- Really happy with the output I got out of this given I only played it for 2 days. There were still some bad levels (GH2, SB2/3 especially) but a lot of the mid game was pretty solid.

it’s interesting how much the spindash and no speed cap changes the game. like, it looks like it’s almost too fast for how the levels were designed, if that makes sense. the first game and CD focused on platforming more than the subsequent games did, where they began to focus on speed more than before.

The use of bubble shield in vertical sections of labyrinth is insane. Almost like this game plans for use of bubble shield more than sonic 3&k does.

I don't know why "emulation" was your first thought. We've had spin-dashing in Sonic 1 since 'Sonic Jam' for the Sega Saturn.

Try tapping it with 2 fingers, alternating one at a time really fast

Werster, you should speedrun Sonix Heroes. There's room for optimization (unlike SA2), and it's great for speedrunning.
You are using debug mode because u have the Instasheld and that is not in the game unless debug and it looks like speeded up the video because the big ring is spinning way to fast
Look at the timer, and listen to the music in the background, it's normal, look at his walking animation when he's not spindashing, he's not faking this, also, I did not see him turn into a ring ONCE in this entire video, this is not fake
