Hey, Dave. You may want to take the plastic or silicone nib off the tip of the glue gun. This helps keep the glue smooth, and you can really use the metal nib to smooth over the wisps and even add a little extra texture. :)

I completely agree with what you said about that case doing jack shit, with the danger of your phone being burned in the process. However, normal cases work really well. Most of the time it's not the users fault (Looking at you techrax and gizmoslip) if they slip and fall, some of the time breaking along with it. If they had a case, there would be a very minimal chance of the phone breaking (Unless you have a really cheap one which the glue case falling under that category) Just giving some information any knowledgeable person should know.
