• Louis J. Gasnier produced by Pathé.
In addition to Max Linder , the film stars Charles Pathé , • Lucien Nonguet and Georges Monca , all in the role of themselves. An extra is also entrusted to Abel Gance , he will be one of the most important French directors in the 1920s.

(00:07) Max goes to the Pathé company studios, he has with him a letter of recommendation to take an audition and, after an interminable wait in different offices, he finally manages to meet the director Charles Pathé (02:11) and to obtain an audition in the presence of the director Lucien Nonguet (02:51).
(04:38) Some time later he receives a letter stating that he has been hired.
(04:56) On the set, Max has to play the role of a husband who has returned late for dinner, his wife and mother-in-law get angry, so the man ends up being thrown off the balcony (05:40) and submerged by the furniture that the two women throw at him. Once on his feet (06:17), Max ends up in a fight that leads him to roll along with his opponent through the streets of the city, chased by the cameraman and the director.
