  • ~A short segment from "Star Route" shared by BringBackMyYesterday and Dee & Friends on UA-cam. Check out the Wurlitzer Jukebox shown in this segment, Model 2810, confirmed to be circa 1964.
    ~This song is known as "First Date, First Kiss, First Love", and was written by Don Welch & Mary Stovall. Singer Sonny James had a smash hit with it in 1957, Capitol Records 3674.

    Wow...this is a rare clip! He was even polished and suave at that early age. I like the song-- very catchy! Never heard this before...

      Thanks for your comment +Google User Agreed, it is an amazing early performance. Perhaps from early 1964? By the end of 1964, as you know, Glen was rockin' with The Beach Boys!

      I agree with @Google User. It sounds earlier than 1964. Whenever it was, I'm thankful you uploaded it. The quality isn't great, the blocking is weird, but it's still Glen Campbell and that's always a good thing!

    +Google User +Squee Dow Appreciate the discussion and was curious enough to re-confirm the year. The January 18, 1964 Billboard issue confirms the production period '63-'64. This is the link to the Billboard article about Star Route and 2 other shows in syndication at that time, bottom left of page 3: "3 Video C. & W. Series in Hollywood Works" @ tinyurl.com/y46mh5cf I would have thought this Star Route segment was filmed earlier, too!
