Love it. The intro's 4 times longer than the interview. Actually, after the interview he takes longer to tell us about his next mystery guest than the interview was.
Marky is the one that wore/wears a wig. edit: actually there are two times that Johnny had to wear a wig: after emergency brain surgery circa 1986 or 1987 (he was the victim of an assault in NYC, the perp was a member of a local punk band, and it was over a girl). The second time was at the end of his life after chemo- so, around 2003 or 2004. Not sure when this video was made.
0:56 when Johnny smiles the world is like a perfect place for an instant. 😢

I know! It's the epitome of the absurd! 😅
I'm glad I've seen both Sonic Youth and the Ramones live.
Lucky you man!
Me too! Cheers!
Same.
Same here!... so glad!
Me too. Loved in Queens in the 70s and 80s. Sold Ludes to Dee Dee pretty regularly. 😎
This is hilarious! How did I not know about this at the time!
Interview is about as short as a Ramones song! lol
Is actually longer than Judy Is A Punk 1992 live version lmao
Weird hearing him laugh
He laughed a lot and it was unique
0:55 when all of us answer if we are gay lmao Guy just asked a punk rocker what his favorite fashiow designer
This is filmed on Jersey Street right around the corner from where Thurston and Kim Gordon lived.
I never really liked models wow I'm impressed johnny
Great stuff ! Never seen this one !
I hate it when talk shows get huge budgets and production and fall out of touch with the common man
Haha it's funny hearing laugh! always with a angry face😡
That wig😂😂😂

They couldn't be more different politically but always got along

They look and talk alike.
Thurston may well have been influenced by Johnny as to his haircut; as for speech, they are both from NYC.
Legendas
😍
ดีครับ oi
Glad Beck knew he was a tool and put thurston in his smug arrogant place… the video can be found on UA-cam it’s genius!
uwu
Cringe but I like it
I thought cringey was when you know better and they aren't self aware?
With respect, that appears to be exactly the reverse situation here?
I need to know more about what this is
an interview from the mid-90's from a show called "Thurston's Alley"
duo doing theme song blow, nyc crap
I still don’t get Sonic Youth. I tried a few times but it sounds like shite to me. Guess I don’t have the gene. My loss.
Took me years to get it
I didnt like them until i started listening to and playing noise rock. However the indifferent vocals can hit or miss for some.
You gave it your best
Maybe it’s just shit?
I fell in love with Sonic Youth since the first time i heard them, amazing band amazing music
