Houki is a genin , in the ANBU Black Ops & has an eye that’s not sharingan but can memorize Any image he sees which means he can copy your handsigns after see it ONCE! This is why Kakashi loves him so much!

The fact Houki has photographic memory makes him a natural Kakashi, no sharingan needed to copy jutsus.

The main point of using the Sharingan to copy jutsus isn't so that you have 1 more jutsu to use later. It's to anticipate the jutsu that your opponent is gonna use, and beat them to the punch with their own jutsu. Of course, this requires you to be faster than your opponent at weaving hand signs, which is something that simply takes practice.
@@MCSPARTAN501 other than movement analysis , genjutsu and smooth flow , houki still can learn the handsigns just by seeing , yes it's true that he cannot exactly use it on the point like Kakashi used to do with sharingan but he is still awesome . He's almost like kid Kakashi . Plus his photographic memory helps him memorize terrain and plan attacks for later , something neither of dojustu in the whole shinobi series has shown. He's also got good deduction skills , skills of anbu (just like Kakashi) and mind transfer resist.
What makes it unfair is actually his large manapool as a genin.

A key detail, when Houki used his earth style, Iwabe commented and was surprised by the sheer volume Houki put out. It's impressive because Iwabe's considered the best earth style user, also being 2 years above the rest. However, Houki's second use of earth style broke a lot easier, which implies that he used the majority of his chakra for the first jutsu, especially since he only relied on Kunais and memory from then on.
I love it when folks use their big-brains to appreciate what the writers and directors do

This guy's the most ninja acting ninja we've had in the show for a long time. Creating tough terrain for the enemy to use and hiding in it, all while memorizing the terrain itself so he is always at the advantage within it. That, and he can actually hurt enemies with Kunai. He has Kakashi's style with the mask and the headband over one eye, and his goal is to become Hokage. This guy is an anime protagonist, and only he knows it.

@@kakashihatake4139 Yeah by the whole team to cover it up. That looked like an itachi attack rather than a simple counter. Sai and the others agreed that wasn't normal. His clan has a doujitsu that's selective. I'm banking on that's why he has it covered.

i like houki because he's not one of those wannabe that copy kakashi's style just because it looks cool and then went full on arrogant. he actually want to be like him and as strong as him, and backs it up with hardwork and training. i hope he appear often and they explore his story because he definitely got potential to be a good character.
And born with a great gift photographic memory of that lvl where he can copy hand signs from one look and read details on very look alike walls and tell the difference at such speed is far beyond training this kid has potential

This fight was actually a lot better than I anticipated lol. The animation was quite fluid and pretty clean as well. Houki displayed amazing qualities for a chuunin. So did inojin as well icl. But did anyone notice the Houki had Intel on Inojins abilities but Inojin refused to get some on Houki? Ain't even bad for Houki to know tbh, but it does show how much stronger Inojin has gotten. So hyped for the next fights🔥🔥🔥
Yeah; it was a really good fight. I especially like how Inojin fared better here than he did against the puppet user in the previous exams; he showed a lot of growth even if he still ultimately lost (and I'm glad that Houki won as I was rooting for Houki).

I like houki because unlike most people from the original Naruto’s class and many others in boruto, he doesn’t have any kekkei genkai, hidden jutsu, or tailed beast. He’s an ordinary person who is inspired by cool famous ninja, so he works hard from the very bottom and becomes strong enough to fight someone with 2 unique jutsus
To be fair, photographic memory is as powerful as half of the Konoha 11s secret jutsu. Like I’d take that over Akamaru in a fight any day.

Inojin has a big arsenal to rely on but he never does. He knew kenjustu, sensory, and one of the strongest sealing justu in the series. Also medical nin to heal himself. I feel like he uses his dad's justu too much then used his mothers as a last ditch effort. Which is why he loses his battles.
Not To Mention Literally All He Had To Do Was Go Up. Could Have Drawn Birds Just Like Sai And Had Aerial Advantage.(I Know That Means He'd Be Over Relying, But At The Same Time He Lost Cause Of Battle IQ).

Inojin problem is he’s cocky. He acts like sai but is cocky like Ino
if i was inojin, i would've laced the entire battlefield with explosives to flush my opponent out and prevent him from memorizing the area. once i get him out, i'd use mind transfer since i only have one shot at it.
Team 25 deserves more screentime, all 3 of them look really cool and it could have been awesome if they showed their efforts as anbu members more.
Team 15 has been developing throughout the series. Wasabi is about to get moment next episode, which I’m grateful for. She’s one of my favorite characters in the series

They may be genin but they’ve been getting their hands dirty since ep 115 when they became a true team. They were skillful enough that they entered the hidden rain to get intel on Kara before Sasuke and Sai took their info to do more hands on research.
That really reminded me of when Kakashi did that super fast hand signs on the Zabuza arc I think. Houki is definitely no.1 Kakashi Fanboy, all he need to complete his training to become more like Kakashi is to just simply just read Jiraiya's book

He was not predicting his opponent’s hand signs and then doing them faster than his opponent. Not the same thing at all. This is why I’m certain that he will fight Sarada. He will beat her not because his eyes are better but because he is more skilled. They will clearly demonstrate that he has nothing on the sharingan.

@@kregy1162 This is true but there are no natural basic eyes capable of keeping up with the sharingan’s ability to replicate or predict an opponent’s ability. What he is tying to say is that this child’s ability to memorize his environment and other things allows him to keep up with someone who can predict and mimic every move he makes before he makes it. Genjutsu is not working on this kid that’s a fact waiting to be proven and he out thinks Sarada 100%. What could this kid possibly memorize for him to take the advantage over his opponent besides the battlefield?? The way I see it, his memory only benefits him when he has time to study everything his opponent can do. Mitsuki pointed this out before the battle started by directly asking Houki if he was planning on studying his opponent when Houki asked if the proctors were going to tell him who he would be fighting.
I almost forgot this show was about ninjas until Houki reminded me with his how "ninja" he really is lol.
Naruto/Boruto was not really about ninja but more like wizards who act like they are ninjas.
I’m glad Mini Kakashi won and didn’t lose to plot armour. I hope he becomes one of the main side characters of the series.

Hoki and his team with the Anbus , Sumire with the Scientific Ninja Weapons Team , Ino with the Sensory and Intelligence Division.
The anime is fully aware Konoha is not just the Hokage.
He's gonna be shown off like hes super strong but becomes instant fodder when it actually matters like your typical Naruto/Boruto side character.

Houki and Inojin would be such a dangerous duo when I think about it. Imagine this. If Inojin learns his mothers jutsu where she can relay info to anyone, Houki can use this jutsu, and then Inojin can use Houki’s memory to send that info to his teammates who are also in this maze, and they could really screw a villain over in that maze since Houki, Inojin and whoever would be with them would know the layout

Still, he just has normal eyes. The Sharingan has exceptional kinetic perception, but there are limits to what Houki can perceive. That's why he's memorizing stationary terrain rather than copying handsigns and taijutsu. And no way he could instantly mirror his opponent's moves like with a three-tomoe.

Neji at least died as a hero protecting his comrades, but Kiba, Shino and Lee were done the most dirty, other not much actually as these 3. Shikamaru got great development, Chouji and Ino was decent too. But Lee, Kiba and Shino....sad.

Houki is becoming one of my favorite characters in Boruto, because he sees Kakashi as a role model (who wouldn't tbh in the Naruto world) and literary knows what he is doing, can remember everything just by looking at it once and i would love to see what he has to offer if we ever see more of him in the future

When he fought Inojin, he remains calm and tactical because he knew Inojin's skillset and knowing how lethal his Yamanaka jutsu is.
Inojin on the other hand at the very first seconds of their fight, throw stuff that literally just distracts opponents.
Which gave Houki the hint of it, thus him summoning his Earth Domain like Jutsu, to distract Inojin on a large-scale.

Inojin has gotten stronger, but he shouldn't rely too much on his art. Gotta learn some kenjutsu and taijutsu.

Inojin has a big arsenal to rely on but he never does. He knew kenjustu, sensory, and one of the strongest sealing justu in the series. Also medical nin to heal himself. I feel like he uses his dad's justu too much then used his mothers as a last ditch effort. Which is why he loses his battles.

@@0marren Sensor is not much help in a 1v1 as it leaves him valuable and Hoki was alredy attacking him at that point so he wouldn't have been able to set it up
Houki can remember anything he has seen only once? He has built in sharingan. He can be the next copy ninja if he sees the signs of a jutsu.
Sharingan is way more than just copying, though. It perceives motion and can even predict motion before it happens, it can track high speed movement, and sees in incredible detail. Even if Houki can perfectly recall everything he sees, he just has normal eyes. If motions are too fast, it will just be a blur to him.
It is like a one tomoe sharingan, but without the genjutsu part. Not nearly as strong as a sharingan

The super beast scroll jutsu as a whole is pathetic.
I wish Houki's team was part of the main group. I find his team intriguing and really well balanced. We have the classic speed tactician type, the mage/necro puppet user, and the tank. Wish they were featured more, and maybe team up with Boruto's team for a small arc so they can have some of that sweet sweet spotlight of screentime.
I wanna see what the female member can do. That team really intrigued me. But all in all I wanna see all teams flourish tbh.
