    I am a GFC owner. I really like this EDC camper. You guys are doing something different and it is a really good looking product!

    As a GFC lover, I think it’s really cool that you did this without disparaging the GFC 🙌🏻

      Did you not see how biased he was even with just how he chose to enter the gfc through the small panel above the spare tire so he could make it look difficult - even added the 'out of breath' dramatic element

    Harker is so sleek, I love that they utilized every inch of space.

    Love this. Such a great comparison. Love the idea to use the rear hatch as a table. Easy push away sleep platform. So much room inside! Sold.

    The Harker EDC is a very nice looking product. I have a Topo-Toppers Mesa which is similar to the GFC and am happy with it but had I seen this video before I purchased the Mesa I may have gone with the Harker EDC. I'm very impressed with the pricing and the innovative features that are unique to it.

    With all my research before going with the Alu-Cab, all the wedge campers have their downsides. My main goal was having a quick space to change after MTB, all the canvas on the Harker wouldn't be ideal for that. Ultimately it was having a sealed door on the Alu-Cab that was the final straw for me. However, some may see not having your tailgate as a Con. Like I said, they all have something that isn't necessarily ideal for every situation but its about tailoring your camper to your use case.

    I appreciate the ingenuity and creativity, as well as the raising sleep platform.
    Out of curiosity, do you offer options for rear windows? I realize the rear door serves as a table, but cab-side and rear windows would be useful.
    Keep up the great work!

      Great question! Our Rear Visibility kit includes a center-slide fold-down passthrough window between the truck and camper, as well as a solid window in the rear hatch. This allows you to see out the rear of your camper using your rear-view mirror while driving. The hatch still functions as a table, even with the window in it.

    Great video! On the Harker, is there a way to set up the tent without the annex? I.e. have the tent set up with the tailgate closed and rear hatch in place.

    • @harkeroutdoors6191
      @harkeroutdoors6191  Рік тому +2

      There is not. The rear annex portion and removal of the hatch is what give the Harker the massive amount of interior space as well as avoiding having to crawl into the camper. Check out our other GFC comparison video to see how the two campers set up differently. Thanks for watching!

    I like that you can sleep people on the camping platform as well as the truck bed in the Harker if needed. With the GFC, you only have 5' of bed with it closed up.

  • @Nolgore

    Harker is super sweet, but I would not want to deal with all the extra tent material packing up in the rain or inclimate weather. Especially since I'd have to reopen to dry it out.

    • @harkeroutdoors6191
      @harkeroutdoors6191  Рік тому

      The annex door extremely easy to remove if needed when they wet. But you can also leave them on while packing up wet since the inside of the tent will stay dry. Plus any type of roof tent, ground tent, or wedge camper will need to be opened up after rainy camping to avoid mildew. That is just part of camping sadly.

    Hi, this looks great! Any chance to get this in Germany? I've just ordered a Ranger Wildtrak X (to be delivered by the end of 2023) and this seem to be a perfect cabin. One restriction I have: I need it to fit it into my garage and the pass through height cannot exceed 86 inch. (So I'd need to know the height of the closed cabin from the truck bed.) Thanks in advance for an answer!

    The issue with the cross bar took me out of the camper option and over to the RTT. This Harker may be an option though. How is it for keeping out dust from driving on dirt roads? Are the available for 6' 9" beds?

    It is just a matter of personal needs . I own none of them, but I will get the gfc just for simple setup and smaller footprint. Furthermore , most of the time, you're outside, standing room is not that important.

      Check out our new EXO camper! Similar to the GFC but a lot more features for your money and a much stronger frame for offroading. Still only 300lbs but we use a steel frame which can flex with the truck bed as you wheel. The aluminum frames tent to bend and stay bent. Plus the EXO starts at $5995 and only has a 4 week lead time.

    GFC is a clear winner. Talking about time setting up, taking down. The weight. The cost. The two open up windows on the camper. Aerodynamic…

    • @harkeroutdoors6191
      @harkeroutdoors6191  Рік тому +2

      You can not leave any bedding inside the GFC so in reality the EDC is equivalent with set up time. No bed set up time in the Harker. Plus 275 vs 300 pounds, most rucks wont notice a 25 pound weight difference. To go along with your weight and aerodynamic claim, the GFC has a flat front which causes wind resistance and the EDC has a sloped front to account for aerodynamics. The size difference having vertical walls vs angled is incomparable. Not mention you cant mount your gas and dirty gear on the exterior of the GFC, so you will have a smelly camper and need take time to unload it at camp. But everyone is open to their own options! We hope you get the chance to see one in person some day.

      @obrianmcc Рік тому +2

      I would have to also agree, prefer the GFC ... the Harker to me pushes the line of more being a camper whereas the GFC is a minimalist topper with a RTT. I've seen both driving down the road and the Harker seems to carry it's weight higher.

    Coming from someone who isn't a fanboi of any camper - I can't help but question your integrity when you: 1. Make it so you can be extra dramatic by setting up the gfc panels so the small panel is at the back above the spare tire so you can make it look extra difficult to get in. 2. Include setting up a table so you can add extra time to make it look like the harker is faster. 3. Already have the cables out and attached to the side of the harker. 4. Don't setup half of the back canvas and take the time to cinch it all down. Besides all that, with no crossbar support holding the 2 sides of the camper together, I'd imagine those camper sides are somewhere between flimsy and not very strong. On a positive not, I really like your hydraulic bed platform, utilizing the tailgate as extra space, vertical sides, and the U-bar that creates the extra area inside the tent. Suggestion: get rid of the dumb circles on the top edge and incorporate double tslot for easy 270 awning mounting options. The day one of the lightweight camper manufacturers incorporate an Intrepid Geo style tent with the 80/20 floor they will win the battle of the campers.

      Depending on the truck model you would have 34 to 36 inches up from the truck bed rails to the top of the camper.
