Against Holm, a multiple boxing and kickboxing world champion, she decided to strike only. That was nearly 95% of her downfall. If she would take Holm to the ground, this fight looks totally different. And against Nunes, she tried the same shit.

Judo. People don't know. That sport is rough. You learn to break-fall but it's still a huge impact. Even just drilling. I only drill it with a very thick crash pad.

as much as i agree with the overrated element of this i cant agree with the joke side of things. its hard to ignore what she did for the women's side of the sport if it wasn't for her UFC wouldn't have ever even have had a single division. She should just focus on that as her legacy rather than focusing on her fight career a lot of her wins were against what at the time were basically part time fighters not the type of killers that there are in the UFC now. but the only reason those killers are there is as a result of the work that Rhonda put in in the first place to make sure they all get paid. before UFC bought strikeforce dana wanted nothing to do with the women but rhonda could shift tickets and PPV and changed danas mind

Very true. She made ufc women's division huge because Dana allowed it. Dana wanted someone to groom. Gina was major before Rhonda and even Cyborg. But the fact that Dana knew he wouldn't be able to control or sleep with them, he waited for the right person. I know cyborg isn't the type but then again Rhonda isn't no prize catch either. Applying her judo expertise in a non-competetive field and getting automatic wins was what she enjoyed about her MMA career. She proved as much by giving up once she was no longer able to do that. She wanted (and still wants) to believe she's the greatest, and every time she threw some college dropout on her back and cranked her arm, it validated that self-perception for her. She never sought out the fulfillment of growing and fighting to stay ahead of the competition. She didn't want competition.

Rousey was a great martial artist but never made to be a "fighter". This always comes out when someone discovers that violence is a two-way street. She literally got PTSD after finally running into actually qualified competition. I always said that her believing so firmly in her own hype would end her.
