    Hi, it is a good attempt but there are two mistakes in your analysis.
    1.As per IS 2502 minimum bending radius should be kd i.e 4d for HYSD. So for 10mm bar you should use 80mm dia bending pin at center to get accurate dimensions.
    2. We deduct 2d or 3d from total length of bar taken from top of L to bottom of bend and face of L to end of the bar.the bend of reinforcement is not perfect 90 but a curve so we need to deduct (k+1)d × 2 and add 0.5×3.14×(K+1)d.

    The deduction of 2D has to do with the Measuring concept when applied to the BBS. Its Deducted on the BAsis that the measurements we note down in the BBS is the Nominal Cover measurement. so what u got is half. Double all your increase in length and then check ..its perfectly 2 D and 3D.....IF the Measurement was to do with Centre then no deductions' would have required.

      You are completely telling about theory...... Actually he is telling right.... this should be apply for any measurement of respective steel dia .... No matter it is straight, curvy in shape... If you are bending 45°-1D, 90°-2d, 135°-3d, should be proved by theoretically......

    Yes you are right thumb rule is not true but result what you tested is also differ when brand as well as type of steel changes I also tested on my site.

    You are taking for straight rod , not for rectangular stirrups, for stirrups it will be bend twice to make a complete stirrups , hope u understood

    Ring me centre line length nehin badha hoga mere hisab se.aap ring ke outer edge se napi lie hai, inner edge se bhi napi kariye aur center line length ko bhi.

      Maine outer line se measure kiya fir bhi wo 2D ya 3D ke hisab se nahi mila usse kam mila...Socho agr centre line se measure krta to abhi jitna difference aya h usse bhi zyada difference ata....Outer line se kiya half value mil rahi h 2D ki...Agr center se nikalta h to half bhi nahi milti

    Suppose if you a make a square stirrup, you need to bend 4 x 90 degree bends and 2x 130 degree bend. In such case cut length will be, say 2x2D+3D as per your demo. E.g. Deduction length= (10mmx4)+(15mmx2) for using 10mm. Dia. rebar. Am I right?.

    Bro you have taken outer length but actually if you take inner length and take the mean length then you will get no change in length.

    But u measured the outer surface.. whereas u need to measure the center line.. accuracy cannot be achieved by any means..

    Your measurements is only in handy elongation length. I think which is not match in practically placing length in actual structure.
