Peter, I am so glad you are back. I missed your videos. I am trying to buy the Skydio2 right now. I love my phantom 4 pro, but those passes through the trees are absolutely insane.

Great video! I know the frustration of starting the drone and screen recorder. When I had the Anafi I had to start the screen recorder first then the drone software or it would crash every time. The video loos amazing!!

Hi Peter: I've had my Skydio2 since February - gotten lots of flights in. When your phone said connection lost, did the light on the RC change color? If the light was still green, the RC was still in contact with the drone. It may be the connector on the bottom of your phone that is worn or loose. I've never had a disconnect from the RC unless I went out of range. It always regained contact on its own. I never had to turn anything off or on. Also remember that if you turn off the RC while the drone is flying, the drone will try to connect (via wifi) with your phone. You may want to do some distance checks (over an area with NO trees), comparing flying it with just your phone to flying with the RC and the phone. With the latest software/firmware update, the drone flies much more smoothly than before when you are flying with the RC. Cheers, and thanks for your videos! Oh, and what screen recorder are you using? I'll have to make sure and not use that one since it keeps exiting.
So glad to have you back Peter, it's been a long time. The skydio is a awesome drone but you may be disappointed with the distance test.

That gets the adrenaline pumping. I think Id be having a chat with the Skydio techs about this drone loosing connection at such a close distance.

Thank you for sharing videos they’re all entertaining. I see you tracking through the trees and what not, fantastic, but do you have ability to go to the trees and have the camera pans and tilt left or right and up and down whilst going straight ahead manually , no tracking, all going in a straight line? And have the drone and a 45° angle flying sideways and such and still have control of the camera? Does that mean sense? Stay safe and healthy warm regards . Ps ie as the skydo 2 flys past you have it tilt and pan down to view you and then pan back straight ahead.
Great video, I enjoy the calm and relaxed presentation! :) Was this before or after yesterday's update? to ver 6xxx app and FW? Make sure to disable phone WiFi when using the controller ;) also careful, it may not see wires and leafless branches less then 1/2"

Thanks for another great video. Question; can I use a controller but give someone else a beacon so it will track the bacon but I have controls with the phone and controller, yet the, bacon might get 500 feet away, the most important thing is will it work, Cardio track the bacon but you still control by the control? Thank you

They can hardly keep up with demand, so I think it will still take a while before they will do that.
Hi Peter: did you try screen recording with your Shield Nvidia tablet? Since its screen recording app is on a separate ROM, it might work as it should not interfere with the Skydio 2 app for using power from the main phone CPU.
Looks great,like the footage, was wondering if you ever purchased the Mavic2pro, I can fly very smoothly through trees or obstacles very easily not like my phantom 4pro, I just like hearing you talk and fly take care

Wonder what will happen if the drone is under an obstacle and it looses connection (lIke under a branch of a tree). Normally it will go up to a certain pre set height and rth.
can you do a test to understand if the data of your routes are known to others? With the phantom dji for example. How to be sure?
Goed bezig peter, Zal daar ook eens gaan vliegen ziet er mooi uit daar , alleen die power kabels!? P.s. Kun je bij de Skydio net als bij de DJI je home punt vliegend opnieuw in stellen? Zodat deze situatie (RTH in een boom) vermeden kan worden.

It's an amazing Drone and I should have mine in May? I am disappointed it is WiFi and has weak connection at short distances. I kinda made for up-close personal tracking drone or for flying in high density environments not too far away.

Peter..just watched a video of a skydio 2 losing connection and setting down in a pond..careful lol can't remember who it was but you should try and find out..
And Skydio already sent him a replacement.

Het is nog steeds een drone met veel haken en ogen, ben niet echt onder de indruk van wat ik allemaal op UA-cam zie erover in follow mode
but I can't see the quality of the footage, looks like 780 jello to be honest. Have you tried viewing it on a 4k television, hard to enjoy. Though seems regular for someone in a video quickly say "can DJI do that?"
Then moments later, get stuck, have trouble gaining control, hit a branch, power line, bridge cable, ect. and crash. This drone is hardly for anyone. I'm scared of what this will cause for issues, the industry, and rules.
Should have to do a full test and sign a disclosure, and mandate insurance for this drone. Hardly anyone even has this drone within their line of sight, too many people flying them over traffic and people. I've seen way too many risks and crashes

Yeah, Skydio clearly states not to fly around thin objects, such as lines, wires and cables lol. Pilot error.
@@BrianLambert Ya, Brain, they sure do say that but since it is mainly a flying action camera programmed to follow you those things are going to happen. I think it will miss almost everything at normal speed but when you get it going fast like in "sport" mode, it is not going to have enough time to react. Every time I think maybe I would like to buy one I see another video where the pilot has trouble.
but the most stupid is , skydio is never can ship product now...you need to wait a whole year for per-order , and paid for the full price and then continue to wait forever. you will think that is a Ponzi scheme.
