CW Elseworlds BREAKDOWN - EVERY EASTER EGG AND THINGS YOU MISSED in Flash Arrowverse Crossover!

- The annual CW DC Crossover between The Flash, Arrow, and Supergirl just wrapped and there are a multitude of easter eggs and hidden references that you may have missed. This year, we’re introduced to the Monitor, the watcher of the entire Multiverse, and he’s testing universes to see if they’re strong enough for an impending threat. In doing so, John Deegan aka Doctor Destiny obtains the Book of Destiny and rewrites reality. Barry and Oliver have a classic body swap and team up with Cisco, Killer Frost, Diggle, Superman, Supergirl, Lois Lane, and Batwoman to solve this crisis. We also finally acknowledge Batman and meet Ruby Roses’ Kate Kane aka Batwoman in Gotham. Along with a host of Batman villains, we also finally meet John Wesley Shipp’s Flash from the 1990 tv series and confirms a classic fan theory about John Stewart in the Arrowverse. We also have a tease of what’s to come with Crisis on Infinite Earths coming next year, Fall 2019. There are even more hidden references in this show, so let’s discuss!

The best nod in the entire crossover comes in “Legends” when they have 5 missed phone calls from Barry, Cisco, Oliver, Etc and Ray just goes “Huh - Must be the yearly crossover” I know they weren’t confirmed for the crossover but this is the perfect way to include them.
You missed that the actress playing Nora Fries is Stephen Amell's wife irl.

Agreed. The fact that last year’s Crisis on Earth-X (featuring mainly b-list heroes) was legions better than Justice League 2017 (featuring A-heroes) is sad.

2. He protected some people from fire (which makes absolutely no sense saying that Martian Manhunter's one weakness is freaking fire!
3. It seemed more like he teleported him to another universe
It makes sense in Arrowverse because J'onn father returned in Supergirl Season 3 and cured his fear of fire . Now fire only forces him to change back to Martian form which is not an issue here since he is in his Martian form.
The scene where Cisco asks Clark, "Who are you?" to which Clark replies, "A friend" (before opening his shirt to reveal the S-shield underneath) is a nod to the helicopter rescue scene in the first Superman film.
Personal favorite was when Cisco asked Clark who are you? He replied A Friend, direct reference to the Reeve movie

Also, the theory that Batman is made up by the Gotham police force came from the Arkham games.
It's been thrown around in the comics for decades. I can remember reading it in one form or another since the mid-70s, and I'm sure it's been around longer than that.

The red skies and the "Crises on Infinite Eatrhs" name are like easter eggs for season 1 of The Flash with the news report, that thawne had in the time vault, saying "Flash vanishes in crises" and if you look under the picture you will also see "red skies vanish"

Kara does know Bruce. It was established in Supergirl season 1 that he's in Gotham. The implication being that on Earth 1 without Superman giving hope Batman quits

Batman Forever came out in 1995, and you showed a promotional image of Batman & Robin, which came out in 1997. Forever didn’t have Mr Freeze, also.
1994 had some Mr Freeze references. The episode in BTAS “Deep Freeze” aired.

Even an Easter egg of sorts in Legends of Tomorrow. While they're dealing with their own altered reality problem, Gideon (the Waverider's computer) announces that she's taken calls from Barry Allen, Oliver Queen and Kara Zor-El, and one of the other characters says "must be this year's crossover". A reference not only to the annual Arrowverse crossover, but to the annual JLA/JSA Earth-1/Earth-2 crossovers that were a staple in the comics in the years prior to the original Crisis on Infinite Earths.
Lois Lane actually refers to Clark as "Smallville," the nickname that has evolved from the Smallville series.
Lee Carlson Animated series used it first

Another reference to Superman: The Movie was when Cisco asks Clark, "Who are you?" and he replies with "A friend." These exact phrases were originally said by Lois and Clark respectively in the 1978 movie.
Chicago, Carbide and Carbon Building as Wayne tower. also used in the 2 Fantastic Four movies as the Baxter Building.

That hammer weapon that Lois used is actually the hammer of cosmic anvil that Superman occasionally used for harvesting sun energy and give it to sun eater, just like in All Star Superman comic book series. The actress that played Lois actually confirmed it.
This is one was def the best crossover to date despite the kind of weak ending but still a bad ass event. Can't wait til the fall seasons!!
Do you remember the Article from The Flash season 1? It said Flash Missing Vanishes In Crisis. That newspaper mentioned Red Skies Vanish, and this crossover had Red Skies. Coincidence? I think not.

Monitor breached him back to Earth 90. Deegan is unable to alter JWS's Flash because he i s not from Earth 1, just like how Kara isn't from Earth 1.
Okay, but... Kane Wolfman's first name isn't a reference to Bob Kane, it's his mother's maiden name- Adeline Kane, Deathstroke's wife and mother of his sons in the comics (and presumably the Arrowverse).

Missed dr. Fates helmet. That was something I was excited to see but it be better if they introduced him to the arrowverse.
This was a cool crossover. Can't wait for next years Crisis on infinite earths crossover. The last time I was this bummed to wait 365 days for a story to continue was leaving the Cinema after watching Avengers Infinity War.

You don't just bring in the 90s JWS Flash after all these years and then kill him off in an instant, without even a death scene. He's not dead. Monitor sent him away, but he'll find his way back in time for the next crossover.
