Sad story but, the way he tells it, is Funny as Fugg! Patrice is / was the Glencloff Johnson of comedy, he's not the best but, he is the one the best are compared to!

My first time going to a comedy club was in '02, Rich Vos was the host and Patrice was middling. First timer so they put us in the front the front row. I was roasted by the goat on my first trip to a club. I'll never forget that night. Also Vos was hilarious too.

16:00 you couldn’t get it more wrong. He said he wouldn’t do the show because it wasn’t about health, it was about washed up celebs trying to come back. He said he would do it if it was just for health but he didn’t wanna be categorized as desperate has-been celeb.

I have listened & re-listened to hundreds and hundreds of hours of Patrice O'Neal over the years. He made me laugh through times when no one else could. He made me trust in myself at many times when I had lost that trust. He made me not feel alone with many ideas that I believe in. It will always be a bit strange to me how I genuinely love someone that I've never met. Rest in peace, big guy. You'll never be forgotten.

      Interesting comment.
I am starting to believe that we can all amuse ourselves 100x better than any podcast, comedy show or a meme on 9gag.
But it's just easier and faster to outsource self-amusement to internet and it eventually becomes a habit/addiction trying to reach that almoast impossible goal with 2D images and listening others speak.
Listening others laught is a pale reflection of actually doing it yourself. But we all have the creativity, imagination and humor to do that same inner dialogue ourselves.
I have laughed uncontrollably for 9gag content, comedy shows and podcast moments maybe 4 times in my life, but with inner self-dialogue its almoast effortless. No one knows us better than ourselves.
There are some funny stuff worth of that brief nose pffff exhale, but maybe I am here just for the small dose of dopamine of finding new things and endless content.
So, I guess the choise we have, is to decide do we want to be passive, emotioneless and silent consumers who only seek others to entertain us, or to learn to amuse ourselves again. Do we want to become those the people who sing, dance, and actually feel that aliveness, joy and random waves of happiness.

Normally I never interact with a UA-cam video beyond watching it. Maybe throw a “like” it’s way if I found it really good and save it to a playlist for future rewatching/referencing if I feel it’s warranted. Being that you covered a person who not only I really admire, but someone who’s philosophy is exactly like mine deserves more. I am/have been Patrice before I knew of Patrice. All my adult life, people have struggled around me because I’m too confrontational and angry, when in reality, I feel I know how to navigate my life, not navigate life, but how to navigate MY LIFE. With raw and unchecked honesty. Because as far as I’m concerned without that, then all of this is pointless bullshit. Like you mentioned in the video, this man had the very enviable quality of being able to articulate his thoughts and thought process in a very consumable manner. And while I know there is no need to compose and post this message, that if any weight it may hold is strictly whatever I attach to it, because who the fuck am I? I am posting it because this absolute stranger whose path I will never cross fought for my right to spew this bullshit of mine whenever, wherever and for whatever a reason. I don’t care what you’re personal bullshit is, just admit that that is exactly what it is. YOUR PERSONAL BULLSHIT. Hate me, but do so honestly. You have done a magnificent job with this video. As such, I liked it and subscribed. I most likely may never again watch any other content of yours, but the validation and vindication I received from watching this means a lot. Carry on the good work sir.

Listening to Patrice’s on O&A and The Black Phillip helped a lot when I was dealing with severe depression and the custody battle of my kids with my then wife.
I was a simp. I did everything my ex-wife wanted and I put her on the pedestal. I was confused on why that wasn’t enough and dealing with the reality she was sleeping around.
I took Patrice’s medicine and better myself not only as a man, but as a father and a leader in my new relationship with my gf. I now have full custody of my kids and have a great relationship with my girl. I credit Patrice O’Neal for saving my life. I know it sounds weird but he really did. I now tell all my friends to listen to his ideas and input on relationships. He’s right on almost everything he said and he even predicted a lot of the shit that’s going between dynamics of men and women today. I’m happy his legacy still carries.

As a woman I think anyone who falsely accuses someone of rape, sexual harassment, domestic violence, etc. is repulsive & if there is true evidence that they are lying then they should be held accountable and charged for slander, pay a penalty, and have to make a video stating that they made horrific allegations against _____ and none of it is true etc. & post it on their social media accounts.
False accusations hinder the prosecution and conviction of actual perpetrators.

Patrice always was and always will be my favorite comedian. What a f*cking Legend! I can only imagine how he would be in todays world and he would be exactly what the world needs today. He would actually fix a lot of problems in the world today, no joke. Ok maybe thats way too far but he would at least point them out and break them down and how it should and shouldnt be and open a lot of peoples eyes to reality while being hilarious at the same time. Dude always points out the truth, points out whats bullsh*t, points out whats stupid and always does it in an intelligent way. He can be genius even when hes not trying to be funny. The way he looked at things in the world or situations or problems and broke them down was amazing.
    R.I.P. Patrice Legend O’Neal 🙏

Video pros: Bro, your content is great, & even fantastic. Your choice of clips & way of showing them in that tiny TV are great. Also, the editing of the longer clips is choice, especially on your Norm video were all incredible. You're gonna go places, I know it.
Video Cons: Just get a better mic or space yourself further from where you are on your own. It's a bit "punchy" (P words, "sh" sounds & similar things kinda boof your mic), & dim the bright flashes from the "bulb" at the top of the TV animation you use while you show clips. It is kind of distracting. NONE of this is a dig, just something that would make these great videos even greater.
