Thank you for this review. I think the Curl Balm looks like it gives the most return for the investment; if you know what I mean.

I do think that volume treatment made your hair look nice and full, for what it’s worth. I personally have found that some products like that seem to make hair look fuller or more dense rather than giving root lift or what we’d call volume. I think products like that would be liked by people who are self-conscious about scalp show maybe.
Also, now that we have so many curly hair products to choose from for me it has become more about what brands/products give me the look to my curls that I want. As a bit of a product junkie myself, I think of each brand as having its own…how would I say…aesthetic identity? Haha. Some brands I use seem to really be focused on making curls as “tight” as they can be. Others seem to want to give really polished, round, big curl look. Still, others give me more piecey-ness and texture along with definition. It’s nice to have all these options now, as I totally remember being a kid and teen having very little to choose from (anyone else get out of the shower and literally only use Dep or LA looks gel 😩 to style), but it can also be frustrating because the only way to know what aesthetic result the products will give your curls is to try it out.
I know I’m being long winded, but also WHY do curly products always seem pumped full of the strongest fragrance imaginable??? I was very interested in these products until I watched and you mentioned the strong, unpleasant scent. I can’t use Curlsmith products because of how strong their fragrances are for example. I get good result with them, but man the smell actually takes over my entire life. I can’t deal with it! Anyway, love your videos and hope you are well. ❤

Aww, thank you so much for watching. I loved reading all about your thoughts.
In regards to the Puff Me Volumizing Treatment, I do think it made my hair feel more full and dense more so than actual outright volume (which is what I believe you were alluding to).
And yes, I agree with your "aesthetic identity" statement. There are so many options for us curlies now days, it just depends on the look that you want. 😃

Hey there Jody! Yeah, I did see that the right side didn't get as much of the cream as the left side and so I agree with your assessment. IMO, I don't think there's anything special about shampoos and rinse out conditioners, so I wouldn't buy these high end brands. I don't like strong scented products either.

Thank you for sharing watching and sharing your thoughts. I think I was kind of interested in trying the Curl Balm bc of Gena Marie, and I also saw the Puff Me Volumizing Treatment featured on an IG add, and I'm always a sucker for something that can potentially give me more volume. 😁
