I don’t own a truck, I have a 80 series Land Cruiser, but man that’s pretty awesome! I can always appreciate great design and thorough thoughtfulness behind it. Nice job !
The 80 series is when the Landcruiser became the OFFICIAL vehicle of the UN.... the 100 series became the official escape vehicle for terrorist groups during the 911 war against the Muslim world...... Hezbollah, Al Qaeda, Taliban, ISIS, etc all used the Toyota Landcruiserand Toyota Hilux truck......... our American military used all kinds of advanced weapons and vehicles, but at the end it lost the 20 year old war to terrorist group who only used Toyota Landcruiser and Hilux truck.....
Love to see more competition out there and your respect towards your competition. You do a great job differentiating yourself with your product. Best of luck!
I really love your camper. The only thing that keeps me from buying one right now is the annex, the portion that goes around the truck bed and tailgate. It is extremely drafty in windy conditions. I have a friend who has one. My buddy did diy his own little inserts to seal the truck and truck bed to get rid of the draft. In really hot environments he doesn't use the inserts and takes advantage of the draft to keep the camper cooler. He also modified the annex ground straps. They now hook onto the truck instead of staking it into the ground. He said this was the best modification he made, even better than the draft inserts.
Our new tent material is very different from what is show in this video. It is specifically designed to seal around the tailgate. Please reach out to sales@harkeroutdoors.com and we are happy to send you some photos and videos.
@@harkeroutdoors6191 that's awesome. Even if you didn't upgrade your camper. My wife and I are currently looking to purchase one. My buddy's camper own one of your first ones that hit the market. I noticed some changes in some of your current videos.
Nice lightweight setup. My only issue would be set-up time if it was raining or windy. The amount of open time also allows bugs in. I look for quick setup and tear down with no potentially wet materials to store inside the enclosure that will need to be dried later. Give and take. Still a real thoughtful design for out west where it’s warmer and less bugs and critters like nosey raccoons
The way the camper is designed, when closing it up in wet weather, none of your gear would get wet. Sadly with any wedge camper or roof tent with soft sides will need to be re-opened and dried out when wet. The benefit is it saves you time, weight, and allows for a larger space. But you are correct. You would need to dry it out if it was wet. Just part of owning any type of tent. Additionally, this is an older video with our original tent material. With our new tent material, leaving the annex doors zipped on, you can open the camper and have it zipped up in no time to keep bugs out.
I'm 24yrs old from deep south of Texas & not everyone is thinking about having a EDC I do everyone who knows me knows that if you need help in the guy cause I like being prepared for whatever reason and I've been thinking about a camper and this is 100% be worth having
That's a really really nice design. I hope your company has lots of success! Also, I bet it would be pretty easy to secure a chinese diesel heater on the side table. Then you would be all set for cold weather.
I just saw your truck driving through Logan Ut. Haven't seen your channel before but I just subscribed and will check it out. I also have a hunting UA-cam channel and need something like this on my truck for quick hunting trips
I don't agree with the "large queen" statement... it's actually smaller than a queen in both directions... and while it might be true on some PU beds I don't see the annex increasing the area by 30% in allot of bed configurations... I do see any extra room as a benefit though... Is the rear hatch sealed from both water & dust ? The annex deployed and the sleeping platform up does seem to open the area up a bit... and if deleting the rear cross member doesn't weaken the shell or allow dust & water intrusion then that's a BIG plus not having to duck down to enter or exit... US built AWESOME...👍👍 Good Luck...
Super Nice job Fellas! Couple questions. I've got a Nissan Frontier crew cab long bed that I use daily for work and it's my play rig when not working. Since you guys call it the edc it sparked my curiosity as to whether or not the truck can be driven with the top up like a high cap topper of sorts for putting g tall things in the bed that happen to be taller then the roof line. I'm assuming probably not but I imagine as innovative as your product seems I wonder if some stabilization rods couldn't be developed to attach to the EDC to sort of lock the top in different deployed levels so you can drive with the top up. For example say trasporting an upright refrigerator. For guys like me that use my truck for work and need maximum bed use versatility your camper looks like it's almost the perfect do it all work and play cap style camper I've seen so far.
Definitely appreciate the Made in the USA aspect and the creative design…good luck! Out of curiosity, how much does one for a 6.5’ bed typically weigh?
The EDC is incredible in any type of weather. Absolutely no leaks open or closed. The camper is designed specially for off-road, utility, and weather tight function. The model you are looking at in this video has changed quote a bit over the past two year and the EDC comes standard with a completely different tent than the one shown in this video. The new tent is designed to seal around any tailgate. Please email us at sales@harkeroutdoors.com if you would like us to send you some photos. We are also working on putting out a new video that shows all the upgrades to the EDC.
I like an idea but mosquito protection ? All similar camper vs. traditional RTT has the biggest disadvantage from bugs . Look annex might a solution but than still need to get access to kitchen and fridge.
Its the same as getting in and out of any other tent luckily! Especially when comparing other campers like the go fast that require opening the entire tailgate and rear hatch, the EDC has a much less chance of letting bugs in.
Great Video guys! I saw this camper last year during the Outside Adventure Expo in Salt Lake (ua-cam.com/video/BNieptKudF8/v-deo.html) your guys' camper was definitely my favorite of what we saw for short bed trucks. Sadly EDC wasnt available for Frontiers (I ended up with a GFC v2) but regardless i loved how you guys use the tailgate of the truck to extend the living space which is unlike anything ive' seen other with campers like this. Glad to see the camper is coming along great, cheers!
Its is 30% larger inside than both of those brands and you still have standing room while the bed is down. Not saying its better, but its defiantly different and can be a lot easier to use for some people.

Like how this is evolving. Especially the annex windows instead of full length netting.
Sorry for driving crazy in front of you in the I-15. Had to make sure this was your. Lol love the content!

Thank you for the follow up information.
Men. That's an awesome camper. Really cool design.
Impressive. It's a shame you're not here in Australia 👌🇦🇺
Awesome! What a great concept and design.
What an awesome design kudos guys.
You are my hero joe
Well done, keep it up guys. If I may make a suggestion? Show your camp set up, burner, fridge or cooler, all the thing to make camp...

Great design for in and out ...good job ...
I neeeeed one !!!!!! 😭
That's a really really nice design. I hope your company has lots of success! Also, I bet it would be pretty easy to secure a chinese diesel heater on the side table. Then you would be all set for cold weather.
We have a mount to put the heaters on the side of the campers. They work great!
Awsome !!! I need one
nice designs
I was like.... why the hell would you want to take that rear door off... then i saw the light. Well done.
WOW! Wish this could fit my truck!
Love this
Outstanding
I would like to see the setup for your Awning.
Should put a link to the website in the description.

Really cool setup. Will it work on a F150 FX4 with 5.5' bed?
It sure will!
Would you be able to put the tailgate and table back into position for security at night. Great design!
Need something like this for my F250

It is actually larger than a queen. The bed platform is 7.5 feet long by 5 feet wide, which is slightly larger than a queen mattress.
Brilliant!
Clever upgrades
Please sponsor my Tacoma! I'm a local too.

320 Pounds full the full size 6.5 !
Is getting one to Canada even a possibility ? Pretty awesome setup.
Drive over and get it installed.
I'm trying to mate a cubic mini wooddtove w this setup. A simple wall thimble maybe exit on a dedicated side . Any ideas
For the Harker Oudoors EDC! Wondering how is holding up with the rain? Any leaking? Look like the back door is not sealed enough!

Bear country compatible????

Love the design, any good way to build steps up to the bed for doggos?
I have a rooftop tent. Dog has steps from ground to window. Enters the window. So far so good. Entry and exit only with me right there so no falling.
Does it fit a 1984 jeep j10 pick up truck?
What about mosquitos crawling through the spaces of the annex around the tailgate ? Is that just something you’ll have to deal with.
When it is strapped properly there are no gaps! Plus we have a new canvas that automatically seals the tailgate off without use the straps.
Now wat is the price
Would you export to Mauritius ?
For the life of me I don't get the 5 foot bed. You talk about room but you can gain so much more by going with a 6ft.
🤟
Is the annex a standard feature or an option?
The annex is standard!

Great Video! Glad you liked our campers!
Not sure how this is better than GFC or Super pacific. It looks unfinished and unrefined.
100% more standing room, and no crawling to enter. 🤙

Don’t see where they said it was better
