Great review! It's remarkable that there are still people still who can remember Cab Forwards. The last revenue run of a Cab Forward was in 1956. We're fast approaching the time when no one among the living will remember seeing operating Cab Forwards in person.
You prolly dont care but if you are stoned like me during the covid times then you can watch all of the new movies on InstaFlixxer. Have been watching with my gf for the last few days xD
MTH has made another very fine HO steam locomotive! Great review James! Although it wouldn't be high on my wishlist if it existed, I wish MTH would make HO versions of the AC-12 Class Southern Pacific Cab Forwards and have #4294 be one of the available numbers for it. That could be a good cash cow for MTH since the real #4294 has been preserved at the California State Railroad Museum in Sacramento, so that would appeal to vintage model railroaders and even modern model railroaders.
Hey James nice movie, amazing locomotive very interesting, such Europe does not drive with great pleasure I follow Mr. Channel waiting for next movies and presentations. Stanislaw from Poland
I've never been a huge HO person but I always enjoy your reviews. You're like the Eric Siegel of the HO world. Great review and keep up the great work!
Jamie, are there 'marker lights' that light up on the Cab Forward? I never saw them in your review nor the cab interior light. I am wanting to buy one. I'd love to talk to you sometime. Short and brief calls, I promise.
Hello James, I ask a favor of you. Can you show coupling of this locomotive with a railcar and how that works with the M.T.H. Electric Trains remote control coupler. I suggested that they put these on their steam locomotives some years back when they first came out with the Big Boy Steam Locomotives. I really like how they work on their diesel-electric models. My C&O Allegheny H-8 class Steam Locomotive has that remote control coupler on it and it works really well. Benjamin J. Temple
Jamie does this engine have the air pump sound the Cab Forwards we’re famous for having. Trying to decide between this or the Broadway Limited version and really want that sound.
Brute Compaq I found an older run of the MTH one that has the sound. Very sad they got rid of it in the new runs it’s what makes this locomotive in general stand out from the rest.
Few annoying MTH details that detracts me of getting it and unfortunately gives the model a toyish looks. So straight to the point this locomotive is for the crowd that likes to run toys and not correct SP models. Why cover the engineer and fireman widows in clear plastic? Either instal widows with red frames as SP steam were or leave it open to interior. The grill reproduction in the front of cab is nothing less than grotesque. Makes even wonder if MTH knows what is suppose to look. Any other model maker of SP cab forward was able to render a mesh pattern for the grill. Even Rivarossi model of 40 years ago! MTH just failed. On the technical side. Running their "DCC" with all messed up functions that cannot be remapped is another problem. There are better and more accurate models out there. For me this rendition of cab forward is an expensive toy and not a faithful model. It just misses in the obvious details. Too bad!
If they ever make one again. I heard the factory they used to build them in China went out of business. Go to any online vendor and search for Intermountain and observe everything they make is on backorder.

I want to congratulate you on the video of you going to train world. Very amusing and it did have more than a grain of truth to it. Very well done

Great video, I couldn't hear it but does this model sport the signature cab forward air pump noise?
Cool Beans!
How does your hand not shake with anticipation when you unbox a new locomotive and put it on the turntable? #NervesofSteel

What curve radius do you use on the run by sequence? Your trains always look great. Mine I guess is too sharp.
Cool review
If I remember right trainworld is in either New York or New Jersey
Do the Mth ho Cab Forwards have a smoke On/Off swich in the locomotive?
Jamie does this engine have the air pump sound the Cab Forwards we’re famous for having. Trying to decide between this or the Broadway Limited version and really want that sound.
The mth locomotive does not have it and the new run from broadway does not have it but broadways first run has it

Wow absolutely beautiful
I love your vidioes
Also how do you turn off smoke with remote
It is the f8 function
Great connection between loco and tender. I hate those darn wires most manufacturers use.
Very nice loco and vid James. I'm just not quite sure about the lighting thou.
Super 👍👍👍👍👍
Nice locomotive but it is a bit pricey. Cheers, Dan
Cool
Where in the northeast
New York
Wait, it comes with the smoke fluid? I thought that was a huge shipping no-no? What's changed?
Nice review, James, as always.
that's BLI who can't ship fluid with the locos.

the MTH one looks like a toy. If you want a real model, buy the Intermountain one.
