Do you by chance know if it’s possible for a freight hauler to learn flatbed securement without having to work for a flatbed company for 1-2 years or is the company route the only option?
Good question. I would normally say company route would be the only option. Place like Anderson Trucking Services had a good securement learning process and they had a really good variety of freight which will teach a lot in a short amount of time. You don’t need 1-2 years if you’re very savvy and think critically. If you’re absolutely set into not going the company route. Maybe start asking some of these open deck drivers at the truck stops and watch a lot of YT videos about open deck securement.
Hi I have a 53 open flatbed considering to exchange for 53 step deck with 22.5 tires. What’s your take on Midwest market. Flat vs step deck owner:operator with own authority

Check your ground. My apu did the same thing. Caused the radiator fan not to come on causing over heating.
What is the size of the rims that you have on your trailer?
oh, i see, 17.5. What is your average speed on cruise control?
Yep it’s 17.5 Double coin 18plys. They held good throughout the summer but when it’s loaded and hot I kept it under 65
