ahh the 80's
I'd say that was a pretty pleasant Johnny actually.
Johnny was no nonsense
Their energy was crazy.
Why is he so serious? Cause it's a business and the interview is all about business. No bullshit.
R.I.Paradise Johnny!
hahaha omg he speaks like fuckin leonard from the big bang theory
Love the Ramones!
I've just noticed I've never seen Johnny smile
It was rare. I think he did in Rock & Roll High School, at _one_ point.
Legend.
Same year as the Safety Dance came out
That was 84
he looks cute
Is Joey the interviewer??
nice!
I know this was 1982, but there's something so strangely late '60s about the overall atmosphere of the surroundings. Probably because it was a festival.
he is just sitting there with the attitude: wtf am i doing here XD
no solos, no smiles
hot as hell that day...lots of red dust storms/ yuk, some folks got dreadfully ill...valley fever.
min 2:27 "union of rock and advanced technology...."
THE WOZ
Did he have a hard upbringing or something?, he always looked bit pissed off, I don't know why he couldn't get in with Joey, Joey was such a nice guy, but seeing Johnny here he seems alright too, some people just don't click.
Poor. Go figure. They talk these days about whites being priveleged. I bet Johnny would have a word or two about that.
There's always much more that we don't see. Bandmates spend more time with each other than anyone else. Different personalities, opinions, views etc can create a lot of tension.
Johnny had a full time job even outside of performing. He really was the backbone of the group. He was the glue. There was also the elephant in the room with him and Joey.. Johnny took Joey's gf of two years.
Watch end of the century he said he was a bad kid every minute of the day his friend said he saw johnny punch a grown man in the face when they were kids haha
Jonny thought he was the leader of the Ramones but he wasn't 😊
Is the first 2 seconds of this tape Stewart Copeland from The Police?
00:00
It is
the real ramon
Did this guy use the same barber as dave hill from slade?
Johnny constantly looks like he wants to kick somebodies ass. Probably Dee Dee's lol it's his constant look.
Was not this the first concert run/contolled/organised by computer?
How does such a Toughguy™ end up with such a high pitched voice
JOHNNY ES MI IDOLO 😍😍😎😎
?
Giga omega
Johnny Ramone's a conservative Republican.
where is his jacket !? lol
You can't even hear it! Wtf
Is Johnny from Russia or the uk I forgot?
USA
The joker I can't wait to show you my toys
you must be a moron
He's from NY
His father was from Ireland. His mom was ucranian - polish.
D.E.P. Querido Johnny.
Anyone know how to get hair like him? Mine's long too but it just doesnt look like his.
+DungeonGaming Type Bowl cut in google.. :)
Thank you, it helped.
+DungeonGaming Did you end up getting it in the end..?
He's got Japanese straight hair
Of course he was a Nixon sympathizer; they had the same nose.
Wow, his hairstyle is awful.
Eh, on the average person it may be but it really fit johnny. Normally, someone with that hair style looks like a kid and probably physically weak but johnny manged to still lool pretty tough even with that hair. He really pulled it off.
@@Wasev yeah, he did 😂😂
Good thing he didn't care what idiots like you thought about the way they looked...
It’s classic, he owns that hairstyle
He looks like George Harrison.
