This was thoroughly enjoyable. Really like having the friend in studio and also that you don’t take up screen space with your faces and just focus on the game components. Excellent!
For a game that is essentially tracks-on-tracks-on-tracks, this playthrough was pretty fun! Testiment to the quality of your work and the benefit of playing with friends. I enjoyed this very much :)
I am certainly not alone with this style, but I appreciate the kind words. In particular, The Brother's Murph were an inspiration for me to do the first of these playthrus with physical components and multiple cameras.
:D I've had Dave in mind to bring in on these for months now and I'm glad we finally made it happen. We recorded a Terra Nova playthru right after this, so that'll be coming out soonish as well :)
Thanks for making this video! I've been trying to decide whether this goes on my wishlist or not, and there's just been basically no videos for it whatsoever! Update: You convinced me to buy it before 25 minutes.
Jonathan thanks again for the game explanation. Very nice to see you play it together with Dave. I've been looking around for a game for my birthday for two weeks now. Next week December 21 is my birthday and now I found the game, thanks to you and Dave. This is a game that I doesn't really know the mechanics yet. And the replayability is great too. Many of the B signs really appealed to me. Thanks, thanks, thanks
An interesting game. I like a little more meat on the bones for my industrial-themed games, but I do like this more than Tapestry, which this perhaps most resembles.
I wouldn't categorize it as a flip and write. In some ways it does feel abit like Ganz Schon clever and Hadrian's Wall with all the bouncing around of effects. But the action selection system much more reminds me of variable worker placement, even though you don't actually deny spaces from opponents you do still have to weigh the relative cost of letting them gain school tile activations.
For a game that is literally just a bunch of tracks, that was a supisingly fun playthrough to watch. That action selection mechanism is really nice and led to some juicy decisions. I can imagine this game not being that great for the AP prone gamers out there though. . .
I liked the tracks, but I love the action selection mechanism. I've played 3 times now and the decisions that row of cards throws at me continues to grab me. I am somewhat AP prone and in general I haven't had a huge problem with the tracks, I'll say that I've played 3p games in 90m where the tother 2 people were new so it hasn't overstayed its welcome for me yet.
Nice play. I saw it at Essen, but it didn't look all that interesting during the walk by. Definintely looks interesting seeing it being played. The B boards look way better.
The B boards do look interesting, though I have enjoyed all 3 full A games so far. I imagine I won't play full A again, it'll be random for me from this point on.
GG Jon. This game feels very fun. I need to find a copy. Tho it looks a bit... dated for 2022 game. Side note: The sound of the video was a bit quieter.
I certainly do try to troll Jon nearly every chance I get but this is not one of those times. At least I wasn't intending it but maybe subconsciously....
c'mon Jon!!! I was looking for a playthrough of this game a couple of weeks ago to help me out with demoing Rise at PAX Unplugged but I couldn't find any and now you come out with one after the fact :(
@@GettingGames it's fine. I ended up demoing Terra Nova instead for the con. Excellent playthrough as always. Going to do a first time play tonight and it gave me some good tips.
Jon what are you doing to my finances!!, this is the third consecutive playthrough of yours I've watched and then had to buy the game at the end :) I swear you should be on commission. I love you but my wallet does not ;)

That's great to hear, glad you enjoyed it :)

I really like your playthru with friends videos. AFAIK nobody else does it like you do, with multiple angles and quality editing

I really enjoy these playthru's with friends! Welcome Dave, loved your commentary along the way :)

Looks like a really fun track bumping game. Well played.

I'm glad you enjoyed this one, it was fun bringing Dave in for the first time. I hope you enjoy the game, and happy birthday (ahead of time)!
Oh yay, more friends! Definitely adding Tracks: The Game to my wishlist. Those pop off turns are so exciting!
Agreed, I'm glad you enjoyed this one!
Looking forward to watching this! Nice to get some more of your friends in the mix.
Jon you never disappoint! Love all your stuff. I need to calculate up how many game I bought just from watching one of your videos.
:D Thanks for the kind words, I'm glad you enjoyed this!
Just went thru all videos. Your responsible for 52 of the games I have bought. Would be much higher of course if I had more money. ❤🔥🙏
Can’t wait for the next play of this game!
An interesting game. I like a little more meat on the bones for my industrial-themed games, but I do like this more than Tapestry, which this perhaps most resembles.
Tapestry is a good call. I was thinking Ganz Schon Clever.
Ganz Schon Clever and Tapestry have both been in our conversations while playing this one, I certainly see what you are both getting at.
This looks interesting. I like that action selection mechanism.
Thanks for the playthrough, top quality as always. Really like this series. Rise is essentially a flip and write, right?

Hey Jon! Great play through! Now I need to buy this game! What’s your honest opinion about it?
I quite enjoyed it, just talked about it a bunch in my most recent update vlog :) ua-cam.com/video/uYUpFwwkXGE/v-deo.html
That was surprisingly fun, for a game downvoted to 6.8 rating on bgg for being supposedly tracks with no theme
Nice play. I saw it at Essen, but it didn't look all that interesting during the walk by. Definintely looks interesting seeing it being played. The B boards look way better.

By the way, Jon, did you notice Dave was constantly trolling you - or maybe paying you an homage - by saying "after considering all of my options..."
Ha, I did notice at one point yeah :P Dave and I have been playing games together for a decade at least, so that may be part of it too :P
I certainly do try to troll Jon nearly every chance I get but this is not one of those times. At least I wasn't intending it but maybe subconsciously....
Hahaha that’s funny!
After a decade of playing together it’s just natural to pick up each others habits and unique quirks/sayings lol
c'mon Jon!!! I was looking for a playthrough of this game a couple of weeks ago to help me out with demoing Rise at PAX Unplugged but I couldn't find any and now you come out with one after the fact :(
I only just got the game a week and a half ago, sorry it wasn't in time to help you out. I hope you enjoyed it, still :)

Hi :) so which is better Rise or Khora?
I never actually got the chance to try Khora, so I can't say.
Pole, it seems.
Let's watch this baby 😋
Is that a white top hat for politics? I have been thinking it was a coffee cup .
Yeah, it's a top hat.
