    Absolutely beautiful. I always believed the Cups and Balls should be a fast-paced high-action trick. This is done great with multiple climaxes. 10/10 would recommend

    Wow. I'm in awe. Cups and balls surrounded by a live audience and do a lot of different tricks one after another. It's amazing how much practice he must have put in. Wow!

    Awesome cups and balls performance. I was blown away by the pennies. Didn't see that coming at all.
    After watching this video, I did a search for John Mendoza. Sadly, he passed away in 2020. =(

    The final penny load was invented and created for Mendoza by Minnesota artist and magician Steven Paul Carlson back in 1976. Though Carlson first used pennies with the line..It doesnt make any sense (cents) any loose items can be used. The original intention was to have 100 little balls roll out.

      Your interesting post was 14 yrs ago but Im curious if you know if its cardboard disk or something similar holding load in? Didnt seem to take him much to release it but had to be bottom after loading and getting cup on table

    Copperfield deserves respect for what he's done for the magic community by preserving so vast a library of magic texts, plus his style is just different, so no need to put him down. This guy is good, and copperfield is good at what he does as well.

    The cup full of pennies finish was created by and made for Mendoza by Minnesota artist & magician Steven Paul Carlson. Mendoza is always an entertaining performer! Audiences love his magic. The Magic Castle should have made him close-up magician of the year.

    Actually, if you watch carefully and look for it, he does make a noise when he puts the coins in. Of course, nobody notices because they're busy applauding and, even if you did hear it, you'd imagine it was just the cups jangling together.

  • @spcarlson
    @spcarlson 13 років тому

    @cj5jeep80 The penny load was created and made for Mendoza by Steven Paul Carlson an artist and magician from Minnesota. Carlson created it about 35 years ago. Any object can be used, Carlson used pennies as they were the first loose thing he could find around the house and later came up with the line "doesn't make any sense (cents)" The original though was to use tons of little tiny balls.

    Please, don't try to comment on something you have less then half a clue about, and don't be naive. You wouldn't be able to do this if you practiced for years. I know this because I'm a professional, full-time magician. A routine like this takes years to master.

    @Combustion99 Actually I do the effect myself. And much better than this with the Vernon wand spin vanish and stuff which I doubt you can do. Also the final loads in this were clumsy with a lot of fiddling about in the bag under the table. It was quite transparent when the loads were going in, Dai Vernon could do this better at 78 years old standing up and loading the finals from his back pocket.

    And, does the fact that you do the effect mean you do it well? If you do it as well as you say you do, post a video, and I'll critique it. I'll be honest, because I have nothing to lose or win. Also, I did not say that this routine was perfect, because it is nowhere close to where routines by Ammar/Vernon/Burton are.

    First of all this is a cups and balls not a chop cup routine. If you think this guy is great I think you are the one who hasn't seen any magic, all he added to that routine was a production of some coins other then that it was a standard cups and ball routine. And btw I don't need to watch any porn; I mentioned the girl to say that she was much better then the routine.

    When he is putting the balls away he is going into his bag and getting the big balls and putting them under the cups when he hovers them near the back of the table! At 3:52 - 3:54 when people are looking at the big balls he hovers the centre cup at the back of the table and shoves the coin load in. This is not clever or magical it is lame. Also I can tell you the audience are the L and L stooge crowd who are brought in to applaude and go oooh and aaah in all the right places.
