Here in the US there is constant nationwide parade of videos of people claiming they are suffering religious persecution when their PA is shut down and they are ordered to disperse from in front of schools or parks ertc.

I saw a crowd with an orange banner nearly the width of the main gate, something about child genocide on it and they and a crowd of supporters walked all the way through from the back and were escorted by police with light blue vests on , then a guard told some young bloke to fold his small flag up because no flags allowed, I couldn't believe the protest but it was fairly quiet

Such a shame we have to be concerned about peaceful demonstrations! When we had the NI, IRA issues closures were very common for safety, but luckily I managed to have a New Year meal with my wife at the post office tower before it was threatened as a target and closed. Unfortunately the enemy to Britain is not always easily distinguished so we all have to be prepared. Keep safe.

Those troopers are more than capable of defending themselves, .....it might not look good on camera , and tourists might not like it , they are soldiers first and last , the public were lucky that the police saved them

It's a public footpath in Whitehall under Westminster council not MOD , any barrier is potentially dangerous for horse and Trooper .

It seems that up to the bollards is MOD which 8s how 8t can be policed up to that point by MOD police.
However it is on occasion fences off when there is a large demonstration etc on the road area

It's bloody ridiculous, every weekend , and in most Major Cities. Even in my tiny Town, we have it every Saturday or Sunday, outside the Town Hall. Disrupting the traffic and they can be quite intimidating. I despair and worry about what the hell is happening. I'm sure the rest of the world has no idea how bad it's becoming.

I am 76yrs old and need a mobility scooter to help me getting around the shops etc.
Every weekend in our town centre you get the religious fanatics shouting through megaphones.
I have nothing against peoples or religious beliefs, but they surrounded me and were very intimidating, shouting religious crap about jesus punishing me for my sins, telling me if I follow their belief my health will greatly improve.
(I was shot in the falklands war) luckily I can still walk, but not for any distance.
When I explained this to him, he changed his tact by spouting about the evils of war.
You can't win, I had to threatened them with the police before I could get past them.
A few people came over shouting at them and they walked away.
The next weekend they were back once more..
I class myself as a fairly religious man, I visit church most Sundays, when are these people going to realise that shouting about their beliefs are put people off religion?

Lot's of residents bring their dogs thru horseguards as a daily walk. Even the troopers do it. No tourists would bring their dogs to London. It's the London residents.

My comment is about drongos bringing their untrained dogs into close proximity to horses on guard duty. If you can't see the reasoning, I cannot sufficiently explain it to you.

@elsiecook2259 Corpoal of Horse is the equivalent of a sarge in other regiments. Cavalry regiments didn't have sergeants back in the early days, and being the cavalry, they retained that tradition.
